Sometimes mishaps happens, doesn’t mean those motors are bad! Outboard motors a pretty reliable if the maintenance is done personally I like Honda products and Yamaha products if I would stumble upon a deal like this you’d be sure I’d come home with it!
@@igotdeelz I’ve seen broken regulators in their packages box, sometimes they come to the factory already broken maybe fallen on the floor and then installed in the motor, I’ve replaced one in a brand new Yamaha 50 tiller and when the regulator arrived it wasn’t even good 😂
I bought this because of my local Honda marine shop was closing down and had a 40% discount on the motor which I could not pass up. If I could justify and come up with 7k, I would go with the Yamaha, but no complaints so far other than having a bad rectifier right out of the box on this Honda motor.
Yamaha Honda mercury are in my opinion the best outboard motors out there since sadly evenrude no longer exists which was also a pretty reliable brand for a long time like Johnson back in the days!
@@kylefox8817 I 100% agree with you! I used to stop in there once in a while on my lunch break to see what deals they had going on and to chat with the owners. I was hoping someone else would have jumped in and kept the place going since the closest service dealer is almost 2 hours away, but all things happen for a reason.
@@igotdeelz agreed. Part of the reason I bought a Honda. What’s the service dealer you’re looking at? I’ve been doing oil and filter changes myself but will be due for an impeller change soon.

Agreed! Despite the bad part, I have no complaints about the motor. I'm at 30 hours on it and have had no other problem.

🥰😁👍👍👍
I see they advertise highest charging output in class....LOL. Iv been looking at them, they look and sound like the best 40-60hp outboards.

Aren't these built by tohatsu?
from Hilton marine in Elsmere, DE?
Yup
@@igotdeelz bought a 20hp there a few years ago. Sad to see they closed up shop. Were always great to work with.
