If you want Derek's following and the likes and views that come with his presence then don't cut that man short. He's got a million followers literally and you could have them all motor trend just do right by them and Derek and not cut him short.

Love vice grip garage was a little disappointed when he went to motortrend, but glad he is still keeping his original content on his channel. Motortrend has a way to ruining good shows. Hope they don't mess up Derek's UA-cam greatness.

Honestly this feels totally scripted, the voice over stuff makes me insane, and I don't like the editing, I'll be sticking with the UA-cam only where he can be authentic 🤷♂️
We all love Derek Motortrend, don't cut him short! Its great to see him expanding but still keeping that Derek style. VGG was one of the first car channels I subscribed to when he first started, it hasn't let me down!

Well, as we've recently seen MT doesn't hesitate to kill their babies (Dirt Everyday, etc). So, I'll just stick with Derek's channel for his content since he'll be right back there when they cut him loose at some point anyway.

These videos are way...way...too short. This man has taught me about cars and figuring out basics by his humorous way of doing things. He makes understanding engines and its operational means easy and you also learn about the cars history at the same time. Wish my teachers had this unique way of teaching, and i would have gone into a different field of work. I dont know... I dont know. But once i had to fix my own vehicle i just did it and was "ill be dipped". Lol

Been a while since I watched Derek do this with so many tools. Air tools, skid loader, torch, matching tires, correct parts.....makes a guy think I could do this :)

Oh man looks like a guy might be hittin the big time. Been following Derek for years now and it's about time TV actually found one of the best personalities possible for car vids.
That brings back fond memories. My father drove a 65 D300 with a 318. We spent thousands of miles in that truck.
I've been driving Dodges since 74 had Chevy before and rather own a Dodge never let me down every one I've owned had over 250,000 miles when sold

I had a 1974 Dodge Club Cab I bought after coming back from the war. I used it to tow a 29 ft travel trailer It worked great.

I'm betting that's more of a Motortrend thing of why he got new tires. Due to insurance, image and everything. It could look really bad on motor trend or upset Motortrend's insurance, if Derek drove on older dry rotted tires. Where on his YT channel he'd probably still kept the old tires and not worried about it.

I have that same truck but mine is a ‘73. It’s awesome.

Same thing on my 79 w300 I stuffed a 440 in it 4x4 with 4 speed. Same military green paint . Dash pad delete. Ohhh dodge wiring doesn't get hot lol don't you worry about the smoke leaks

Derek is awesome! I am here for him. Motor Trend selling out or lost control? I have watched the same Hyundai electric SUV commercial at least 20 times while watching a few of Dereks videos. Absolutely obnoxious! Derek you for sure can start your own channel, Sky is the limit!

I have a '93 D350 and that thing has pulled me out of a lot of jams.
The problem with Mopar is the electrical system was bad. I had a 76 Ram Charger. I was always changing Regulators and Alternators (sometimes a starter). I am sure the -20F temps we got on a regular basis didn't make the issues any better. The engines though ran great. The engine could be played out.
