  • The newest addition includes a 1966 Dodge truck that has never left the town it was bought new in. This truck features a slant six with a three speed on the column. Surprisingly this truck has very little rust besides the bed where plants were actually growing out of it!

I am a Ford guy but I absolutely love these old Dodges especially the front grill in those things they just have a characteristic that nothing else is out there like.
If I ever got one I'd probably put a 440 in it.
BTW, While on a bicycle ride thru an old haunt area of mine, I discovered a 1968 Mercury PU.
Very rare unit, Now it is sitting in my driveway....

I love seeing a dad and his son doing this stuff together. I think what I love most is you just make them work again without doing some crazy overboard, overpriced restoration. Now I think I’m gonna have to get me another old Dodge D 100. I’ve had three of them...69, 70, and 71.

And not too awful complicated to repair.which makes them the complete opposite of a brand new truck..I always liked chrysler products I owned a many of them over th years.and still do...great vedio brother stay safe and well👍

I grew up with this 1966 Dodge D100. My dad bought it new. Ours was powder blue and came with no bumper and 4 speed manual tranny with a 318 engine and 2 barrel carb. A pcv valve was the only thing close to emissions control on it. A huge steering wheel as it was Armstrong power steering two wheel drive. No seat belts. Probably an option back then. It had the best heater of any vehicle I’ve ever been in to this day. It was used for farm life but it never had a dent on her. She had white truck mirrors and all rubber floor covering. I rebuilt the engine and drove it thru high school after 1973 when dad got a Chevy. The steering got sloppy and you had to “herd” it down the road. Dad gave it to my nephew after I left home and it got all beat up. I lost track of her after I went to school. I sure do miss ‘ole blue’

That's probably one of the very few live versions of the song Country Road that I have heard. I see Dylan likes the old rock artists as well. I saw the other video with the Joe Cocker songs. The music is very appropriate to hear when watching videos about old cars. I guess you could say that James Taylor is an old car of sorts. And I guess Joe Cocker is now in a junkyard somewhere and never to return. RIP Joe!

Aside from loving the sounds of the great James Taylor- no one can sing a song quite like Sweet Baby James- the video has a serene quality to it- almost Petrolicious-like in it's presentation. The truck: what can I say? There is nothing on earth quite as symbolic of Americana as an old pickup truck, and it's a crime before mankind to allow one to die. Kudos to you and all involved in bringing that ol' beauty to life. Oh- the sound of a Leaning Tower of Power when it awakens from a 10 year old slumber!
I'm subscribed (ok, I already was..) and look forward to more from this and all the other great MOPAR trucks in your collection!

I bought a 1963 D-100 stepside Dodge for $100.00. It had set for years but had little rust. I worked on the slant six for about a week and had it running. The transmission was three on the tree. I sprayed it with gray primer and sold it to a latino friend for $600.00.

I helped restore a truck similar to this one but it had circular tail lights and dual headlights. For the paint we decided on old school reddish brown primer then blue over top. We sanded through the blue in some spots to simulate patina/rust, lastly flat primer. It turned out really good
