Kim Jung Gi mentioned in previous interviews that he learned how to visualize how to draw in his mind. Is it possible to explain how this skill works, the process or exercises?
Imagine how many sketchbooks he's filled up since then - also yes, seeing his early drawings would be very inspiring and motivating, but I doubt they'll show us those.
"I've been drawing a lot of medical drawing because my health is dwindling." Small details that just fly over you that turns heavy now. RIP Kim Jung Gi
@@zedharith6695 I agree because drawing is very addicting. But im the case of eating healthy and exercise. People wont notice but i notice the quality of my work gets better. when your care for the body that helps you draw
@@gooblymcfarts Nice to hear that, guess I’ll try it too. So far in my art journey, I would try to push myself so much and drink too much sugar just because I want to keep drawing. I realized that in search of improvement, we just ignore our health which is the most important thing. Having rest or slow down really helps on my side of learning.
@@zedharith6695 well yeah it makes sense when you think about drawing a different way. Drawing seems abstract because we think our bodies aren't important. But imagine an Athlete only eating sugar not sleeping well. And not stretching. We know they won't play as well. It's the same as drawing. We need to take care of our brains and hands, because it treats it like a sport too. Since I viewed art that way, it helped me improve a lot
The Mighty Starbrand but could be. Kim said His parents didnt Support him early. He Supports His son. So if he keeps drawing much he will reach at least the same insane Level.
I think people place that sort of value on talent so they dont feel as bad for not reaching the level that they see in their heroes. Talent at most is a nact or inclination. Its not even worth mentioning. Jung Gi himself points this out so many times and rightfully gets annoyed when people disrespectfully mention his "talent"
@@rousseaurees-baker1162 ive seen friends waste away 5 years trying to accomplish something someone else master in a month. Dont want to burst your sensitive little bubble but welcome to reality...
@@Sarubotai it's not because of talent, you need to know what the story behind it or what that person did to learn it, if i have a basic notion of drawing i would obviously learn something faster than my friend who doesn't know anything obviously. Think about the mindset a person has when drawing, kim jung gi has been drawing since forever and just thinking about the fun he had doing it, he noticed how different things looked from different angles and this kind of thing served as the basis for him even today, but a person who has not had that kind of thinking, who has studied in another way, it can take more or less depending on how he studied, he has nothing related to talent, he just learned in a more pleasant and beneficial way for him to learn faster and better, how is one born with the talent to draw? does it make straighter lines more perfect circles? There's no such thing as a talent for drawing, you can't be born knowing how to draw, you learn, it's easy, many artists nowadays are new because it's easy, peter han is proof that effort can beat talent, his drawings have as much detail as kim jung gi, and he also draws only from "imagination", obviously not everyone will reach that level, because the effort is VERY high, but it's totally possible, talent is a lie, they always talk about talent when they see someone doing something impossible, but it's always impossible until someone else does.
@@guilhermepf2715 EXACTLY! Talent is having the aptitude to learn something faster than someone with no talent. Some people spend 1 year mastering one task, others spend 20, and some dont even master that task in their lifetime.
it's both motivating AND overwhelming in a POSITIVE way to see his sketches. It's a good thing that both is happening because you're glad to see what he has to offer and you want more! That simple!
You can tell this man loved what he was doing. Anybody that can cause something difficult to become easy to them in a second nature sort of way has a passion for it.
People saying something like people draw well because of talent and here’s kimjunggi drawing 10hours a day for many years, most people who said that had never tried to put the same amount of time and effort into their passion
I bet all of his sons work at school has sketches on lmao I got in trouble for that but when I was handed paper in class, its impossible not to draw anything.
Looking at those sketches that looks a lot like the Netherlands, in Amsterdam tons of people have those carriages for transporting their children in front of the bike. Now i do know they also ride bikes in Denmark but i don't know if they have the same carriages.
I would love to see how he draws different things with all of his amazing perspectives, why he chooses them, and how he can achieve the fish-eye lens look
Master KJG and Kazone, it would be really nice if KJG could give us some tips or basic instructions on 1. human anatomy proportions, 2. how to clothe the human body and 3. how to fabric look good

I love his casual attitude as a father and not forcing his craft on his son. It’s hilarious that he took his son’s sketchbook. In the US if a kid told his teacher his father stole his sketchbook, erased his drawings and drew over them they’d call CPS.

Can his son do a sketchbook tour? .. so we can all just give up trying already :D
I heard he didnt become a published artist until he was 27. So I would ask, what was it like during those years before being an artist?
What's the dot/bump thing he always draws on the back of his head?
(2) things....please stop showing his porn. Its evil. Secondly, what markers does he use to draw? Thank you.
i'd love to see his early sketches when he was in college or something like that. That would be awesome!

+1 for that. I'm sure they'd still be a million times better than mine but it'd be cool to compare.
Imagine erasing your son's drawings so you could draw. This is some new wave parenting.
That level of drawing for 10 years old is impressive. Like father like son
