- Take a peek into the mind of Kim Jung Gi.
Kim Jung Gi holds a Guinness World Record for the “Longest drawing by an individual for the Fisheye Art” Illustration category. This mighty Korean artist is known and adored by artists all around the world for his epic drawings and illustrations. Kim has published five sketchbooks that gather nearly 3500 pages of his art. He’s also published two comics in collaboration with the famous French writer Jean-David Morvan: “SpyGames” and “McCurry, NYC, 9/11”. His work has attracted and inspired millions - not only for the incredible drawings he creates but for his remarkable ability to visualize drawings before making a single mark. He draws on anything made of paper, from sketchbooks to toilet paper, receipts, and giant artboards. Today, when he is not working in advertising for some Korean company or managing AniChanga, his drawing school in Seoul, he’s traveling the world to meet people and get inspired.

I remember watching this a couple years ago in the midst of the pandemic. It inspired me to keep a private journal of sketches. It pains me to learn this man passed away today. What a loss for the art world.
WHAT?! HE PASSED AWAY?!
@@cremozinha295 Yes, unfortunately
@@towset654 damn stupid world.
@@cremozinha295 just the other day
What a funny man. He would be happy to have helped you, for sure. Keep on sketching!
...I trained so hard and became bald. So powerful nobody can ever beat me...- Saitama's this statement fits justly into Master Kim's scenario.
Hehe. I'm short in hair too these days, but hopefully not for long either.
One pen man
It's hard for people that aren't artists to understand how truly skilled he is. His skill is beyond masterful.
its like hes tracing an image we cant see
great comment
In a way he is, he usually imagines a picture either beforehand or on the go 😉
For realsss
Wow, nice!
I'm convinced this cameraman wanted to be a dermatologist when he grew up.
ENHANCE. ENHANCE. ENHANCE! WE NEED TO GO DEEPER! GET INSIDE HIS PORES!!
I think I saw this one before. Go look at older videos. There was one with him and the images were much clearer, may not have been this channel
The way I laughed my ass off scrolling down to see who was wondering the same thing
deadass could see parasites living in his pores
damn it camera man
His level of mastery is almost unbelievable.
He is a master of the line
you are the master of comments
@@ElMauber you are the master of language
@@triisart1721 you are the master of the numbers
@@h........................... you are the master of the private investigators
@@dominguezrodrigueznicolas3371 you are the master of the final "S" in words (yeah it's not my turn but I wanted to say that)
being addicted to drawing must be amazing
being addicted to drawing usually already happens a couple years into learning to draw. Its honestly a pretty cool feeling.. and a decade later you might enter Kim Jung Gi territory of skill
@@the_Googie did that happen to you? being addicted after years of learning?
@@AlxD03 no, i have just really started taking it serious maybe for a year or two now. You just gotta push through. For me its directly tied to job success. I wanna be a concept artist and if I dont learn all these things I will not compete in this field. But I feel like once you have pushed through that first big mountain of frustration its like you dont wanna stop. When I encounter an issue I just wanna work on it till I feel like im getting better. Its tough to explain. You just gotta force yourself a lot. its a real fight in the beginning, probably the reason why post people give up
@@the_Googie I feel the exact same!! Once you start to really see your improvement it motivates you even more to keep pushing and improving
@@havenskye9170 yes! Its a constant battle of keeping the balance of fun and practice, its a marathon afterall. It feels overwhelming at times, like "how am i gonna tackle all these disciplines", but that struggle is just part of being an artist, and its those that keep on working that will come out skilled and happy. Slow and steady wins the race!
This world couldn't hold his talent.
coming back here after learning about his sudden passing. thank you, Sir, for being such an inspiration for a young artist like me. i hope you rest easy.
He is motivating and demotivating me at the same time.
I don't know why, but this video calms me and makes me feel peace. RIP Mr. Jung Gi - You are iconic.
Watching him draw fills me with wonder, his skill was truly amazing. It saddens me, the thought that we won't be spoiled with any more of his art. I always eagerly awaited his new sketchbooks and I'm happy to own one of his drawings. Life is so fickle, he will be missed, one of the GOATs.
RIP the legend. Was a major inspiration for me.
These type of artist are the closest we can get to understanding how God just creates. It’s so exhilarating to watch him create from nothing.
Wow. This is like Michelangelo level of art. For Mike he said the sculpture was there he just needed to unearth it. This man’s the same. The drawings there, he just needs to ink it.
Kim Jung Gi always draws faster than I can even write a sentence.
i think that you should mention the fact that this is an old interview, some people may get confused
Description says 2015 and he signed it 2015. No confusion here
Sometimes I am afraid that Kim would give away clues about where he is hiding the bodies... :p
Please never delete this, it's full of artistic knowledge that will help artist
I think it got deleted by youtube last time
This type of content is allowed because its for education
Every time I watch a vid of him drawing it feels like I'm watching an episode of Heroes or something. His ability to visualize an image and then translate it directly to paper without a pencil or construction is just otherwordly. It honestly does look superhuman at times (although it obv came from decades of hard work and practice).
I can't tell if he is the biggest genius or the biggest pervert
but the camera man is pervert
the camera man zooms 👁️👄👁️
Most artists have a secret naughty drawing folder
@@emigoldber Tell me about it 🤣 honestly though who in their right mind wouldnt make their own pornographic content if they could? 😅 I mean even those who cant draw enjoy drawing sex related things for a laugh 😁
he is Jiraiya
Yes
Can I see your greatest masterpiece?
Jung gi: *Shows millions of papers*
Which one?
The way he draws the scene is unbelievable, rest in piece master your art lives on forever
Does this video use the cameraman with the fetish for zooming in on facial pores?
Yes
Lmaoooo
cannot believe he is turly gone. His work inspired me the most like for many others. Rest in peace legend
Masterful ..6:37 "when the scribble begins one person come out, and the story starts"
One of the things i love in life is when kim jung gi laughing naughtily and happily at his own work 😅
Rip GOAT!! Came back here as soon as I heard the news. Your work will continue to inspire generations long after you are gone!
Looking back of one of my favorites artist, RIP kim jung gi
that deranged turn of events at 6:06 tho lmao, I'm gonna miss this man. I would have loved to meet him but I guess I'll continue looking up to him with every art I draw.
Mr Kim Jung Gi is the one who got me back into drawing and has made me full devoted to becoming a master
Rest in piece sir
I am no one but i walk the path of art and drawing with u as my inspiration
Thank you for everything
On this day, Oct. 5, 2022, the great Kim Jung Gi died. May he rest in peace.
I'm a simple man
I see Kim Jung Gi
I click!
I had to pause on each page to study it!!! He's the GOAT!!!
Pardon!! But my mistake
I read it as goat🤦♀️

I love how much joy KJG brought to his sketches - I always forget how funny some of them are
this man triple his life's experiences through drawings
Rest in peace, once in a generation genius.
Thank you for uploading the full version
You know you're a master when u ditch the pencil and eraser. Only pen this guy don't make mistakes or use guidelines for his work. And when he does make a mistake you don't notice it because he just goes with it and use it in his work.
Legendary. Thank you for sharing!
I own the Omphalos book by Kim Jung gi which in my opinion is his best work because it’s all the stuff he isn’t really allowed to do in public event his more “perverted” work but I believe it’s some of his best work because it’s him at his most free and honest.
I wish I had that book but it's so expensive :(
In an interview with Proko, he had mentioned there still were some drawings which were so offensive that they couldn't be included in Omphalos. He was just beyond anything.
He has arrived again!! Sketchbook series is so good-!! I can rewatch at any time haha!
I’m glad this is up but am I the only one thinking I could go without the extreme close ups on his face or the filming the sketchbook from the side?
I have greatly enjoyed this discussion, quite the eye-opener. Lovely advice from Borson, pure gold.
Finally! Thank you for this:D
When is the next video? :D Love the series, always fun and relaxing to listen to these artists talk about their philosophy and funny ideas as well as ideadevelopment.
RIP Master, you will be missed by many aspiring artists but won't be forgotten, your legacy will be forever remembered, Thank you ")
Rest in peace Master. These videos will help so many people.
You guys have NO IDEA of the impact this series has had on me during quarantine. Thank you so much
Just wow. So good.
What can you say - this guy is incredible.
생각날 때 종종 보는 영상인데
볼 때마다 경이로움
Your style is awesome! Definitely my favorite artist from now. I hope some day I can learn to draw as you, man, haha.
Thank you for this
Rip this legend truly amazing work for ever be missed
Dam, this was 5 years ago! I wonder what his views are now, since he had been diagnosed with Diabetes, I wonder if he has changed his workflow any
He made an interview last week in Proko's channel saying he feels tired more easily, so it kinda changed but not that much (from what I remember)
@@ElMauber he's incredible
Amazing master❤
Speechless!
amazing
omg he is so impressively talented, I´m shocked.
Super nice job👍😊👍😊
Masterful
Master of perspective
Rest in peace we miss you a lot ❤
What a brilliant artist.
Impressive !!!
awesomeness!
why reupload it ? was there any issue with the previous one ?
I think they probably got flagged for nudity and had to take it down because of the youtube bots
Alex O yeah that makes sense, it’s ok to watch someone’s head get blown off, but god forbid there be nudity of any kind; really? Are we still in the fucking puritan tyrannical Victorian ages?
Probably want more views
Timothy O'Neill technically it was pornography but both violate guidelines and the system can’t always be ideal.
@@gordonlewis633 that doesnt make sense, this one already got more views than karl kopinski's which is around 4 mil
when are we getting an other Episode they are so awesome!!

great
So effortless. Every line, every stroke, every movement of the hand is carefree. Not thinking of what will be needed to be done but only what will be on that paper and the rest comes with intuition. A true master indeed.
Gracias :)
thats some wild wild drawin
OMGG Nice crossover!!!
THIS IS WHAT I WAS WAITING FOR
props to the cinematographer for this sketchbook video XD
He made a whole drawing during an interview, meanwhile, I would’ve spent the entire day trying to draw a head
As level 1 artist myself, I would recommend just being grateful for having the time and focus that allows us to draw whatever we want😎🤙🙏. Keep it up!
He was an awesome drawer

Rest in peace

I love the pores in the face closeups hahaha
Damn...Just goes to show what you can do if you keep your head down. I have to change to everyday drawing, instead of when I feel like it.
i feel like i watched this video before, well nice video!
Youre not wrong. This is a re upload. I dont why they deleted it.
This is cool and hilarious
