What topics do you want Kim Jung Gi to cover in the future?
Kazone Art Fish eye perspective!
Kazone Art fish eye perspective and anatomy
Backgrounds-and clothing
Anatomy would be awesome. I love how he gives the bodie that "3d effect" that is only possible when you have a big knowledge in anatomy.
Anything kim covers i will watch thanks for the vids
I swear to God this man has blender installed in his brain
Nice one

RIP Kim Jung Gi.
Best artist of today and all times to come!
damn thats heartbreaking, didnt expect this at all
When I heard about his passing that made me really sad he was so young too
Says "We don't have to draw with 100% perfection or detail" ...
then draws with 100% perfection and detail.
it only looks perfect to us mere mortals
@rioluben25, RELATABLE
It's all contour not a fully rendered image
i think what he means is, you don't have to learn every single piece of car engine to draw a car engine, you can add a bunch of mechanic looking stuff and it will look convincing to anyone who looks at it as long as they are not a car engine specialist. That being said he probably knows every single piece of a car engine lol, probably he does this in things he doesn't know how they look.
@@gloomsdoom649 So what?It looks better than most of the rendered images.
Dont get me wrong, i appreciate the effort of the translator, but i think that is better to have some proper subtitles to hear Kim while he talks
I see what you mean there cody, but then I can't sketch along anymore. so dubbing is actually appreciated in my case.
@@uber1015 u r right i will be distracted to see the subtitle. rather than to see the sketch he made
I'd listen to alot less of these videos if I couldnt draw alongside them, I really aprechiate the dub but that might just be me
I use automatic subtitle translation because I don’t know English well. therefore, for me, it would also be desirable to have subtitles
yeah in all honesty its nice to hear his words but i feel like I'm listening to both of them and they are fighting to be the one head, if you could have turned Kim Jung Gi down a little bit and delayed his speech this would be so much easier to listen to
Kim Jung Gi is and always will be one of the grandmasters of the art world. such a intuitive and understanding teacher.
nah.... this guy was one of a kind. I don't think there was or will be anyone like this man. RIP TRUE MASTER.
I always have a feeling Kim Jung Gi is just too good for me to learn anything from what he teaches if that makes sense.
How should I explain it... Imagine a great martial arts master. He's trying to teach you a new technique but when he shows it to you, you just see him closing in to you and the next thing you know is that you're lying on the ground with no idea what the heck has just happened. It's the same problem here - he's trying to move step by step but his step is larger than the longest of your leaps and he doesn't know how to make smaller ones.
Sometimes it's better to learn from people closer to your level, even if they have a lot to learn themselves.
But also remember even if you don't know what to do with what he says today, you may sleep on it and have more ideas tomorrow, or experience or hear again in a week something you remember him talking about. The more times information is reinforced and applied, the easier it will be to remember and understand. Think back to when you were just a puppy learning math, how abstract and frustrating it was even to do basic arithmetic. Eventually you're exposed to it enough that it starts to make sense.
His ideas here are not too advanced, but he's employing in this demo much more than he's talking about. Even if you understand what he's saying you can't replicate what he's doing here without more knowledge. So that's why you may feel inadequate.
Yes, I can understand this. I still believe he has an amazing gift despite the enormous amount of hard work and careful technique and approach to drawing he has demonstrated through his explanation and teaching. To expect to acquire his skill at a grade-school learning pace is not realistic for me. However, he does reveal techniques that any drawer or artist can use such as using the eyebrow line to establish a perspective. The value in seeing 'people at perspectives that we do not usually see so it is more natural to visualize them and their elements when creating characters. Also, the compositional tactic of creating a contrast between elements that are more simple and complex mechanisms and elements creating simultaneously a better sense of scale and balance for the viewer.
from what i see its somewhat different.
hes just saying some really basic things, the basic thing to consider to draw in 3d. its just these thing is not something you can master overnight despite being the basic of all. giving the illusion of it being some ultra advanced stuff that only the master can understand.
The difference is in his talent, which means he observed and PRACTICED A LOT from when he was just a little kid. It's normal to feel like you are so far behind him, cause it's the truth. What you see when he draws is all his experience put on paper, the one you (we) don't have. However he keeps on telling right tips, like visualizing subjects in 3D. Not an easy thing to do probably but he learned that in his childhood. Yeah.. and a lot of practice of course. Practice is the first rule for basically everything.
Hey why everyone here writing so long long comments I will write a short one
Kinda frustrating to see this dude drawing without perspective line, but also I love how he teach. And his advice are pretty useful and I managed to improve my drawing thanks to that.
I see it as kind of inspiring. just focus on his technique and observe how he simplifies shapes.
Frustrating ? lol I think this is the only man that draws without sketching, the only frustration is that I can't do what he does lol but he is a BEAST...
what size is that sketchpad?
Roberto Torres if you draw and practice the right way. like 10 yrs am sure you can archive that too, maybe even shorter.
@@chiroxxxrt He's not the only one, but the others who do don't seem to be as popular for it as he is. And a lot of the time, they're not nearly as good. Peter Han is one of them. Even Katsuya Terada, someone that Kim Jung Gi has collaborated with, draws like this.
All you have to do is draw with a pen and get confident in your lines it’s not hard, just dedication.
I am in the process of learning Korean, good thing this is translated
Me too
honestly just happy seeing him draw. since i dont know Korean, i image it just distracts anyhow. really love how it seems like he never tried to learn english. for some reason, it makes me respect him more.
It's sorta kinda nice seeing his lines looking squiggly and rough. I guess he's just human after all.
but then again, dude has computer brain and probably he has like a personal Heads Up Display that shows him perspective lines and references.
@@otum2701 Ye, keep it loose, also he is teaching so he's probably drawing really fast (faster)
This mastery shows us why humans are beautifull!
The hoodie he is wearing in the thumbnail, amazing!!!!!!!

Not only does this man have great skill, but I'm convinced that he has a photographic memory.
He doesnt. Even if you had something like that, you wouldnt be able to change the perspective lol
This is probably the best advice on drawing I’ve ever saw I have many MANY books watched videos from all languages and bought courses and if you take what he says word from word with the visual example you will see this should be placed in a book
Truly the best artist that ever lived, the way he draw was like magic
❤️ thanks for the translation, now I can put attention on what he is drawing
Anatomy at an easy price, I'm a young artist with a small budget and look up to master Kim, and cannot easily afford most of the courses. The character design was really good, and I have watched it multiple times.
Invest in some anatomy books. Check out Scott Eaton's recommendations
I have an understanding of anatomy, but the way I draw using a similar visualization method to what Kim Jung Gi uses, even though I'm miles away from his skill level, but I think it would still be useful to understand how he draws and understands anatomy, as he obviously has no difficulty with it. Otherwise, thank you for the suggestions, I will look into them.
proko has free youtube videos on anatomy. highly recommended
This video is fantastic for me since it reveals a comparison of methods such as using facial perspective lines that most artists use initially and highlights the value of a continuity of perspective since Kim visualizes as well as uses eyebrow lines as a keystone. This is the method I used to do; visualizing the head/skull for scale and setting the eyebrow line eyes and nose as a perspective keystone. It is also comforting to know that Kim has avoided drawing an element he didn't feel satisfied with, like the hair and could look at many of his past drawings that were either bald or had helmets on. It is a minor negative in technique perhaps, or oversight but is a major positive in terms of the complexity of design of his helmets and the character elements of his bald characters. I always feel like I am cheating when I turn fists into boxing gloves or hide hands behind a character's back, but I retain confidence that I will gain the skill eventually.
You what!! I really enjoys his voice so much and I don't mind readin subtitles!
But good work anyways!
i clicked for the hoodie lol

The first thing viewers need to know - This video is for those that have minimum 4 years of "DAILY" drawing exercises(with 3 hours daily).

Cool
Guys could you make a more indepth video with Katsuya Terada, like while he is drawing and showing how he draws ?

My mind boggles that 14 people disliked this. He's absolutely amazing.
They disliked the abrasive audio presentation, not the man or his illustrations.
🥺🤙🏼✨ Yo he’s amazing!! I wonder how much he must draw

Can someone ask him how he does 5 point perspective so flawlessly?
Go watch the proko video about the máster Kim Jung Gi. There they ask Kim about perspective among other things.
He is practicing for so many years
He started actually drawing the perspective lines u know? He's been doing it for so long his brain is basically accustomed to visualize them automatically . U think about it 27 years of professional drawing it's not surprising .
@@zthreetwo9874
Well even in 27 years, it’s surprising he made it this far.
Some artist try everyday for hours, and won’t even achieve 10% of this skill.
Kim Jung gi’s talent is simply loving art enough, to overwrite any fear. That’s his talent.
He changed the way of perspective I look at a frog now. 🙃
If I knew how to draw like that, I'd have tried to become partner with Eiichiro Oda!
I would love to know how he can dry mechanics like the ones on the frog's head, he didn't even use a reference thats amazing
Because he has drawn things like this thousands of times.
El Rey de los dibujantes el prodigioso xd
RIP TO THE MASTER
Please don't get me wrong either but I really want to learn from Kazone Art. And i almost bought the course on there for like 250 dollars. But the thing that stops me is that there are no subtitles in these videos. The english audio dub is just unclear because two people are talking at the same time. It is not comfortable to listen to. You have to keep having your ears peaked.

"pre-visualize" what does that mean? To visualize before you visualize?
Basically...try to imagine *everything* before you even touch the tip of your pen on the paper. Try to see in your mind certain things, such as specific details that you want on the character(personality, if something like an object will be on his design and so on) and then try to break it to shapes, then add detail to the shapes, and then finally, start drawing. Don't try to make a piece of art on the first try, don't use the whole paper for one thing...fill the page with things that you think might look nice, then no another page, mash it up to the final, or close to final, design
