this is such a good theme. it totally fits the character of Rey. it’s got a small, playful sound that represents her curiousity and naivety, but builds into a larger one that represents her strength and fierceness
annnd it was done incredibly, look up Rey's Journey it's my favorite piece out of the soundtrack in Episode 8. Her theme appears everywhere and it's so good everytime.
Wonderful. John Williams is an amazing composer. The best movie composer ever I guess. It must be an honor to conduct one of his pieces. It's as good live as it is in the film 😁
This new theme from John Williams is truly beautiful. It's amazing how he can just keep on producing such unique work. A treasure and a great performance.
You know, THIS is the video I keep coming back to. I love this performance even more than Williams' own! There's a layer of emotion in it that no other performance I've seen has been able to capture.
:-))) Any sorcery, mommozz: it seems that they did and editing of the three performances and one was a matinee with different dress. Very clever to see that:-)))
Breathtaking ... absolutely breathtaking. I'm learning this on piano and always when I want to listen to the whole piece and not just the piano rendition I come to you sir. Amazing job
This theme fits perfectly into Star Wars! I don’t even know how to word what I’m trying to say, but it epitomizes a lot of the feeling you get from Star Wars as a whole! It’s just SO STAR WARS-Y
I wish my school orchestra would choose to play this piece. But we are always stuck playing baroque and classical music as our main scores for regional festivals. (Oh well, I still practice this piece by myself by ear anyways.) But you guys sound great!
Well, Carlos, JW IS CLASSICAL MUSIC... You will see, someone soon will understand this and also your orchestra school will perform his work. Tell them that also Berliner Philharmoniker plays JW!!! All the best!
+Simone Pedroni Well that sounds great! I'll recommend JW to my music instructor for this year. Last year, we played the entire St. Paul Suite (even the 2nd movement) I'm sure we can handle something from JW. Thanks!
Filmed in Milan. Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano "Giuseppe Verdi". Not a professional video. 2 iPhones and a camera of the orchestra, but it get the idea of the concert.
Rey is the all mighty super powerful Mary Sue. She can't be beaten. She's the best pilot, best mechanic, best fighter, most powerful Jedi, all without practice, or training.
What do you mean no practice or training. First off ALL Force users have quick REFLEXES - Qui Gon Jinn. She TRAINED in a flight simulator. She scavenged for a living AND was exposed to tech (Kind of like how learning to take apart VCR's was good training for me and I moved onto other electronics learning as I went) PLUS was made to FIX ships by Unkar Plutt. (More you do more you learn and better you get) She was EXPOSED to the Falcon (She said she never put a tracker on it which implies she could have but didn't) She lived on Jakku and had to deal with the Nightwatcher Worm and other beasts plus all the other people who would steal from her. She read Kylo's mind after having hers read in the forest and again in the chair. Luke didn't need to be trained to see the future, it came to him while doing something else. The Force in both the EU/Legends and the new media is quite intuitive. She used emotion to fight him in TFA (NOT a JEDI trait but a Dark side user trait) She was to balance out the Dark in Kylo. As his power grew so did hers. She is NOT the best. Kylo and her are EQUAL. He was injured and he just didn't TRY to kill her in TFA, that was her advantage. Snoke said they were equal and that was what the split Lightsaber signifies.

John Williams and Hans Zimmer best Composers in the 21st century point.
That. was. amazing. Rey's Theme is one of the best pieces of music to come out of the Star Wars films! Truly breath-taking, thank you!
😀
I agree
Theo Marinakis lol you commented on a year old comment
Ollidiah Me too
Kylo's is really good too, it sounds light at the end #Ep9 hints?>/

I can't wait for Rey's theme in Ep VII, out of many things ;)
James Hubbuck did you mean VIII
annnd it was done incredibly, look up Rey's Journey it's my favorite piece out of the soundtrack in Episode 8. Her theme appears everywhere and it's so good everytime.
Perfect
:-))) Thanks!
Wonderful. John Williams is an amazing composer. The best movie composer ever I guess. It must be an honor to conduct one of his pieces. It's as good live as it is in the film 😁
Thanks: yes, is an honor and a live performance makes this work more "alive"...
This new theme from John Williams is truly beautiful. It's amazing how he can just keep on producing such unique work.
A treasure and a great performance.
Yes, Brian, more and more musicians and conductors discover that JW is a great musicians "tout court": proud to be a JW fan from 30 years 😊👍
Perfecto 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
John Williams continues to amaze. The man is indisputably a genius.

You guys really brought out the melody well! Fantastic work. I can't wait for John Williams to develop this theme in episode eight and nine.

I always pick Rey when I play BF2 because her theme plays when you play her
i would loved if you had also done "the scavenger" number from the force awakens. but love this one. good job
amazing! one qestion? to conducting what did you study? thanks
My teacher is the wonderful conductor Giancarlo Andretta.
is there a hint of the cloud city theme around 1:08??
Mmmmm...I do not hear it....
my two favourite film composers are John Williams and Ennio Morricone; no chance you've done some of the latter's work too as well?
Would like to do Morricone...bur he keeps only for his concerts the orchestral parts unfortunately....
that's a shame! I have seen him conduct his pieces live once and it was magical!
Can someone tell me what the guy in black with the chop stick is saying in sign language?
Nothing special. i just feel the music and giving suggestion to the players and the Tempo, of course)
Thanks for watching!
Fuckin' marvelous
Thak you!!!
reyyyy theme like it woooowwww it is ppppppppppppppp double silent lound sound pianos:v
Mysterious, reminds me of Harry Potter theme
*how dare u Jedi's embrace the Rebellion and Light. Fufil your destiny and join us*
We're was this filmed?
Filmed in Milan. Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano "Giuseppe Verdi".
Not a professional video. 2 iPhones and a camera of the orchestra, but it get the idea of the concert.
I'm not hallucinating. There's definitely some Beauty and the Beast influence in there. Hmmmm...HMMMMMM...trying to tell us something John?
It’s very similar to Obi Wan’s theme
how come you
are a UA-camr and a director
Thanks Andy!!!
a little slow but otherwise great!
Well actually we did it at around 100 each tactus, as Williams noted in the score and even faster during the piece...;-)
Thanks!
Isaiah Martinez this is not slow at all!! Go watch the movie. It's just right !
Rey is the all mighty super powerful Mary Sue. She can't be beaten. She's the best pilot, best mechanic, best fighter, most powerful Jedi, all without practice, or training.
Spyder Hahahaha, "no."
We got noh time fo thath

Sadly
Go bicker some place else and let the rest of us enjoy the piece...
At least wait for episode 9. That might explain her powers.
great theme! horribly portrayed character though :/
Amazing!!
Thanks for watching!
