Believe it or not, one of my favorite features on the Velotilt, is the use of the Gates belt drive. I hope this idea catches on in the recumbent world.

never...too heavy, too expensive, less parts less money ,less weight, less resicetance....the shell of the velotilt looks very good !

keep watching, the belt is great for many velos and bicycles. Soon a stites fwd fork with gates belts if they have correct size.
l like chains to, but some people that are retired and just wanta ride, the gates belt is the way to go. If you have a velo company you should offer all kinds of options.

    Why use a unibody ?

all velomobile companies are unibody cf. I would never have a frame/chassis.

Haha. This is such a joke. Mike lecka needs to pass this on to someone that knows what they're doing. That robotized leaning mechanism is clunky, loud, heavy, slow and impractical.

you can be right but i’m retired and having fun. will eventually leave all the heavy stuff and go to springs i been running on the vt mule. To much weight on all their stuff and some of my changes.

That belt will be a lot of trouble. Those pulleys bend the belt well beyond the sensible limits. Bending it both ways will kill its "spine" in no time. The smaller the pulleys the more energy will be lost. This is by far the worst use of a bicyle belt I've ever seen. The combination with a Rohloff will "eat" at least 20 percent of the energy you put into the system. A belt is fantastic with an e-bike. It's complete nonsense with a HPV.

rode the belt for 6 months, its great and coming soon is stites fwd fork added to gates belts if we can get correct length belts.

Alot of people that ride velos and bicycles are retired, offer them both, the gates belt is clean. Some people do not want chains.

gates will work with right length belts, bill stites fwd fork system arriving 12-june-2023. stites uses chain and now gates, at least one belt. Gates sponsors me, they say one mold is 120 grand. Sound lil high.
