      If you find that he won't take the capsules, sprinkle it in his food and mix it up. Over time, you'll bee adding a ton of nutrients without having issues. Start slow and work slowly up.

    Thank you for this video. I have an indoor grow rack I will start growing kale and spinach. Reason is my outside garden requires the use of SEVEN to deter bugs and my indoor garden does not. I hate kale and spinach. But they are super foods my body needs. I already have a dehydrator and a magic bullet to make powders. I dehydrate strawberries and lemongrass, then powder, to make homemade tea bags from coffee filters. It tastes good with a packet of sweetnlow or sugar cube. I have a strawberry patch and huge pot of lemongrass in my garden. It’s two years old, I transfer it indoors when the weather gets cold, into a sunny window for winter. About every two months I cut the growth to make more tea bags. Staying healthy is hard!

    I have always had a problem with getting vegetables in my diet. So I dehydrated them and then powdered them.I put the powdered veggies into a salt shaker the kind you use at the stove when you are cooking You know the one with the bigger holes. I use this to sprinkle the veggies on my sandwich , soup , mashed potatoes. This way I get all my veggies and all the nutrition my body needs BUT be careful that you only dehydrate the vegetables on a low heat 98 degrees to sustain their nutritional value. It takes longer but it is well worth it. Good luck from Canada.

    I did the same way. I used clear capsules. Also I bought a coffee grinder to make the powder finer. I filled with lettuce, spearmint, basil, and celery powders. All homegrown plants and air dried. The only green I used an oven (190 degrees) was the celery. Great greens!

    Thank you for this video! I just made my own green powder and turned them in supplements!! It's so easy! I love that I can put in them the things I need for my body and I know what is in them unlike the store bought ones. I already had all the dried ingredients I needed so making this was very very easy and very cheap compared to purchasing them! I focused on nutrition and anti-inflammatory. I used Spinach, Broccoli, Dandelion Leaves, Garlic, Cinnamon, Turmeric, and Ginger! Boy was it potent! I also added Spearmint because my son is fighting cancer and has a lot of intestinal issues and I thought that might help. We both need the extra nutrition, especially him. Thank you so much!

    I had no idea there were videos on this for a couple years or more. Thanks to your video, I “found” this project. I made greens capsules this morning.

    NOTE: Size 0 is what I used. I was incorrect in my sizing - go to a size 1 if you have trouble swallowing. Size 00 and 000 are larger capsules and take less to get the same equivalent! And the ratio is actually 1 TEASPOON = 7-8 capsules, not 1 tablespoon. I had it in my and when measuring, but kept reading it wrong :D :D :D :D I need more sleep!

      I have done my own capsules for years now, with a capsule maker similar to yours... I buy my capsules by the gags of 5000 it is much cheaper that way. You can also use this capsule filler with oils, like oil tinctures. You simply put your oil in microwave to warm it a bit so it is more fluid and use a pipette to fill your capsules, then proceed the same way as with powder. I keep all my capsules in the freezer. The most common one I make and that we take everyday are moringa since it is higher in mineral and vitamin than all the vegetable and fruits put together... and turmeric ( which you need to mix with black pepper so that it be one bioavailable ) my husband and have been taking those daily for years now. My capsule are the double 00 so I need less in a day, as you mentioned. People would save a lot of money with all kind of unhealthy store bought capsules if they would make theirs own. Thank you for making this video, more propre needs to be educated on natural food and on healthy eating. I just found your channel today and subscribed. I am a retired RN from Ontario Canada ...I think I will learn many things here. My plan for today is to go back and watch your older videos...

    I think this is a great suggestion/idea. This is how I used to take Kratom when I need it for pain. And was thankful when I discovered making my own capsules because it tastes horrid! But I ended up having to find a different solution because for some reason they sat in my stomach/throat wrong. Don't know if it was because the gelatin to make the capsules is thicker, or made of something different .. I don't know. I even used the tiniest size and they still sat in my stomach wrong. But I have stomach issues to begin with. Now I use Japanese Oblique Discs (rice paper). For me, it's so much easier and faster, virtually tasteless and I have no stomach issues. I wrap up any where from an 1/8 to 1 teaspoon. Fold it like a ity bitty burrito and swallow it with water as usual each time I need a dose or fold up several. (Just can't have water on your hands or they melt)

    A few months ago I started thinking about putting some of the powders in capsules but that is as far as I got. Thank you for sharing this. I don't know why I never thought of doing this until recently. I will have to research to find a contraption that will hold a much smaller size. If it doesn't make sense to take many many small capsules I will continue with dumping my powders in my food.

    • @ThePurposefulPantry
      @ThePurposefulPantry  3 роки тому

      Dumping your powders in your food is the best way - but these can be a good boost when you need it. Remember - I put it in my notes - I made a mistake in sizing - it's size 1 that is smaller. Size 0 is the standard capsule size. 00 and 000 are larger.

    My first thought was Ground Control, Major Tom, and Protein Pills, but this is not the Space for that Oddity. Question..How well does the capsule dissolve in liquid, food or beverages when cooking if one wanted or needed to add a specific amount of spices, sweetener, nutrients, ect.. to a mix, meal or whatever concoction one needs to add it to. Good Video. Thank You...

    • @ThePurposefulPantry
      @ThePurposefulPantry  9 місяців тому +1

      Don't use the capsule to do that - that's when you just have the regular powder to add to anything you want to use. The powder is fiber and minerals/vitamins and doesn't dissolve the way the dissolvable supplements like AG1 or SuperBeets do. But if you're using them in everyday cooking/broths, it won't matter.

    That price is very little compared to buying those 'green' powdered drinks to take every day. Also, couldn't you use those powders in casseroles, loafs, etc. maybe even baking. For fussy children, it might be a good way to get the benefits into their food without them actually having to eat their spinach.

      You can extrapolate that from what I gave you at the end of the video - it depends on what's going in, the size capsules you use, etc.

    Darcy how did get into this. Is there books that do give ratios. I have always been interested in this but never knew how to start, the true benefits. Please share your thought process and how you got started.
    When I made my green powder I. Always thought I'd much rather just take a pill.

      Here's something that will help about greens:

    I went "green" crazy and dried a LOT of greens. The question now is, I want to powder them and make capsules. I know commercial products have preservatives in them, but these obviously won't. I want to seal the capsules in a Mason jar using my FoodSaver jar attachment. Do you know how shelf stable the capsules would be or if that's even doable?

    • @ThePurposefulPantry
      @ThePurposefulPantry  3 роки тому

      Same as if you were keeping them without - six to nine months for powders.

    I've just been on Amazon, but the link for the tray system you have no longer works. They don't appear to have anything close to it right now. I guess I'll keep drying my greens, and wait to find the system like yours.

      Yes, I do believe that's in the description box that Amazon pulled them - you can find them on Ebay and at some health-food related websites and stores.

      Unfortunately - I've been chasing that link for weeks now. Amazon seems to have pulled all stock off their site. You can check Ebay or other websites that stock it. I'm sorry.

    The middle plate releases all the top capsules from the capping plate all over the place 5 times when I flipped it over. Yes, I’m using 00 capsules on the 00 machine. Anyone else have this going on?

    • @ThePurposefulPantry
      @ThePurposefulPantry  Рік тому

      I've never experienced that, so the only thing I can recommend is making sure they are completely aligned so that the capsules are inserted into each other. I've had a few capsules not work, but never whole trays.
