I had a 1980 Biarritz years ago, and it had the Oldsmobile (350?) gas engine. I would say it was in about as good shape as yours. What's funny is that from the inside of the car, the gas engine had the exact same rumble as the diesel. Kinda loud, but you don't hear the clatter like you do from the outside. I enjoyed it for about 6 months until all the electricals (windows, door locks, climate control, seat belt chime, rear level control) started malfunctioning. The thing was a bomb, but at least I can tell people I once owned a Cadillac.

2 Oldsmobiles and 3 Cadillacs and one Chevrolet long box pickup in the collection, all 5.7 Diesels. The early examples were 120 hp, later dropped down to 105. My Eldorado is a 83 w/digital dash, fresh engine and transmission, recently had to replace the master cylinder and service the 4 wheel disc brake system, stops great again. Determined to turbo charge the 85 Fleetwood, needs the boost I'll tell you, have the parts, now for the design phase.

I saw just about every possible option, except for power seat memory... I couldn't see the door console, does it have the number 1 and 2 memory buttons? (It was only available on the Biarritz with the triple small motor seat drive instead of the traditional one big motor with a transmission.)

I just love these old Eldos (mostly 1979 to 1985). Being a diesel is just icing on the cake. I fully understand all the hate towards these, especially the pre 1981's with the weaker engines. But even on the 78 to 80's, they would do well for those who knew how to take care of them and how to drive them. In a nutshell, the farmers and OTR truckers who owned them had much better luck than those living in the town/city who drove shorter trips and really had no idea how to handle the diesel's. Also, for those who drove them more easy had better luck. I was always told to drive them like there was an egg under the accelorator pedal.
Is this one for sale or going up for sale? Where?
