I was nervously watching as sparks occurred with your testing the pumps , and what I assumed might be a source of gasoline fumes from a open tank source and a leaking old fuel line …

Good content -seeing a fuel pump put in -haven't actually had to do one of those before for whatever reason -lucky I guess. Great seeing you two working together in ultimate man cave collector car heaven. That thing needs a good detail and wash now to bring out that burgundy!!!

Interesting video and educational. I would have tested the new pump before putting everything back together, just play it safe. Maybe you did that and didn't show it. I don't know, but that's the only thing I noticed I would have done differently. Really nice to have a lift and the jack to hold the tank up, plus a third man to help out a bit.

This issue you've been having with the fuel pump reminds me of my first car, which I think had the same problem. I had a '92 Lumina and it stalled whenever I came to a stop. I just assumed it was because the car had well over 220,000 miles on it, but it never occurred to me that it could've been the fuel pump. If it'd gotten it fixed, I might've had that car for longer than I did.

Nice job guyz…..keep that beautiful Coup. I always felt the coups were guys night out for ride around town and the DeVille was for ladies night, taking the girls out to dinner. We would put them in the back on the way to dinner and the guys in the back loaded on the way home….good fun, great cars.

So, what’s the final outcome on the 1980 2 door Fleetwood with 58K miles on it.

My mother had a 1985 Fleetwood Brougham DeElegamce. I remember that car gave my mom plenty of trouble. The first day she bought it, the car keep stalling out after driving it 5 miles. The tranny gave out at 56000 miles. I remember the car was a nightmare.
Wonder if this is similar to how to replace the fuel pump on a 1987 cadillac deville.
I like this caddy. Just need to clear those 2 rear fuller panels.

Depends on the environment. If it's dry, probably not.
Hopefully while you got it in the air you will change the fuel filter also FYI couldn't hurt a thing !!!!!😁😁👍🙏

With my grand marquis the air bags deflated everytime you turned the engine off. And would air back up when the car was started. Make sure it'd not just that.
Actually the good years were factory they also came on 84-85 eldorado convertibles they were on my dads 84 fleetwood brougham! And also GM USED UNIROYAL also in those years general tires i remember seeing them on the new cars at the dealerships!
New fuel filter too, whenever you replace a fuel pump...fyi..I would replaced the whole thing, sender too.
