I love how you treat your animals. Our SPCA here in Western NY has taken in hundreds of animals this summer, abused, neglected, left outdoors in the sun with no water and it infuriates me. Your kind treatment of your pets is heartwarming. Your daily positive attitude is refreshing. We lost our 42 year old son last September and when I feel overwhelmed with grief, watching you and listening to you somehow makes me feel better, so thank you.
@@janhill2079 thank you. iIt has been very hard. He was my first born and I miss him so much. My only sibling, my sister, just passed away on Tuesday. 7/18. Glad I can watch Kayla to feel happier.
Dot from UK Hi Kayla, that yarn looks like real hard work to me. I was watching Diane Antone (yesterday) she's an artist nothing to do with yarn but please read on, she said something interesting about You tube. That they like not only thumbs up and watchers to subscribe but also to leave comments which helps you to improve your channels ratings. I don't always comment every time but I do thumbs up and subscribe every time I watch you. In future I will leave comment, she said more than 5 words makes a big difference to your ratings. I hope lots of people see this, mention it to your viewers and see if it makes a difference. I love watching you even though I don't crochet myself. I'm more of an artist but we are both creative which is a wonderful thing. You are so positive with all your problems. When I had Cancer back in 2009 my sense of humor kept me going and I'm still here. Lots of love to you, big daddy and the boys from the UK, Dot x.
Hello. I just came across your channel and I had to subscribe. I'm relatively new to crocheting. My grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was a teenager as I spent a lot of time with her and it was something we shared together. As I got older and she passed, the practice fell out of my life. Now, 45 years later I've decided to pick it back up again and it has brought back wonderful memories of my gran and how much I enjoyed creating. Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself to the group and to you Miss Kayla. I have family who live in Lafayette, LA and I have lived there myself several times in my life. It's so different from where I live now and I love going back when I can. There's nothing like culture and diversity of LA anywhere else in the US. Nice to meet you and I look forward to watching your videos from the past and any new ones you add. Be blessed!
Hi Kayla! I have used facet yarn a lot. I have made prayer shawls, hats, cowl, scarves and doll clothes. It takes a little to get use to. It is not the easiest yarn to frog. The end product is worth it. It is a roving yarn.
Hi kayla, the first knot would have put me off, but the colours are beautiful! And it crocheted up lovely. Your square looks great!. I personally would not like to use it.i was knitting along with you whilst you crocheted. Phoebe is adorable, woof! Woof Phoebe. Love to you and big daddy, mandy united Kingdom xxx😊
I agree that roving yarn is difficult to frog, but if I'm being honest, some of the most beautiful projects I've made have been with a roving style yarn. The stitch definition is superb and the drape is so nice. Roving is not for everyone, though.
I have some of this yarn. It is similar to red heart unforgettable, lion brand landscapes, and ice rainbow. I really like that type of yarn. I have knitted hats and crocheted shawls. They always turn out beautiful.
It reminds me of Unforgettable or Landscapes---definitely a roving type yarn. I never have figured out what to make with that type of yarn. Today I drove to Joann's & bought a skein of that Retro stripe. I liked your granny square bag so much im copying you! I'll. be working on that this evening.
Have not used L&T Facets, but have used Red Heart Unforgettable, which is similar. Made a Wickedly Handmade Wild Oleander Hooded Scarf and my daughter loves it.
Hi Kayla, I'm playing catch up again lol. I've never had the pleasure of working with that yarn. It's a mixed bag of comments especially about the frogging. Take care, I hope you have a good evening.
That's a really pretty square, love the colors, but I haven't used that yarn but I did use something similar and hated it. I wouldn't buy it just for that reason. Prayers, love and hugs my very dear friend 🙏💛🤗
I have not used this yarn before. But I don't think that I would like it at all. They texture of watching you use it, the beginning of thickness then thin. The yarn color is pretty. Thanks for sharing. Love seeing your fur babies.
Hey Miss Kayla! Yes, i have used this "yarn" before. I made a mobius shawl with it, and it's not really yarn. To me, it's more like the fibers BEFORE it's spun into yarn. It's very hard to work with, as it is a roving yarn. It also doesn't frog well. Don't get me wrong, it's gorgeous when it's finished, but it worked on my nerves so bad, I said "never again" lol. I even bought the black and gray color called Smoke, but i don't want to use it. I wish you luck in whatever you decide to crochet. If you can get through all the downfalls, it really is very soft and beautiful. I will post a photo for you of my mobius shawl on Facebook. Thanks for sharing! Huggggs!❤❤
Hi Kayla it's Sandy from Austin. The reason that yarn is different is it's roving yarn. Yea it's different and usually has no give. Anyways you might already know and I missed that part. Anyway see you again soon sweet friend.
Kayla, have you ever tried using a Yarn guide on your finger? This yarn reminds me of Red Heart Unforgettable, it’s a texture thing for me too. I use a ring yarn guide when working with textures that bother me. It also helps with my tension. I bought enough unforgettable to make a Granny Square sweater and put it down before I finished the first skein. It is beautiful yarn!❤❤❤🧶🧶🧶
Yes, I've used this yarn. I designed a shrug with the colorway Lapis (shades of blue). It's a Roving yarn that goes from thick to thin, VERY thin in some spots was what I discovered. So thin that I had to cut some lengths out & re-attach. It's been awhile so I don't remember if I had to cut pieces out on each skein I used. It is a horrible yarn to frog, in that it catches on itself & refuses to let go, AND in some places the yarn seems to not be spun & it will pull apart from itself. The colorway I used worked up beautifully, though... the stitch definition is there, for sure. I won't buy this yarn again. Thank you for your review, Kayla! 💕
Hi Kayla. Yes, I've knitted hats from Facets yarn. They worked out very well. My favorite thing I've made with it was a crocheted Virus Shawl. I forget the color way I used, but it was deep jewel tones, and it turned out gorgeous. I also knitted a shawl with it, and it was also beautiful. The yarn is a roving style yarn, so it can be a bit difficult for some people to work with. I love it, but then I tend to like roving style yarns. It frogs and reworks fairly well, in my experience.
I haven’t got any and don’t have no interest in getting any. I felt in Michaels and my skin didn’t like it. So I know I wouldn’t be able to crochet with it. It does have some beautiful colors though. Thanks for sharing, Kayla! Have a good evening!!❤❤❤
We have a similar yarn in the Uk called Cygnet boho spirit. It is not the easiest to frog. I have made a couple of ponchos with it. I do enjoy roving yarns. That looks a beautiful colour
I absolutely love the colors of that yarn. I bought a different shade some years ago because it had fall colors. Honestly I wasn't wild about it once I started to use it. It kept knotting and twisting on me as I pulled it out from the middle. I stopped using it and just haven't touched that yarn again. I know others may totally love it and that's okay.
I have made a hat and eternity scarf from the same yarn in violette. It's so soft. But I find that the yarn curls as it comes out and make sure you don't make any mistakes because it intertwines with itself. If I used it again it would have to be a special project.
That’s roving style yarn similar to Red Heart Unforgettable. It’s suppose to go thick to thin. It’s the nature of the yarn. I love this yarn. It makes gorgeous wearables. I made a toddler sweater with it and it came out so beautiful
I have used a roving yarn before and I didn't like using it either. Terrible to frog. I have never bought that yarn because of the type of yarn it is. Thanks for the review.😊
Love working with roving yarn. Stitch definition is awesome.. Never had a problem frogging. Had to make sure my tension was not tight when working with the yarn and let it slide through my fingers.
I do enjoy Roving yarn, it has a beautiful sheen {The ones I buy} I have made a cowl out of the facets yarn and I have a granny square afghan I am making out of the facets sparkle yarn. I haven't had much issue if I have to Frog a project but I have found if you find a end that is still wrapped well it is easier for those first few rows. I am making a afghan in Hobbii Carnivals which is a roving yarn as well, as roving gives a beautiful color change.
I used roving type yarns before I knew better. They are impossible to frog. They are beautiful but...I made 2 sweaters and wanted to make a cardigan but I don't think I will. I want to enjoy the process plus it drapes kind of flimsy.
lovely colors... but for me that texture would make me crazy !! after a looong string of obscenities it would get drop kicked as far as I could manage ....
Kayla, This seems to be similar to Unforgettable by Red Heart. I made an amigurumi dragon with Unforgettable and found it to be a pain to work with. I am planning to make a shawl with some more that I have and see if the project makes the difference. If you twist the tail, that will help.
Hi Kayla. Very pretty yarn but just watching you it does look difficult to work with. Not sure I'd have patience for it. I think may have some similar, different brand, that I got from Ollie's. If so, hope it isn't as difficult. The little purses will be pretty though. Take care and good luck with your dentist appointment tomorrow.
I haven't bought it yet but soon. It teminds me of RH Unforgetable. I made a pretty sweater out of the unforgetable. Didn't like that ut didn't frog well though. Have fun with it.
I have seen this yarn in Michael’s and been tempted by the colors, but have never purchased it due to it being a roving type of yarn. Hi Kayla I haven't used that yarn yet. They do have pretty colors. It looked like it was a bit hard to work but I would try it if I can ever get my hands on some take care.
Love the Summer Sunrise and you are right all the colors of Mardi Gras! Beautiful!! I need to get this yarn! ❤❤❤ it looks very nice, good stitch definition. Thanks for sharing! ❤️🤗
I’ve used the Landscapes yarn from Lion Brand and it’s similar to Facets. It looks beautiful finished(a capelet type shawl) but I didn’t like working with it. I didn’t like the yarn when it got bigger and seemed to puff out. I just finished 2 granny bags for my granddaughters and they love them.

The colors are beautiful I myself have never used it before. Blessed day to you all and continued prayers. 🦜
Very pretty colors. It Looks a little like Lion Brands ice cream yarn. Thanks for sharing this yarn with us
