Your son is very handsome and respectful and well behave, you are doing a good job. Love your home natural videos, they are real and we love you for that!!!
Thank you Bruce for assisting your mother. I put my yarn Winder on a cutting board so I can have it on my lap in my recliner because I have back problems and that's more comfortable for me
Loved this video and the cute 11yr old Bruce. He did a great job. From experience from rolling hundreds of balls with my Mom have him put his hands out forward. Yarn comes off smoother.
Great video! You have some precious children. It's always a pleasure to see you include them in your videos. I also tie a knot in the end to hold yarn in place. I love my yarn winder. It makes it so much easier. And helps keep yarn Organized..
The buggy has a battery which is powered by the wheels as they turn. They need it for running lights at night and of course for their boom box and speakers. My amish story when we first moved to PA at the walmart watched a young amish fellow come out with a huge speaker, which he proceeded to hook up to something in the back of his buggy. Then he tested by playing his boom box as he steered the horse and buggy out of the walmart's parking lot!
What a handsome little fella I know you are proud of him. He needs to make a video and tell one of his stories. I have a son, grown now,but when he was little he was a non stop talker also. He would ask strangers in the grocery store all kinds of questions like where do you live, what's your phone number .I finally started leaving him at home with his Dad....LOL I like "The Proper Pineapple Posse " that is cute.. Good video and super nice family
Your son, Bruce is adorable. That giggle. :) love seeing the dolls in the background. I use a nostepinne to make my yarn cakes, since I don't have a ball winder. It's portable and fits in your bag and you can take it anywhere.
Lol... Love your videos... How real and fun they are... You guys look like you are having so much fun... My daughter said we are the P.P.P ( proper pineapple people)... Thank you for the review maybe my daughter would help me when I get one...
Thanks for making me laugh! I had a great time watching this video. Your son is so cute and such a great helper. You always put a smile on my face. I like your "hot mess" comment.
I love my L&T Yarn Winder and went to Amazon and bought a Umbrella Swift Yarn Winder to hold the Hanks of yarn. Worked great and saved lots of time. The cakes came out beautiful!
I bet Bruce will have his own channel one day and it'll be as fun as his Mom's!!! I am still smiling... Thank you both for such a great time!!! I now know that I will be buying a swift... I don't have any cute assistant to help me and I have some hanks to wind. I bought a couple of knock off winders and had to return them because of missing items or damaged in shipping. I bought a Stanwood 10 ounce winder. I love it!!!!!! It is worth the cost. My hubby says the nylon gears will last me a long time. He is very happy with it too. He doesn't have to help wind up the yarn now when I start a project.
I love the video....I love how you allow the children to be a big part of it. You are entertaining and fun,,, while learning. By the way...I just love your hair. Keep the videos coming...I need them....lol
Holly I love all your videos... this video wasn't a hot mess it was a great video i loved it..... my birthday is April 3rd so my birthday is next month also... YAY.... THANKS FOR KEEPING me entertained I love watching you as I crochet
"The Pineapple Posse" or "Pineapple Peeps" either way I'm in. Your son is sooo adorable. What a handy little machine, I think I might need one to wind up scrapes and partial skeins. Love the cow clip... I always love me a good "HOT MESS" once in a while. Thanks for sharing.
Your Son is adorable. You're right about his dimples they're so cute. My daughter has dimples too and she's my little cutie. I enjoyed your rabbit trails. I think I might buy myself a yarn winder. I normally do it with a paper towel centre, it always works for me lol. Love your channel. X
I just love 😍 your videos. You have beautiful kids. This video remembers me when my kids helped me with the sewing and making balls of yarn . Thank you for sharing this wonderful video.
Oh my. Seeing you do this reminded me of when I was holding the yarn while my grandmother rolled it into a ball (by hand) Now I am a great grandma. I don't know if my granddaughters would have the patience to hold Yarn for me. My 6 year old great grandson might though.
Such a great video. Your helper is awesome! He did a great job. ❤️❤️ Some yarn you may have to cut depending how many ounces, like Caron 1 pound you would probably make into 2-3 balls. Helps to crank with hand and guide with the other.
I think for partial, left over portions of skeins of yarn it is fine. But, unless yours is different, mine won't hold nearly a skein of RHSS. It is cool, though. I want to get a larger one someday. But, then I really don't know that I'd ever want to wind ALL my skeins of yarn into balls when I don't when I may use them. Of course, there is the storage part -- the cakes would stack nicely I think, and I would wind the bands of paper around them and store them in the center of the ball so I would always know what kind of yarn I had. Anyway, I think you did quite well with it. I love to read Amish books. I do realize that they are the authors depiction and not necessarily what a real Amish family would be like. But I have been fascinated with the Amish for a very long time. I appreciate your stories today. Thanks!
I loved your video---lots of fun and informative, too! And I thought your assistant was terrific... :) Your kids are awesome...makes me miss when mine were smaller, but I have a 2-year-old granddaughter, so she likes to"help" Mawmaw!
I tie a little knot in the end of the yarn so It stays in the slot better. I don’t know if It matters but I turn the handle from Bruce to you like a bike pedal - over the top first. If I go too fast the yarn comes off the cake and onto the shaft. Makes a messy ball and so frustrating. I think this style winder (mine is from Joann’s) is fine to start with but most people end up upgrading to the style where the shaft points up. With those you can wind a larger cake. With yours you are limited to the space between the shaft and the bottom of the winder. You can’t wind a skein of redheart into a single cake but It does hold about half of a skein. I think to some extent wonders are like crochet hooks - some people like this brand and some people like that brand. Bruce is very handsome. I love his smile and laugh.
So funny. I have a similar ball winder that I love (Amazon special) Bruce was a star & should be in more of your video's Almost done my shawl so I hope to enter that. xx Jane
Hahaha your son is a handsome cutie, you two make a great video very funny, couldnt stop smiling the entire video, helps to lift up spirits. Great mother son relationship and great video.
He is adorable. Awesome assisting! I have the knit picks winder and its a little wiggly but has worked well and frequently for about 4 years now. I can't complain. :D
That was a fun review! I don't know if I would get a yarn ball winder or not. I've never bought a hank of yarn! But, this video make md want to buy one! Thanks for you and your son making it look so fun!
Bruce is adorable! I need a yarn winder. Read somewhere, someone suggested placing the label with all the info in the center hole of the yarn to keep the info handy. Of course on that yarn, it probably wouldn’t help being that it’s in German. 😊
Thank you for the review of this product. I was thinking about buying one of them. After seeing your video if I decide to buy another ball winder I will go with a different brand. I bought my ball winder years ago but can't remember the brand. Your son is adorable and he did just fine with the yarn.. Love your videos, they are always such fun.
Sooo entertaining, and that clip of the cows was hysterical! I would say that I watched the whole video so I could see if the clip was there, but I was so entertained by that cute boy (seriously cutest ever!) that I had to finish watching it anyway. Holly you are the best! If only you knew how many times I outright laughed during the video. I will be watching more. So glad I discovered you.
Holly, you and Bruce are so cute! What a day brightener this video is! Not a 'hot mess' at all. Thank you for showing us the yarn ball winder. Creative Grandma made a video review of the YAZY Craft yarn ball winder. She said it was $14. You might be interested in looking at that. ☺️ Oh yeah! My birthday is April 15.
First of all....I have to say your son is adorable and very handsome! I love your videos I try to watch them at work and when I get home I put your videos on to unwind, learn something new and smile...you make my day especially when I've had a stressful day at work ( which is almost everyday). When you were naming the the fan base and said "Proper Pineapple Posse" I loved that! My husband said " Now say that 5 times fast! "
Holly please thank you for another great video!! Bruce your cohost/ guest star was fantastic!! I purchased the same ball winder with my 60% coupon too but I have waited until I could watch your review. I may need to borrow your swift 😉. Keep up the good work.
I have one of these. It's not my favorite. If you go to fast then it falls off and tangles. It only makes smaller yarn cakes. So if you have a 7oz skein then you would have to cut the yarn and split it into two cakes. I recently got a stanwood yarn ball winder for $70. I find the stanwood better to use. There is however some assembly required. But can make cakes 10 oz cakes or larger depending on how tight you wind it.
Hi Holly, you make me laugh, love your channel. Keep up your amazing work (even though it’s you just being yourself which I admire) looking forward to see what you’ve been up to in your next video taping 😉
I live pretty close to you then if you live in the lower part of Michigan close to all the Amish communities, I love the farmers markets here only when the Amish are participating tho because I swear they have the best fresh foods. I love your channel and your kids are so adorable I hope my daughter is this interested in my craft when she gets older
So, I purchased this. Whomever wrote the directions omitted the part of placing the yarn through the piece that goes back and forth on the side. I use that and it works wonderfully. Of course it manual but I am retired military so I am accustomed to manual labor.
Well, this review was very entertaining & enlightening! Bruce is a great assistant, ball winder did an ok job & you Miss Holly are so much fun! You made my morning cares leave for awhile & made me smile! Hoppy Easter to you & your family!! ✝️💛🍍💛
My 11 year old son always helps me roll my new skeins into balls! He is NOT super talkative, so it gives us time to talk. I am really getting sick of my yarn balls bouncing all over and I am wanting a winder. Thanks for the review!
Great video. Your son is so sweet! I will have to try my Boye Electric Bas Winder. When I bought it I didn’t have a swift. I bought an Amish Swift. I have no place to attach the umbrella type. The Amish swift stays right flat on the table. Easy to assemble. It has to be taken apart to store though which I don’t care about. Love the cows!
I got a Knit Picks ball winder. I like it. I think the instructions on yours meant to tie a knot in the tip of your yarn and cut it off after winding. The knot keeps the yarn in the slot pretty nicely. If you put a tiny bit of tension on the yarn as its winding the cakes come out really nice. The cow clip was crazy!! I know nothing about what cows do all day but I've never seen a herd charging around when I've driven by them. I love my yarn winder but it's a different style and the spindle points up at an angle. I do use the cake from the outside in with very fine yarn because it can get tangled up some thing awful. Have fun and I want to learn to make socks too. Step by step learning video.
You only need to cut if you are making multiple balls. I have the same one I like it. My Swift’s are college now. The next time I have a hank of yarn I’ll send you a video. I use to TV trays, one as a swift and the winder is connected to the other, you need to hold the yarn to control the tension which determines how tightly and neatly wound your cake becomes. definitely worth it to me especially since I don’t need it everyday. I even cake my skeins.
Your son is very handsome and respectful and well behave, you are doing a good job. Love your home natural videos, they are real and we love you for that!!!
A handsome young man . Thanks for the demonstration. I am going to get one ❤️
This video made me giggle! Bruce is adorbs! Love your relationship together. I have never owned a yarn winder, so this was informative.
Love your mother and son collaboration😀. Bruce needs to be in ALL your videos.
Thank you Bruce for assisting your mother. I put my yarn Winder on a cutting board so I can have it on my lap in my recliner because I have back problems and that's more comfortable for me
Awesome tip!!!
Bruce, your parents are so lucky to have you. You are a wonderful help. I wish I had you as my swifter
Loved this video and the cute 11yr old Bruce. He did a great job. From experience from rolling hundreds of balls with my Mom have him put his hands out forward. Yarn comes off smoother.
I wind my cakes by hand - a swift and a winder are on my wishlist! Improvised yesterday with 2 big cans of soup on a tray table - worked like a charm!
Great video! You have some precious children. It's always a pleasure to see you include them in your videos. I also tie a knot in the end to hold yarn in place. I love my yarn winder. It makes it so much easier. And helps keep yarn Organized..

Loved this video along with your very amusing Amish stories. Nice little human swift, he will do just fine.
Loved your video, lots of fun with your handsome assistant!
Lol... Love your videos... How real and fun they are... You guys look like you are having so much fun... My daughter said we are the P.P.P ( proper pineapple people)... Thank you for the review maybe my daughter would help me when I get one...

Keep your cohost!! You guys were great- loved how natural and funny!! Real life 💕
I have a Stanwood ball winder and it is fantastic!! It will hold a whole bunch of yarn, and very easy to use.
I love the video....I love how you allow the children to be a big part of it. You are entertaining and fun,,, while learning. By the way...I just love your hair. Keep the videos coming...I need them....lol

That was a fun review! I don't know if I would get a yarn ball winder or not. I've never bought a hank of yarn! But, this video make md want to buy one! Thanks for you and your son making it look so fun!
Hi Holly what a lovely helper you have. Thanks for the video, that's a lot of cows wow.

I have the yarn winder you have and works great. I pull from the middle and it goes beauty fast. I'm looking for a bugger one that doesn't cost a lot.
I live pretty close to you then if you live in the lower part of Michigan close to all the Amish communities, I love the farmers markets here only when the Amish are participating tho because I swear they have the best fresh foods. Y'all are adorable!!! 💜
Loved the video and your co-host. 😊👏🏽 I was hoping to get the large Stanwood winder from Amazon
My goodness that was the Best tutorial. I needed a good laugh😂
Well, this review was very entertaining & enlightening! Bruce is a great assistant, ball winder did an ok job & you Miss Holly are so much fun! You made my morning cares leave for awhile & made me smile! Hoppy Easter to you & your family!! ✝️💛🍍💛
Thank you so much for sharing hugs Shelley 💜🌹💜
My 11 year old son always helps me roll my new skeins into balls! He is NOT super talkative, so it gives us time to talk. I am really getting sick of my yarn balls bouncing all over and I am wanting a winder. Thanks for the review!
I love to see the chaos that is your family life Holly, just like the rest of us lol
The cohost was great. So cute, I found that boys talk way more than girls.
You are so much fun to watch.
You will get a better wound came of yarn if you put a little tension on the yarn being wound....it would probably help with the knots to !
I just got my last night with a 40 percent off coupon was happy u did a video on it gonna use mine later
Tell your husband he was brave for going up to that gate with the angry dogs and charging cows! Lol.
I live in WA, we have very few Amish :) I have a different ball winder that you can turn either way, I've had it for about 8 years and it still works great :) it is called Vktech Swift Yarn Fiber String Ball Wool Winder Holder Hand Operated for about $16 at Amazon.
I'm getting married next month on the 16th :)
Loved the video and your co-host. 😊👏🏽 I was hoping to get the large Stanwood winder from Amazon but it's not available. 😞
I love my yarn winder but it's a different style and the spindle points up at an angle. I do use the cake from the outside in with very fine yarn because it can get tangled up some thing awful. Have fun and I want to learn to make socks too. Step by step learning video.
adorable boy, Bruce has a nice smile.
i have the stanwood yarn winder. cost around $70. it makes 10 oz cakes. i LOVE it. very easy to use. totally worthy.
Great video and your son is adorable and did a great job. Have a fun rest of the week :-)
Love it! You are so real and life is good! 😀
Bruce was a great helper!
Handsome assistant. Thanks for the tutorial. ♥️🤗🤗
I know this is an older video, but I had to say, I just really enjoy you and your family!
Thank you 😊💕🍍
I THINK THE YARN BALL WINDER WAS GREAT, I THINK I WILL HAVE TO GET ONE...
😊 What a fun video! Bruce did a great job as your helper! Do you know of any good online yarn stores to by mill ends?
What a lovely guy, he can be my yarn swift anytime.
What a good idea , thanks for the tv tray tip .
I have one, don't like the big hole it leaves when I'm done but it's all good, it's better than keeping it the way it is when I first get the yarn
