I like how the narrator is far scarier outside of the game. Makes you think even more critically. The end is never the end (after all) is never the end is never the end. . .
I remember when I watched this for the first time ever and thought "This must be madness."
Now, one game and five watches later, all I can say is that this trailer is the only thing that makes sense anymore.
This game is basically what staring into the eyes of an elder God does to someone

There were two narrators, although the other was only used in the museum ending.

I love how these trailers present the most ridiculous setpieces in the game so seriously. This is the whole area with the adventure line while he's wandering around.
I think 1:43 is quite powerful. Chilled goes from being outsider playing the game to being part of the game itself. Notice how he goes from talking about 'Stanley' to being Stanley himself ("Tell me why I'm in this hallway!")
Can't wait for this!
If there's ever another hijacking of a TV broadcast in the history of humankind, I want the message to be voiced by Kevan Brighting in-character as the narrator of The Stanley Parable. The culmination of meta humor would be phenomenal.
That could've been a great publicity stunt for Ultra Deluxe
It would probably cause a "War of the Worlds broadcast" level nation wide panic
I'm still stunned by how the narrator's voice can go from calm and gentle to more of stern and borderline insulting tone, and finally to a satirical and sinister tone all in a matter of seconds. I can't wait to play this.

@@Sonichero151 Okay, the Narrator is definitely disturbed by a margin, but he can never be Bugs Bunny changing the backdrop repeatedly on Daffy, then changing his ENTIRE DESIGN into something outlandish, then putting him in a plane only to take away both the plane AND his Parachute, maintaining his anonymity all the way through! :D
And honestly, STILL better than when Elmer Fudd got a chance to give "dat squewy wabbit" a taste of his own medicine. ;)

He actually did do a real Lets Play of this game. Thing is, I was half-expecting to see that it was nothing but a scarecam of Chilled hanging himself in his own room, muttering how he must never go back and that _he_ can't make him...!
I like how the second half of this is just the adventure line path without the line.

Regardless of how this game's full release goes, I will always give props to these guys: They know how to make a trailer.
Is it weird that I can foresee a conversation between the Narrator and GLaDOS as being something that'd both be terrifying and utterly awesome?

stanley parable so wonderfully conveys "Devil" , the situation you absolutely cannot escape, there is no way out, you try and try, but ultimately things are more out of order after you try everything.
this narrator shows the power of voice and words very well. It is very influencing.
This blew my mind.
Watching this again for old time's sake, I hadn't sighed out in such true happiness for a long time... Bless this game
The Narrator at the end there reminds me of two people:
1. Rod Serling at the beginning of every old Twilight Zone episode.
2. The Ghost Host from the Haunted Mansion ride. O_o

this was great. I felt like the narrator was talking to me, a causal UA-cam let's play watcher. I felt called out
The reason why The Stanley Parable's storytelling is so unique and incredibly awesome is because it 'knows' you are the player and not someone observing a character in its story.
By watching a Let's Play you lose that connection because you're watching another player, so the story and its commentary will be lost because you become the observer again (observing the LPer) instead of the player you should be.
But mostly because LPers will talk over the Narrator's amazing voice.
I kinda like how most LPers LP'd this game anyway despite this trailer making fun of them. They unintentionally made them themselves the punchline here.

Funny that a mock LP video designed to jab at LPs in general was 100 times more amusing than 99% of Let's Players out there now.

Oh man, the game's not even out yet and I think this narration is among the greats of Bastion and Thomas Was Alone.
I love every video this guy puts out. I would pay money just to hear Kevan Brighting talk about stuff.

I was on The Stanley Parable steam page while the videos were playing and I was surprised when I heard Chilled Chaos out of nowhere xD
I got Really Really Nervous and paranoid when the narrator took over the video...also a little guilty and ashamed even though I wasn't laughing at Chilled.

Just the best trailers.
I love that atmospheric and tonal flavour in the background - the one you get can feel in the still spaces between the words and at the end. It's what makes things seem to have an eternal weight. Like in "How to disappear Completely" by Radiohead for instance.
:) Anyway, I know the game itself will be more about the humour and can just be appreciated on that level, but there'll also be the philosophy and that tone will be lurking behind the scenes too, I reckon.
Brilliant trailer, didn't know this mod was getting a full version but I'm extremely fucking excited now. Glad more and more games are getting full versions, more and more good ideas to flourish more. c:

Antichamber is a puzzle game, The Stanley Parable is a narrative-driven game. It isn't entirely conveyed in the trailer, but there's a pretty big difference between the two games.
At the end of the demo when you start rapidly changing rooms, you can walk through the wall. They threw in a bunch of easter eggs like that.
I re-watched the trailer with your English major mindset, and holy shit, it makes so much sense, it's haunting.
If I recall Antichamber was announced far, far in advance of Stanley Parable, and there was even a beta out for it, it just took a while to complete the full version.

I didn't know Chilled was in a trailer for the Stanley Parable.
His voice just makes it so much better.
I love the parts in Amnesia where you jump off an edge into a hole in the floor and launch out another hole placed on a wall somewhere to escape the mansion.
