I grew up playing the N64 as kid and my older brother had this version of the ps1. Anytime he would go out he would let me play his ps1 played a lot of tekken 3 and TM2. Later my nephew gave me his ps1 slim once he got a ps2 good times I miss those days
actually brings me back to the old days where my console has to be in the upside-down position in order for it to work properly or it won't read the disk, PS1 fat and slim too, glad my PS2 works normally, my friends' needed it to be 90° and upside-down lmao.

if the fps in the loading screen ran smoothly, then you're fucked, if it's not then you're good.
remember when the days when you pretend to go away or not care so the game loads faster?
remember, back then, when you tilt the controller when playing a racing game, knowingly well, it won't do shit but you did it anyway in hopes of your car turn more?
back then, when my disks got scratched up so bad that I'm applied clear lotion on it to hide the scratch marks and it loaded!
I remember when I'm looking for a Mini 4WD game and the seller took the wrong game, it was Cybermatic Formula (the anime is bussin ngl), and I cried for a week. yes, for a week, because I religiously bought a disk every week on sunday morning.
I dont play PS2 that much often anymore, so I donated it to my friend, I almost cried when the next day he said that it was the best gift ever (at the time I didn't know it was his birthday).
Reminds me of how my old PS2 slim needed to have something on top of the disc tray to read anything. You could literally see it would begin reading things if you pressed it down with your hand at the startup screen.
I'm sad nick didn't destroyed the bubble wrap....but we know now we can see nick suffer playing TM2 on the real hardware
I was born in 2000 but was introduced to gaming through the PS1. Loads of memories with Crash Bandicoot, Road Rash, Metal Gear Solid, and Twisted Metal. It's awesome to see one in near-mint condition. What were some of your favorite series/games on the console, outside of the ones we've seen you play on the channel?
The only ones I've played that I haven't made content on yet were crash team racing haha But every other game I played I've actually covered or streamed!
Oh man, the memories... had it as a christmas gift back in 1998, I loved it!
As I understand it, parallel ports were removed starting with this model. I checked the one I have and it's the same model... which sucks for me cuz i just ordered the GameShark yesterday that uses that port😅
It uses the PU-22 motherboards introduced in the previous model, which apparently has improved AV video output and sharper graphics compared to older ones.👍

Funny- I got my ps1 at the end of it's shelf life at the store, back when the Ps2 came out. Still have the chords and everything in a drawer in my office funny enough, lol.
Still have my ps1 dualshock edition in the original box. Sometimes I take it out and hook it up to the trinitron for some TMIII action. Nice vid Nick 👍

This is the same model I had, brings back the memories seeing one again. I sadly traded mine in with my PS2 to get the OG fatboy PS3 when it came out.
