I just had a bunch of these idiots do the exact same thing to me on the Detroit River while I was walleye jigging from shore. These boats have the entire river but want to drift 20 feet from shore where all of us guys who are fishing from shore have lines in the water so ive started to make a habit of keeping about 2 dozen 2 ounce egg sinkers in my tackle box and if they don't take heed to the "warning" shot of me casting my 1 ounce walleye jig 3 feet from there boat I start throwing the 2 ounce sinkers onto their boats. Broke a guys windshield last week and he pulled into shore to "fight" me until he realized I'm a life long Detroiter who doesn't play games and will kick 3 of their asses at once on my own. They tucked tail and got back on their boat after they realized what kind of "individual" I am. Unfortunately there's 300 boats on the river this time of year and half of em don't have respect for the guys who fish from shore so I'll just keep throwing sinkers at em. 😡 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's just arrogance is what that is. Boat or no boat, if you were there first, you have every right to fish that area. Respectfully, they should have went around your lines. I have a boat. I don't like doing that to others trying to enjoy their day from the shoreline. Not sure what their purpose was having to be in that exact spot and ignoring your lines....again.
I was driving my boat from the bridge and some A hole on the bank cast his rig into the cockpit of my boat while I was in a canal. I couldn't stop, so I spooled his reel or he finally cut it free.
I have seen the same thing with skiers and jet skies. They have the whole lake and decide to be were someone is fishing. I have also seen other boaters cut across someone's line. I have also seen a many time it taken to the bank and a fist fight break out over it.
Yeah man that's very considerate of you. Most people boating in my experience don't give a rats ass about fishermen on the shore. I fished all year long last year up and down the Colorado from Laughlin to Parker and the people out there boating were some of the rudest people I have ever met. Don't get me wrong, I met some good people, but the majority of boats I encountered were nasty inconsiderate jerks. A lot of them 3 sheets to the wind.
@@FuckArmageddonThisIsHell There are rude people all over. They seem to think the world revolves around them. They could care less about the treatment of others.
I can't stand boaters who think they own the lake. Seriously, you HAVE A BOAT and can fish anywhere on the lake and so why is it so hard to go somewhere else. Its no different then when you go hunting on public land, you over slept, show up late and someone else beat you to the spot and instead of going elsewhere, they decide to sit by you. These are the same people when they see you get on the fish , if in a boat they drive over to your location or if on the bank, they will move towards you snd literally get within 10 feet of you and have the audacity to cast into your fishing spot with their lines being only a few feet from yours and of course they end up getting tangled on your lines. Ive been fishing and hunting for 40 years and ive easily had well over hundred of these types of negative encounters with other sportsman. Its shameful to say the least.
Agree 100%. I'm a kayak fisherman, and why on Earth would you want to fish the bank all the bank fisherman have overfished. I always go directly across the lake and to any banks that AREN'T accessible from the bank (overgrown, too steep, islands, etc.) and this is where you'll also have the best luck. Floating directly over someone else's lines is just an @$$hole move.
I watched this and I actually got angry with adrenaline. I’ve experienced this several times as well. I think you handled it better than I would have. I usually say things like, “so you have access to this entire 1800 acre lake, and you choose to fish near the only bank fisherman on the lake? How about some fucking common courtesy?” That’s the main reason why I fish overnight. No boats.
You kids are way to cool. Back East guys would wait at the boat ramp and let the boaters get mouthy then. There's a way to handle it that 100 % guaranteed those bastards on the boat will never ever do it again..
Lol. I loved how you tossed your own reels into the dirt because someone snagged your line. I had someone peel off all my line in their prop. I let them. Then they stalled.
I'm a boat fisher, and I'm sorry you had to experience that.we all are not like that i bet people in boats have trouble from these idiots. You handled that so much better than I would have.
@@dallasa860 He shouldn’t have to. We agree. That being said, don’t go whining about how you have to retie your gear when you had a chance to avoid it.
fortunately, most boat fisherman looks out for bank fisherman and do the right thing but unfortunately there are the few a-holes that ruin things for everyone as they think they own the waterways.
This is the exact reason I keep 1 fishing pole with a 3oz to 5oz weight tied on .... I yell 3 times if they still come close they become part of my casting practice
My buddy did that one time when some assholes in a pontoon boat decided to park right in front of us over top of our lines in 4 feet of water. He tied a 2-ounce bank sinker on his spare rod and let it fly right over their canopy. They pulled up and left really quickly after that.😆
Hey Tom, Sorry you had to experience this, as a Boat, Kayak and Bank Fisherman I've seen a lot of stupid stuff. Like most I try to give other anglers their space to fish. Videos like yours are great to put out there so the fishing community can see all sides of these unfortunate encounters. I enjoy meeting other anglers, but not this way. Subscribed! Fish On...
You should set up 2 surf rods with 50lb test and nothing but a bank sinker at both ends of your fishing rods and an empty, large 10/0 hook.... one 10 feet to the left of your left rod and the 2nd surf rod 10 feet to the right of your right rod. The surf rods can get achieve way more casting distance than your fishing rods. This creates a "border" around your 3 rods. Then, when they inevitably cross your 50lb braid, slam that rod like you're trying to snag bunker and destroy their rigs. Do this until they learn that fishing near you is absolutely damaging to them. You handled this with so much more class and patience than I could have.
Cool plan internet tough guy. First time you do that to my boat you might get a free lure, next time I will visit with my shore grapple anchor out and now I own your rods.
It's the boat that's at fault in this case. His line would have been in the water first. You wouldn't know it was 50lb braid either, just that you screwed up and lost bait while trolling. @@mikekelly775
That shit happened on my local public dock. The same boat kept trolling close to the dock ignoring everyone on the dock who had to keep pulling lines in to not get snagged. One old dude had enough and grabbed his chinook rig out of his truck. He tossed a huge treble hook and weight over their bow and pulled several $100 of their rods and reels into the lake to sink. That's the answer to those assholes that call us Bankies.
I understand the desire to do just that but as a muskie fisherman I cannot justify that just because of the danger to the other boater or any innocent that is in his boat.
Interesting. I just experienced a guy fishing with several rods from his boat in the entry/exit lane to the marina. Highly regarded fisher of the polluted res.
I have been a hunter and fisherman my entire life. At age 67 i've had a lot of contact with others while hunting and fishing. I hate to say this but its true. Some of the worst selfish asshole's i've ever met have been fellow hunters and fishermen!
Amen Sir. Sportsmanship has really eroded over the years. I used to live in a county where a river flowed through from many miles away. In our area which had easier access there were literally hundreds of migrants would come through when the salmon were swimming upstream to spawn. They left behind so much trash that we finally got the Fish & Game Wardens to come out. At night they caught & fined many of them for their illegal snagging of the salmon. Most of them also got tagged for Trespassing as parts of the river passed through private lands.
Yep I remember once I was setup in a tree waiting for the early morning buck after seeing several doe i let pass. Sure enough two hunters stationed themselves under the tree scaring away the oncoming Buck. They chased him like idiots while never noticing I was in the tree
My friends father had property up in North East Texas. About 450 acers. He had about a half dozen people that had Deer Leases on his land. We were out one day on four wheelers and found 4 large sized bucks with the heads and backstrap missing ! The rest left for the flies and maggots. We set up trail cams and we caught them the next weekend. It was his oldest lease holder. They were turned over to the Game Wardens. And he canceled all the leases. He said he just couldn't deal with anyone hunting his land any longer. It only takes a couple of A-Holes to screw it up for everyone !
I can't believe you handled this as you did. Commendable Tom. You knew the camera was rolling. I might have turned the camera off. I lack your patience.
I remember catching 3 poles at one time . I waved them off but they ignored me so I waited until the right time and with the right I had they didn’t stand a chance, set the trap and ripped as hard as I could and they lost their rigs . Or just cast huge treble snagging hook over their bow and rip
That’s what I do. I’ve made a custom rig and rod. It’s the nastiest hook weighs 5 ounces I can cast it close to 65 yards once I start slinging it. It’s game over.
Being a bank fisherman for many years ( in the 70’s), I totally understand your frustration. Then, I became a boat owner, also enjoyed trolling along the shorelines, but I always kept a safety distance whenever there were people fishing from shore. Those two guys did that to you twice, you have all the reason to be mad, I admire your mild reactions, in my younger days, I would probably have thrown stones at them.
I know how you feel. I'm a boater and a shore fisherman. When I'm on the boat, I dont go near the shore. But has happened to me in so many situation when fishing on shore. Boaters comes in and cast over my lines and don't even care. Plays victims and argues that I'm wrong and planning to call the DNR. I told them to call.
I hate seeing this total asinine disrespect and lack of common courtesy from those bird brain boaters. You handled it well under the circumstances. Those boaters will eventually run into someone not as kind and will end up as turtle feed at the bottom of the lake.
Your patients is amazing my friend...i cant believe the total disregard they had to your clear, calm and rational plea for them to change direction...you retaining yourself gains my subscription...i pray God may bless you and keep them sukkas away from you for the rest of the season :)
I just got a boat all my life I’ve been a bank fisherman I make it a point to respect all bank fishermen when on my boat because I’ve been there as all fishermen have
i kinda had the opposite thing happen today cuz some bank fisherman had their lines essentially across a entire small lake with the help of 1 of those rc bait boats and where yelling at me for being near their lines but i yelled at them that their lines are to far and cant expect to stop any boat traffic for the for the lake cuz they wanted to spread their lines almost bank to bank across
I have a similar story. I fish in a tidal river from the bank and cast out no more than 15 metres (about 16 yards). The river is at least 200 metres (220 yards) wide. Up river is a rowing club and they tend to get out rowing with their coach following in a powered boat early mornings while fishing. Instead of going out into the middle of the river, they row past about 10 metres from the bank and always snag my line and those of other fishers. After this went on for a few fishing sessions, I changed all my lines to 100lb breaking strain. Heavy to fish but I get joy from seeing them tangled in fishing line that they have no chance of snapping off. Not my fault if it cuts into their arms. They will learn eventually.
Unfortunately some boaters do the same stuff to other boaters and kayakers. I’ve seen it happen first hand. Had jet skis run past me in a narrow creek while I was fishing. Some people are just stupid and ignorant. Glad you kept your cool.
I feel you, man! I encounter idiots like these every year! They got the whole freaking river or lake, yet they parked their boats right where we're casting!
This happened to us but the role is switched. We were fishing a spot in Lake Sonoma and we were on a boat. We were catching fish left and right at this one spot. We were pretty close to the bank. Then these bank anglers walked up and started casting where our lines were. One of them tangled out line. We confronted them and they didn't say a thing. We ended up leaving the spot and as we were leaving, they caught a 5lber. Could've been our fish. Point is, there's an unwritten rule that if someone is already fishing a spot, you give them space and move along. Don't be that guy and step on people's toes just because the spot is hot.
Yeah... I just bank fish but if someone else is near I try to not get my lures too close to their bobber or line. When I was working a wacky rig though I was crossing accidentally but never snagged the guys line or touched idt 😂
Tell that to people, who either don't know any better or just plain don't care. They see you catch a big fish or many, which ever the case may be and move in on you, as if you weren't even there. I accually have gone so far as to set out boundary markers, to keep people from encroaching on my fishing spot. If that fails, I have a camera on my phone and will call the local authorities, while they are crowding me.
As a person who never fishes from a a boat, I rented a boat one time to fish Tampa bay. Just went out randomly and anchored up and threw out some bait. Next thing I know, there are like 4 or 5 other boats all close by. I was like wtf, as we weren't on any good spot or reef, lol. Guess they did see us catch a massive lady fish, but that was it. Like they had all of Tampa bay but had to pull up next to us, like we had some secret spot or something, lmao.
Shore fisherman have VERY limited access to the water ANYWHERE ! I primarily fish from a boat. boats should stay approximately double the distance the Shore fisherman can cast, you got a boat you got the whole lake , most Shore fisherman will NEVER get the opportunity to boat fish ,STAY AWAY from areas that people are Shore fishing
Tes tellement patient la dernière fois qu'il en a eux un qui a passé aussi proche moi et mon cousin on lançais nos plomp de 8 once a coté de sont bateaux quand il a passer a 1 pied il ses tasser 😂
I don’t normally give advice on UA-cam. But in the UK we have a solution for this. When beach fishing if a boat comes across lines there is a remedy. I use 13 foot carbon beach casters, able to cast an 8oz lead weight a long, long way. When you get a 6-8 oz spiked lead come into your boat at a 100mph you get the message. I’d gladly pendulum cast an 8 oz lead across their bow. If it hit one I’d probably laugh. There is a word we use. Wanker. For people like those boaters.
I was fishing on the Mississippi and had this happen. I tried warning them but they just completely ignored me. Then, after they snagged me up, the guy turns around and yells "Not my fault you are too broke to afford a boat!". Some people just don't care.
You sir are a good human being. Most people would've got aggressive with those idiots, but you kept your cool even though it was the second time it happened. That was blatant disrespect and people have literally lost their lives for less. God bless you brother, may the fish always find your bait
Yeah, we've got those idiots out here too. We actually had a guy in a kayak go through all our lines and then still drift all the way to the bank right in front of us last week 😆
Boat fishermen out on Lake Michigan do this to each other, too. They’ll cross each other’s spreads and get tangled, and then it’s a competition to see who can reel in the fastest with the strongest line. The winner gets a new rig. I think there’s some guys who do this on purpose just to “prove their manhood”. Probably just compensating for some other deficiencies in their lives.
This happened to me but I was new at fishing and had 50lb braid in a lil freshwater lake 🤣 my drag was super loose and the drag started SCREECHING the boat motor stopped running and watched them drift away, my buddy told me the braid probably stopped their prop
He did the right thing by warning them but they chose to ignore him. You would expect anyone with even half a brain cell to be more aware AND have some respect for others. By pandering to them they will continue to be utter a-holes.
Why? Obviously he was there first. It’s proper etiquette to avoid anybody who is still fishing, whether in a boat, drifting, anchored or off shore. They were 100% in the wrong.
@@EdwardAuchinvole The problem with relying on proper etiquette is that you are not accounting for uncooth fools. Yes. They were 100% in the wrong. No one is disiputing that. But the point is that the guy in the video could have saved his stuff had he reacted quickly. He shouldn't have needed to, but it would've been in his best interest to do so. Ideally no one should be eaten by a tiger. Tigers should be in the zoo, behind steel bars or a tall fence. But if you see one walking down the street towards you good luck relying on that to save you and your family. Better get inside and lock the door, just to be safe, eh?
I mean, isn’t that basically where people usually go to fish for bass etc ? On the lake I fish at everyone in boats is along the edge in little inlets. Not saying it’s cool to mess other peoples stuff up like this video-
Don't know about other places, If you notify the game warden here with that video and their boat registration number, the game department will mail the boat owner a citation
From the rulebook of the TPWD hunting and fishing guide- (C) No person may intentionally interfere with another person lawfully engaged in the process of hunting or catching wildlife (D) No person may intentionally harass, drive, or disturb any wildlife for the purpose of disrupting a person lawfully engaged in the process of hunting or catching wildlife No, you can't legally run your boat or PWC past a stationary fishermen or you'll be fined.
@@maxpinson5002 Well they were still not violating any rule or regulation. They were not intentionally harassing. They were trolling a line down the shore which you could see they were doing from a long way off. No regulation or rule that doesn't let you troll past someone fishing from shore! I am sure they thought they were at a safe distance from the shore. The guy must have one hell of a cast because those boats were not all that close to shore. But hey we all have a right to think and believe what we want.
Argument could (and maybe should) be made that this guy was interfering with their trolling pattern and HE should get a ticket. I mean he has proof that this is a trolling location and clearly decided to set up his stationary lines blocking not 1 but 2 boats from a complete trolling pass. Dude should have reeled up for the few minutes to let the boats pass instead of the boat trying to gauge the proper distance to move away from shore (and off the break line where the fish are) so they don't clip this asshats lines.
@barefootbob1269 - he literally just proved to you they did violate a regulation. He was their first. He informed them, they chose to ignore him. Why do you feel the boater has the right of way?
As a boater I avoid bank fishermen. I have got tangled with a couple of people because I was unaware where their lines were but I apologize and felt stupid for doing it. I bass fish and don't troll but occasionally people will leave lines out unattended. If you don't see anyone on their dock you assume no one is fishing but if someone is fishing I don't fish that dock. You have to show respect to earn it. For me fishing is peace of mind and don't want to be angry while doing so. Some people don't have common sense. We need to respect each other. There's some docks where the dock owners don't like it when you fish close so to avoid confrontation I just don't fish them.
Unattended lines are another big problem. I run into that everywhere I fish and people leave lines out on purpose constantly which trollers snag the rigs or drag the rods into the lake. Usually, they were leaving out big baits like panfish or suckers to catch Musky leaving the fish on the hook for hours as they nap or watch a movie, or worse they catch a loon and it struggles until it dies. Now I generally cut the lines and free the bait/fish or rescue the loon. (keep a towel in the boat to throw over them and they settle down)
Something similar happened to me two weeks ago. Lost 2 lines because an idiot on a jet-ski tangled one of em' and the other one got tangled to a motor boat. And they didn't care. Had to cut both of them off because I didn't want my rod to break or get pulled deeper into the ocean. Hate people who don't respect surf fishers.
there is no reason to be trolling in anything less than 15 foot of water. Early spring trolling with my dad we always targeted 20 to 25 ft. and that was Minnesota in May.
Well, not really , in some cases some of the best flounder fishing around is in two feet or less of water. But that no excuse for those morons fishing through the bank guy . If I see a bank guy , I give him/ her wide berth. I’ve run through lines myself, and was embarrassed no end … I didn’t see the guy or his rod… all I could do was to offer to pay for his rig
I don't know what the laws are where you are, but down here in OK that is considered "Harassing a Sportsman" and is a crime. Get those boat numbers with your phone camera and turn them in.
Very good point buddy , and being on camera if it’s recorded they are stuffed to defend themselves in denial , oh it wasn’t us we didn’t do it must have been someone else , rubbish , recorded camera doesn’t lie.
@@bobboby2400 I've seen it happen. Michigan has a similar code on the books. I was anchored and DNR was approaching me. Another boat was trolling and I warned them they were going to snag my lines if they continued on their current course. They ignored me, snagged my lines and caught a citation.
I feel your pain brother. I fish from shore a lot too... I get lines messed up by jetskiers and pleasure boaters, but when it's another angler, I feel like it's even worse, they should know much better. Thanks for speaking out and tight lines!
They are probably just following their trolling GPS path. Like last year... 🤦 How do you stay this cool? Not everyone may be aware of lines that far out - but I wouldn't accept this excuse the second year in a row from the same guys. Have a great season! 🎣
I also get the blood pressure stuff with confrontations, and like you I have learned that the easiest route is usually to walk away. But SOMETIMES..... LOL much love dude, enjoyed the video :)
A good number of years ago A buddy and me were bank fishing on a section of back bay down the shore. There was a boat with four guys in it, all older, who kept snagging our lines. When we complained, they said we were fishing 'Their water'. I'm not sure they realized how accurate I was at casting big sinkers with big hooks tied on for effect. Nor did they notice that one of us, my buddy suddenly was gone. (He was an amazing swimmer, and free diver). The first sign they noticed that something was really wrong was when he reappeared on the shore holding a drain plug hollering "Hey guys, you know what this is for?". It didn't sink in right away. Then they realized that all their lines were cut and tied together under their boat. As one guy reeled in one line, it pulled the line on the opposite side down. They sat there fighting each other for a bit before they realized they were taking on water. By the time they realized what a guy holding a drain plug on the shoreline laughing meant, all they could do was beach the boat so it didn't sink. Too bad they chose to beach it on the muddy marsh side of the channel, we could have had another conversation on life's lessons. That same buddy who swam out and took their drain plug was good for tricks like that. We always wondered why he ever came fishing in a boat because so many times he'd just roll off the back of the boat and disappear for hours. One of the first incidents we had with him was back in the 80's when he first got out of the service. We were out catfishing, that time in a boat, when a guy on a jetski kept circling the boat and running off, we moved twice and he followed us. Then we heard a splash and my buddy slipped into the water off the back. As the jetski came by again, all we saw was an arm come up out the water and the guy face planting in the drink. As the jetskit circled and came to a stop, my buddy climbed on it and took off. We didn't see him again till the next day. The guy on the jetski got picked up by a buddy and they went looking for the lost ski. We never did get the story on what happened to the jetski, but I suppose he ran it till it ran out of gas or it left at some water-side bar or marina, or gifted to the first person who would take it. He would never say and since he's no longer with us, we will never know.
Lol nice BS story, I'm sure he held his breath the entire time he was under their boat right, and also stopped a speeding jet ski with one hand risking severe injury or death, amazing!
You're a gifted storyteller! Maybe start a storytelling channel. I'd subscribe, and I bet many others would, too. Maybe a series with the drain plug guy as the protagonist(?)
that happened to me when i was a kid with a surf rod. I had the line looped around my finger by the reel. It was a cabin cruiser, and the heavy-duty line did not break and was coming off the real was burning my finger. my father cut the line. the good news was the line fowled his motor lol. he could not go anywhere and the outboard motor cut off with a sputter
I feel your pain. People like that really piss me off. I'll be standing on the dock with my line out, and they'll come right beside me and cast out about two feet from my line. Or they'll cast over my line. They have no sense of respect for your space. There's a lot of idiots out there that maybe should take up under water basket weaving instead of fishing. Take care and keep that line tight.
The patience you have is astounding. I would lose my mind and wasted my energy on these idiots. Avoid them at all cost and I bet they did it on purpose.
Several years ago I was sailing into a marina on the Columbia and a guy was fishing across the entrance. It was dusk and I didn't see him or his line. He was sitting in his car on the jetty. My keel had already caught his line and drug his rig in. I was under sail as I normally sailed into my slip. He came over to the marina and wanted me to buy him a rig. I said no way. "You expect me to see your fishing line when you didn't see a 25 ft boat with a 30 ft mast? This river is hundreds of miles long but you chose to fish at the entrance to the marina." he agreed and left.
I've seen whole families fishing (and swimming) at the dock. I fish in Iowa and Minnesota. This happens mostly in Iowa. They look really put out when I tell them I'm backing my boat in right now so you'll want to get the kids out of the water and your lines out too.
I've had skiers and PWC riders come at me from hundreds of yards away while I was the only person on that part of the water. Both in my boat and on the bank. Pinheads are everywhere
Had this happen once on a large lake. Guy kept zipping up and around me on his jetski. Guess he thought it was funny to scare off all the fish, DNR did not think it was so funny.
You are very respectful and patient. Its unfortunate that us respectful fisherman dont get a chance to speak. Thats likely because we always are avoiding stepping on each others toes.
I grew up bank fishing and I know what it's like with some boaters. These days, in my boat, when I see bank fishermen I make sure to give them lots of space and make sure to slow down to no wake speed. Courtesy for others goes a long way. Make fishing fun for everyone.
Yeah the wake speed is important. My brother and I were kayak fishing and went down this one narrow finger of the lake to a dock to take a break. Left the the yaks on the shore. The lake was probably 20 yards wide and nature was very, very quiet. The recent storms also had ripped out trees and tons of debris in the water just under the surface. So, for every reason in the world no boater should have been going full bore down that sliver of lake. M f'er comes flying down the narrows and back again, completely swamping our boats. Came running down to the shore to find all of our gear floating. Part of me feels like maybe he did it on purpose but either way - idiot and asshole.
Tom, as a bank angler myself, I used to deal with this, now I get a pic of their boat number and report them. Doesn't do much but keeps my sanity in check so I don't go to jail!
I had the same with paddle boarders here in the UK whilst shore fishing the local coast. They see you and yet continue to get right infront of you even when you have just cast out. The number of paddle boarders are increasing too and they get everywhere!
I've had people walking and running through my rods. They stepped on the handles, got tangled up in the line. And they were mad at me. Kayakers, boats oh yeah I've got em. I was reeling a boat in with my 12 foot rod. So I say if it happens again don't let anger get the best of you. You reel that boat in. If you land it you can keep it! HAHAHA
In my neck of the woods, boaters like that end up with all sorts of weird little damage to their boat. Plugs removed and missing or glued in. Mounting bolts loosened. Prop falls off. Flat trailer tires. You know all the normal wear and tear just seems to accelerate. It's strange.
Anyone who has spent a good amount of time near water knows that the water surface is like a sound amplifier. There are no obstructions for the sound waves and they reflect off the water. They heard me loud and clear.
Well, i was trolling last summer and had 6 rods loaded with thick braded lines. An idiot in a big boat passed behind my boat i a quite high speed. Tried to flag them down. He caught all six lines! It was kind of satisfying when it all got tangeled around his prop and shaft! I did not help him out... It wasn't the first time it happened. I may add that it was a really big lake with no other boats around.
It’s been my experience time and time again, if you see a new Lund boat there’s usually an asshole behind the wheel! They do the same thing to other boaters as well!
So, a certain brand of boat signifies what kind of person the owner is eh? Sounds like you believe that because a Ford cut you off last week, Ford owners are usually assholes huh? I can guarantee that whichever brand boat or vehicle you own/drive has at least one asshole behind the wheel. Either that, or you are just a liar. Which is it?
You're a better and greater man than them given they are older folks who should understand the situation encountering other people space. I also believe what you plan to do will bring more peace to yourself. Let the lesser self kids acknowledge the issue; what comes around goes around.
People like those idiots are the reason I keep spark plugs in my tackle box. I have stuck many a well aimed spark plug in the side of a boat and dared them to come say something. I may be a woman but I don't play around. You showed better restraint than I would have.
@@andrewczski1969 It's easy. Most of my fishing poles have 90 lb braid and are 7 to 9 foot heavy action. If someone starts doing like those idiots I reel in my poles and keep what I drag out of their boat then I close the gap on a spark plug and cut the rig off one of my poles and tie on the spark plug at the threaded end. This leaves the pointed end able to hit their boat. When it's all ready I take aim and let it fly right into the side of their boat (I cast it like a sinker). Most times I can jerk it back out and throw multiple times. The spark plugs I use are the large ones.
Had this happen to me a few days ago. Float fishing for crappie from the bank, and 2 geniuses pulled up and dropped a boat anchor right next to my bobber. As I reeled my bobber in I yelled, “One boat and one bank fisherman on a 60 acre lake and you had to fish there? Can’t fix stupid!” And I moved down the bank.
We had this with kite surfers. We had been fishing since daybreak about three hours later about 10-15 of them turned up and there were at least twenty in our group spread out along three hundred yard stretch of shore line. They started surfing across the area that were were casting into as if they had a right to do what ever they wanted. Well after some of our guys had their lines snagged we all came up with the same solution. In Unisom we all reeled in and attached 5 ounce weights and started practicing our power casting. Lead weights travelling at over 150 miles an hour seemed to get their attention . On this occasion direct action seemed to get the job done and they moved along the coast some.
Don't let idiots get you down. ua-cam.com/video/LXuQIgo6fgw/v-deo.html
You can send me any baits you snag😁
@@j-gleu1729 exactly, pricks like this give respectable fishermen with real shoreline etiquette a bad name.
@@gummo3873 you can always add a huge treble hooks to that egg sinker 😁
As a boater myself, I don’t get within a 200yds of bank fisherman. It’s just plain ole rude to encroach on a man’s spot.
when you have the whole lake to troll around in for fish and decide to troll the bank fishermen instead.
You were MUCH more polite than I would have been!
Stupidity is everywhere. Even a guy chilling along the shore with a rod off the bank can't get away from it.
Guy was there first, clearly warned them.
He had the right of way, the boaters have access to the entire lake, those n00bs in the boat are stupid af
There are more stupid people now than there was 20 years ago
No boats.
Thousands of acres of water, and they can't let me have just one.
@@OutsidewithTom so why don't you just turn it into DNR? Harassing Bank fishermen you know it because they've done it to you twice.

My buddy did that one time when some assholes in a pontoon boat decided to park right in front of us over top of our lines in 4 feet of water. He tied a 2-ounce bank sinker on his spare rod and let it fly right over their canopy. They pulled up and left really quickly after that.😆

LOL like the way you think. Wonder how many time that has happened
Yes, now you're talking
I've done this 🤣
I respect how you kept your cool! For me, I did notice some really nice sized rocks along the shore that I know I could have heaved into their boat!😎
Assault with a deadly weapon
Cool plan internet tough guy.
First time you do that to my boat you might get a free lure, next time I will visit with my shore grapple anchor out and now I own your rods.
It's the boat that's at fault in this case. His line would have been in the water first. You wouldn't know it was 50lb braid either, just that you screwed up and lost bait while trolling. @@mikekelly775
I love this line of thinking 😂
@@mikekelly775You sound insufferable.
That's an expensive fuck around and find out for them 😂
Would have loved to have seen that! Priceless!
I've fished off multiple docks and had that happen. These losers in boats don't care.
It only takes a couple of A-Holes to screw it up for everyone !
...and berry pickers!
At this point I'd just give up
I can't believe you handled this as you did. Commendable Tom. You knew the camera was rolling. I might have turned the camera off. I lack your patience.
YUP
he should have zoomed directly in on their face when they came up to shore while calling a game warden on them for fisherman harassment.
It’s game over.
rocks on the bank work well too
Being a bank fisherman for many years ( in the 70’s), I totally understand your frustration. Then, I became a boat owner, also enjoyed trolling along the shorelines, but I always kept a safety distance whenever there were people fishing from shore. Those two guys did that to you twice, you have all the reason to be mad, I admire your mild reactions, in my younger days, I would probably have thrown stones at them.

i kinda had the opposite thing happen today cuz some bank fisherman had their lines essentially across a entire small lake with the help of 1 of those rc bait boats and where yelling at me for being near their lines but i yelled at them that their lines are to far and cant expect to stop any boat traffic for the for the lake cuz they wanted to spread their lines almost bank to bank across
Dude, I think you handled that well. Sometimes assholes are assholes...
Jet boats going full speed in a river 50yds wide while guys in kayaks try to fish.
I feel you, man! I encounter idiots like these every year! They got the whole freaking river or lake, yet they parked their boats right where we're casting!
You came out ahead. And you got your best UA-cam video yet! Life is grand.
O

LOL. I know the definition of that word. Most in the USA don't.
I was fishing on the Mississippi and had this happen. I tried warning them but they just completely ignored me. Then, after they snagged me up, the guy turns around and yells "Not my fault you are too broke to afford a boat!". Some people just don't care.
It called a$$holes.
That's just so fking stupid for him to say that, not every angler wants to own a boat. At least not me
What you should have said, actually, I do own one. It's at the lakehouse 😅😅dick.
Man some people with some pretty nice boats still fish from the bank sometimes
Rude AND inconsiderate!!!
Sorry you had to encounter the same blockheads again. They are all out there I'm afraid. Keep on fishing friend.
Braid is your friend.
The other boaters heard him the first time.

You handled that a LOT better than I would have. I was thinking of 'boat ventilation' while watching.
This is why I always drop some WWII ocean mines along the coastline when Im fishing from the bank.
Good for you speaking out to them, not that they acknowledge the problem. Some folks have no respect.
Thank you!!!! I trout fish at a lake and kayakers and trolling boats constantly are too close and go right over my lines….

He would never say and since he's no longer with us, we will never know.
ill take things that never happen for 500 alex.
Lol nice BS story, I'm sure he held his breath the entire time he was under their boat right, and also stopped a speeding jet ski with one hand risking severe injury or death, amazing!
Bullshit😂
Makes the tooth fairy look like babyshit !!!
You're a gifted storyteller! Maybe start a storytelling channel. I'd subscribe, and I bet many others would, too.
Maybe a series with the drain plug guy as the protagonist(?)
It’s amazing you stayed that calm.
That's a boat dock trip buddy. I'd wait all day for them to show up after fishing
that happened to me when i was a kid with a surf rod.
U were so far from unleashed, you honestly were so chill about it. I know many who would start throwing oz lead weights at them. 😂
I've had skiers and PWC riders
come at me from hundreds of
yards away while I was the
only person on that part of the
water. Both in my boat and on
the bank.
Pinheads are everywhere
Had this happen once on a large lake. Guy kept zipping up and around me on his jetski. Guess he thought it was funny to scare off all the fish, DNR did not think it was so funny.
Handled it better than I would've. Good on you, bud.😊
You are very respectful and patient. Its unfortunate that us respectful fisherman dont get a chance to speak. Thats likely because we always are avoiding stepping on each others toes.
Wow. That is just unbelievable. When I am in my kayak I always make sure to give bank anglers tons of room. Sorry you had to deal with those morons.
I thought this was just a Florida thing. I've resorted to using bigger gear/braid and praying for confrontation.
HAHAHA
🤣🤣🤣was that ur poles , my bad 🤣
You handled it much better than I would have.
Where I live, people have been known to take shots at boats for that lol.
I've seen people throw rocks near boats to get them to move.
@@madtownanglerNot near the boat. AT the boat!
In my neck of the woods, boaters like that end up with all sorts of weird little damage to their boat. Plugs removed and missing or glued in. Mounting bolts loosened. Prop falls off. Flat trailer tires. You know all the normal wear and tear just seems to accelerate. It's strange.
Use your outside voice.
Exactly… dude is acting like he’s in the library
Anyone who has spent a good amount of time near water knows that the water surface is like a sound amplifier. There are no obstructions for the sound waves and they reflect off the water. They heard me loud and clear.
Well, i was trolling last summer and had 6 rods loaded with thick braded lines. An idiot in a big boat passed behind my boat i a quite high speed. Tried to flag them down. He caught all six lines! It was kind of satisfying when it all got tangeled around his prop and shaft! I did not help him out... It wasn't the first time it happened. I may add that it was a really big lake with no other boats around.
All that water and they sail down the bank edge.. wtf
idiots.
i cant believe how calm and polite you are...
Damn, I thought they were young people but these are grown adults. Boats should always give courtesy to bankers. Unspoken rules.
Adults, maybe. Grown? No.
Waterskiers and jetskiers have been the bane of my existence. They can have the rest of the lake, but I find a nice quiet spot and they'll find me!!!
It’s been my experience time and time again, if you see a new Lund boat there’s usually an asshole behind the wheel! They do the same thing to other boaters as well!
Hey ya bigot just bought my third Lund so knock it off , we all are not idiots.
😳🤣I like your spark, but I can't picture what exactly you're saying.
@@LeAnn57 🤣😂TY for your answer. I metal detect as well as fish, and some who have detected with me have seen me "spark plus" Karens.
I love it dude, UNLEASH!
Being a boat guy, I am ssorry this happened to you. Stupid is as stupid does
I know all boat guys aren't like this, I was just angry in the moment. Thanks for watching.
@@OutsidewithTom No excuse for their behavour
Had this happen to me a few days ago. Float fishing for crappie from the bank, and 2 geniuses pulled up and dropped a boat anchor right next to my bobber. As I reeled my bobber in I yelled, “One boat and one bank fisherman on a 60 acre lake and you had to fish there? Can’t fix stupid!” And I moved down the bank.
I hate boaters
