She's not. She's an alien going by the information on the cards and the hinted plot points from what was released. The woman acting her in that trailer should speak normal English with an American accent, it would've been a much better trailer if they just allowed her to speak normally. If Yaira comes from Europe, whether East or North, then bring in a European actress that naturally speaks with that more subtle accent but still in a way that is believable and understandable.

Would you remix this with the music level lower. I can hardly hear you speaking. Now the trailer is incredible! I did not even think you would try this so soon into the story. Your universe is so new, we have so many questions. You introduce new characters every book. The work you are doing is at the level of the "old" masters during the very beginning of the comic era. You have made me a fan again.
The audio mixing, at least at the beginning (which is when I'm commenting) is a bit off; the narration music is making it hard to hear Eric July talking.
Eric , I’m glad the Rippaverse is not afraid to try new things and learn by doing! It’s so obvious that is the approach, to try new things you have never done before. That is not easy and let’s face it, everyone is a critic. Some will love and some will hate and in the meantime you will just get better and stronger. Thanks for actually DOING something. It’s a good example for those with a dream. Looking forward to getting my copy of Yaira.
The accent for Yaira in the trailer was executed very poorly. If they were going to go that way they needed a dialogue coach and an actress with more voice experience. Enthused to see Eric & Rippaverse trying new territory, and for a comic promo trailer, overall, cool results. Maybe the character is supposed to have that accent - but it's a glaring drag on the trailer experience; directors and producers should have realized the idea wasn't working.
So what is Yaira (Dr. Sally Rodell, Ph. D.) supposed to be exactly? In her civilian identity, she is a scientist, specifically an archaeologist and a biologist. So those fields of research must be connected to her origin. She sounds Icelandic, so I would presume that she comes from Iceland. Her two intellectual areas aren't usually connected. Archaeology often gets complimented with anthropology, and biology usually goes hand in hand with chemistry. So if anthropology is the study of human history and prehistory through the excavation of sites and the analysis of artifacts and other physical remains, and if biology is the study of living organisms, divided into many specialized fields that cover their morphology, physiology, anatomy, behavior, origin, and distribution, the plants and animals of a particular area, and the physiology, behavior, and other qualities of a particular organism or class of organisms, then that would allude to or heavily imply...that Yaira is, in actuality, either a product of an ancient civilization's eugenics experiment, or the end result of a millennia long selective breeding program? 🤔 Hmmm... I wonder... A half-human Viking warrior, half-ancient Norse goddess super-human mutant hybrid? A part-human, part-Asgardian supernatural crossbreed? Who knows? 🤷♂️ The theory is sound though. Especially when you consider her appearance, attitude, behavior and lifestyle. It makes a lot of sense and if it's actually true, then it does explain a lot.
Do only I find it funny that Folrspark, TX, was filmed in Vancouver, BC? xD Canada is pretty cold, while Texas is more on the hot spectrum, I found the dichotomy funny. :P Otherwise it's *GREAT* to see Rippaverse *be GREAT!* But it can *_B. Happy for Eric. Well deserved success!
Love this. I’m so excited
Victory is assured.
Shoutout to Andre Anthony who clearly didn't have anything good to say and still managed to get through this interview without saying anything bad. Dude's the best actor on this crew. Respect.
tbh I enjoy this than the actual live action trailer. regardless been a fan since day one, I do hope you guys improve the writing and story telling with your live action trailer.
Wish you all the best and let's go get it
💪🏿💪🏿
Bro... wtf, like seriously?...smh.
I've seen college films with no budget that look better than this.... And, really, you copy the Marvel intro thing? Why bro??
This trailer not good that's true but if you wanna start talking about him copying marvel then you know marvel copy lots of characters from DC and DC from marvels @@UFC_Buffalo
@@grimm5702 that's irrelevant.... If you're trying to beat a company then why poorly copy them? This just seems half-assed.
The acting, the writing, the editing, the audio, it's all objectively bad... this is supposed to be a DC/Marvel alternative? I want Rippa to succeed, but I'm gonna be honest, not just a "yes" man.
@@UFC_Buffalo It's called inspiration.
@@ohla300 Inspiration my fucking ass! The trailer is dogshit for ever one to see. How the fuck can you watch the trailer and the behind the scenes video, and stand as an indepdent person and say that this shit is the sign that the Rippaverse is going places?
Didn't expect Yaira to be Slavic
@@rpgadventurer32 I disagree with the premise that only an eastern european can play such a role but that being said, and me being slavic, the accent is laughably bad. I didn't get the cards and I'm still waiting for Alphacore 1 so I had no idea she's an alien. That makes her professions (archeology and biology) even weirder. I assumed she was researching the origin of her powers.
Rippa cinematic universe.
Any single person over there looked and sounded more excited to be working on that project than any person involved in the last 5 years of MCU and DCU productions.
I’m looking forward to my Yaira copy but the trailer worried me a little. I hope the Soska’s can write better than they direct because the trailer felt disjointed and incoherent. I’m still optimistic about the Rippaverse and all the things to come.
I appreciate behind the scenes extras. Robert Rodriguez really got me into film making for his ability to make something look great even at a low budget. Good stuff! I look forward to seeing more!
This was amazing.
L
What a fun look at yur great crew! Very enjoyable. Thank, you :)
It's productions like the live-action Yaira trailer that show why I want to join Rippaverse studios but I have to ask as I did on the livestream, where can I sign up?
It does look like hard but awesome work
Amateur hour at its finest
As hyped as I am for the rippaverse, please fire the directors of this trailer lmao
these Directors rule
was surprised tro find this video, however I was immensly proud to learn Eric and the sisters were able to film this in Vancouver and Canada. This is the dawn of a new time and so glad to see that Canadians can have such a ground floor presence to these changes. Looking forward to meeting you at future cons ;)
Thanks for the behind the scene . I love the constrat between this crew and what you hear from main street media, one is respectful to the sorces materia and fans and the other one make fun of the matrial and fans. That isom stun falling into the car came out pretty good people don't understand how hard is to make this kind of media completely independent .
Behind the scenes of the trailer. What's next, trailers having their own trailers?
I believe those are called teasers 😆
Would you remix this with the music level lower. I can hardly hear you speaking. Now the trailer is incredible! I did not even think you would try this so soon into the story. Your universe is so new, we have so many questions. You introduce new characters every book. The work you are doing is at the level of the "old" masters during the very beginning of the comic era. You have made me a fan again.
The audio mixing, at least at the beginning (which is when I'm commenting) is a bit off; the narration music is making it hard to hear Eric July talking.
Cool stuff ladies and lads!
I live for this
Embarrassing.
This is big, really big. Love to see this. 💙
did the editor literally just put an 8 minute looped song playing the same 3 notes. wtf is wrong with you people
There's no hope for people like you. Sad, tbh.
Cool that you guys were able to film a trailer. Also congrats on the $1M so far!
You would've thought they did a 3 hour production with how much self stroking they're doing here.
Now Yaira has no accent das wild
Impressive! Congratulations on a job well done.
She’s American in real life? I thought she’s actually Slavic
Amazing work from a young company that wants to focus on fun and entertainment. Kudos.
Hmmm...
Awesome! Great watching the Soskas at work 😻
Do only I find it funny that Folrspark, TX, was filmed in Vancouver, BC? xD
Canada is pretty cold, while Texas is more on the hot spectrum, I found the dichotomy funny. :P
Otherwise it's *GREAT* to see Rippaverse *be GREAT!* But it can *_B. Moe Better!_* If you catch my drift. Also Rippaverse needs *_Moe Bitchez!_*
It was excellent that you got Mackenzie Gray in this trailer, he was awesome in Legion. I really liked what you did with the trailer and Morgan Boot looked great as Yaira. God bless you, Soska Sisters and everyone else on the production, with excellence!
Awesome ! I really loved it, keep going Eric. Good casting choices. That Morgan Boot actress is a beautiful amazon ❤
I'm confused, I thought you were fighting against wokeism. All I heard was strong woman this and strong woman that. Isn't this what you usually mock on your channel?
I have to say, I had a moment where I thought that. Mostly due to EVERYTHING being ruined by woke Hollywood today. Then I snapped out of that. The Soska sisters are very talented, intelligent and huge fans of this world. They were not hired simply for being women, who could not care less about the subject they have been attached to. So, this is not woke.
RIPpaverse
It will be here 5 years later and you STILL will keep saying that.
Loving this. Also loving the detractors meltdown.
They're saltier than usual. Coping and seething. I love it.
I really can't understand why they spend so much time whining and complaining. If I don't like something - I just don't buy it or pay attention to it. These detractors seem like it's taking up not only their head space but their lives as well.
It's really unhealthy behavior.
@@videovagrancy8526 They have no other way to get attention.
@@videovagrancy8526Sorry, but even as someone who likes Eric for the most part - that is very hypocritical. We've been talking about Disney for years.
And pointing out objective problems isn't being a 'detractor'. I really dislike this cultish attitude I'm seeing develop around this company from many of you.
@@tomstockman412they all have been making money off of marvel and disney commentary but suddenly critism is not welcomed cause its their products being criticized…indeed hypocritical
This is incredible! Thank you Eric
Great idea to do live action scenes to promote the books.
Can't wait, next we need a Vhaildan live action film!!
The Soska sisters are dope! This book will be awesome!
For the algorithm
I found nerdrotic in nov 2022
6:30 Mackenzie Gray, Walter from Legion! 👌🏻
It seems a little soon to have anything from the rippaverse in live action. We don't even know if the yaira character is gonna be liked....?
It's only a trailer.
May as well experiment a bit.
Actually we do know that Yaira is liked. I don't know how active you are on Twitter or the Guilded server or other places but Yaira has been a fan favorite since the day we first saw her. When we finally got the Alphacore and Yaira back to back announcements, Eric knew one of them had to be Yaira or else there'd be a riot. We all knew Yaira would be a hit.
Nice
We were here when it all started, folks =)
Nearly every time you see her in this the actor playing Yaira is dwarfing everyone. How tall is this woman?
Didn't think we were going to get a behind the scenes video so soon but it was great to see Eric so happy.
Your comic is the cringiest thing I’ve ever seen in my 😂😂😂😂 Revenge of the Cis has me here laughing at you
Love how rippa and the team is jumping right in getting that experience. I always like following these journey's.
The actress playing yaira got the shortest stick by far. Shes great needs better directing
