    Sunflowers are my favorite. This turned out really beautiful. I love it. Love the colors and the placement of the floral designs and just everything about it.

    Antique cooling cabinet. The vent in the back is to allow moisture to escape while preventing mice to eat the baked goods.
    The utilitarian style was offset by the expensive wood they used.

    Note to self - pause all videos from Twitch prior to drinking a beverage. At 5:38 I literally sprayed hot tea! Facial expression = a solid 10. I appreciate how genuine Twitch is, always keeping it real. In the beginning this piece was sketchy, crunchy and wet. The end-result is stunning. Twitch literally brought this piece back from it's demise. Kudos to Twitch for another resurrection.

    It’s beautiful. I must admit that I was getting a bit skeptical right about the time you said, “Trust the process.” The transfers and their placement are the perfect treatment for the piece. Nice work, Twitch.

    You're right about the drying press I think or maybe a steaming cupboard to get creases out of delicate fabric. It'd be class to know what it was used for and what house it started it's life in. It was ugly as sin for sure but it's far from it now. Girl, you worked some witchery on that. Well done.

    She turned into a gorgeous swan. If you want to extend the top just a bit, use some trim and paint it to match the bottom. Pretty sure the top is Silky Oak, a lovely Aussie timber. Great work as always. I didn't realise you were a Qldr like Tarnya and Breimagined. Harrisville took me back to my childhood.

    That was a cabinet for stereo's...each sliding drawer would have had glass on it...back in the 70's, 80's etc a descent home stereo had multiple pieces and these cabinets offered people a chance to own different makers equipment that didn't look like the others and one wouldn't need to see all the dials, lights and flickering lights, they could also put a VHS player inside and a TV on top or beside it, some tv's were in the wall above...depending upon the year the home was built...

      Your guess is better than mine. I thinking some kind of hatchery. The vent is the clue.

  • @holly5791
    @holly5791 2 роки тому +2

    This piece reminds me of an American pie safe. The ventilation would usually be in the doors, though. Pies would be baked and cooled inside the pie safe. That way, the baker could keep flies out of their pies as well as tempted fingers? Just a guess? Now, I am referring to an antique piece. They are in demand these days as much as the old dry sinks are.
    I really like your outcome of the piece. It's hard to believe you pulled that off in a day! Great job! 🙂👍

    Tiger Oak, It is achieved most often when the oak is quarter sawn. The log goes down the sled to be cut and then it is turned one quarter and sawn again. Not done today because there is a lot less usable lumber produced. By the way all words that are spoken, even for the first time, are still words. They may be new, but they are still words.

    The wood is very interesting, so I would have had a hard time painting any of it. It is very hard to tell but the top and sides looked almost like burled walnut, which has always been extremely expensive. So why did they use such expensive wood for a utilitarian piece? Great idea to use the topcoat as a pre-primer, so to speak.

      @@baronesselsavonfreytag-lor1134 This has to be part of a larger piece of furniture. As mentioned above, I am sure it is a veneer, but burled wood is rare and beautiful, not my favorite makeover. If at all possible, I would have kept the wood. It could have been very damaged but she didn't say. I would save this heavy handed makeover for an extremely junk piece.
