    I reviewed the Sigma 35mm f2 i-Series, the Sigma 35mm f1.4 and the Sigma 35mm f1.2 for L-Mount (Leica and Panasonic) and here are my thoughts.

    Hi Cris! Great video! Well done! Quick question. I recently purchased the SL2-s and the 35mm F2 ASPH lens. I was wondering if you had any experience comparing the Sigma F2 L mount to the Leica 35 F2 ASPH. I was wondering how they compare in sharpness and in contrast. I purchased the aforesaid system because I loved the sharpness and and the contrast of the Q2.

      Thanks for your message. Yes I am actually planning to do a comparison video between the 35mm and 50mm of Leica and Sigma soon - stay tuned 😉

    35mm 1.2 is for wedding work . This is an outstanding lens to me far better than any 35mm including 35mm Leica leans

      I don’t shoot weddings at f1.2 on a full frame sensor - not even in low light (way too shallow the DOF) but could be helpful in some cases I guess. That said it’s an excellent lens indeed (also for the size, weight and price I would definitely go with the iseries f2 lens!)

    Minor quibble but f1.4-->f1.2 = 1/2 a stop. f2-->f1.2 = 1 1/2 stop. Cheers and thanks for the video!

    Just one remark: the f2 is not weather resistant. It has a ring around the mount, but that’s it. No internal seals. Sigma doesn’t claim any weather sealing for this lens either. Not a big thing, but after close to 2y owning this lens, I noticed dust on the inner elements, while by comparison, my Lumix S 50/f1.8 which is properly weather resistant, does not have. Even though that lens is used more often. Nevertheless, a great allround lens that f2. It made me sell the f1.4.

    It would have been nice to see the actual lens on the camera.

    With my 24-90 I really struggle to see a need for a prime. My next lens will probably be the 90-280. Hope you’re well mate.

      I hear y’a! I love primes for a couple reasons: wider aperture (in the case of f1.2 or f1.4 that’s a good 2-3 stops more than zoom lenses) and it’s low light capabilities and shallower DOF but also for the fact that you get more active making photos and moving around to find your shot rather than turning a zoom to reach that framing you want. Those are my reasons but that said, I also often use my 24-70 f2.8 with my SL2s 😊😉
      Take care and the 80-280 sounds good!

      Love my 35mm f2 on my SL2, the size is great, image quality is perfect. No complaints from me.

      @@cris_photography when I shot with Sony I had a bunch of primes from sigma. I agree with all your thoughts. But nowadays I’m just lazy! 😂
