- Oh boy here we go again like old time FM 2023 VS GT7 which one is better A.I with higher difficult can driver avoid the cars middle road? Let see which is winner here.
Kinda loved doing these comparison bringing more suggestion and i wll make something if the game FM 2023 get worked again.

In real life there must be some type of prior signaling for cars on the track and they must slow down and not overtake, in this sense GT seems more real.

There is a flag system and the ai abides by that flag system. Regardless of what you have as a real person the ai has a different flag which in this case is a yellow and they know a car is in the track not moving.

When the Sophie event was going on I couldn't use my wheel setup and I don't think I've been more angry at ai in a racing game ever.
We should see sophy in GT7 I think they are just really trying to perfect the AI the more time spent doing that the better it will be

After comparing the graphics, sounds, content, presentation, and ai, maybe I judged GT7 a little too harshly. GT7 ai is far from perfect, but WOOOW is the ai in FM8 terrible.

Ok i did not expect the fm ai to be good but damn its rude. Although in gt7 is stupid and I hate it (same situation in gts) atleast it doesn't hit you at mach 1.
The one thing that was on impressive on Forza was the absolute commitment by the AI through the second chicane on the Mulsanne at Le Mans.
GT7 AI is quite cautious, and notices your presence, however, sometimes this thing won't make them trying to race you, but instead let you pass, treating you like a king or something, in gameplay
On the other side, Forza's AI, even this new one, seems to still following the intended line, and sometimes doesn't notice your presence (not literally). However, this seems also resulted with the AI actually gives you a decent battle in race, since they'd not hesitate to defend their position, or take an overtake on you (still like usual Forza racer, but that's fine enough)
This is the most diplomatic way of saying "Forza's AI are really stupid." that I have ever read.
Forza's AI is literally blind, they know the track layout but they can't see other cars and also have no sense of self preservation or care about adherence to any sort of rules. Imagine not just hitting a car right in front of you that you can see a mile off, but then continuing to push it along the road. Turn 10 are clowns. This AI wouldn't have been acceptable 20 years ago.

Forza23 ai just gets super aggressive and rams you at higher difficulties but if you do a race with all the cars, including your own, having the same performance. As in all gt3 cars and all your damage, fuel, and tire consumptions set to real, the ai really do not give you an easy win. Set a standing start on the nurbergring 24hrs, with low light, and a full grid gives you a great race if you want to really test the ai.
Well that’s the same in gt7 so forza isn’t doing anything new there 😂

No, GT7 ai doesn't just ram when the difficulty is set higher. I was saying that the ai in GT7 actually will challenge you if you setup a race in a realistic manner. The ai in GT7 also adheres to track conditions and flags the way they should.

My ai in forza doesn’t do that huh? Because even when they’re crashing into you they keep going, in mine they try to go around without losing speed.
I've tried it on all ai difficulty settings and they do the same thing. Ramp the difficulty up and all that happens is they get more aggressive towards you but don't get any arter.

Its truly sad, i need to say this in 2023. Forza Motorsport using mobile game AI. The AI is blind, can't see you anywhere on track, this is why the lot of crashes, for AI the player is non existent. I've seen this only in mobile games before. The cheapest solution for any game or sim, and its popular in mobile gaming and sims. But in Forza? I never thought that will happen. GT AI is amazing, something Forza devs need to learn.
I think Motorsport is more realistic you think they’re gonna be able to stop at full speed in real life ? No me neither.

as a PC gamer I'm sad to be stuck with FM, so many promises were made leading upto release and non were kept. This is yet another example how incredibly bad the game is. And this "only" test the AI awareness of the player car, FM AI won't even overtake if the car ahead is on the race line. there is NO overtaking in a racing game... At best it's a mediocre driving sim

Short story: GT7 has scripted CPUs. And Forza has untrained AI which are too bad and should've stayed training. Like sophy currently.
The ai in GT7 is the classic "follow the hidden computer line", these "AI"s (they are not AI they just scripted to do certain things in such conditions, i will call them CPU just like the old days) have been perfected for years now. The issue is they are consistent a lot and doesn't feel human like (which is what racing games nowadays don't want for their game, they want human like CPUs). Forza added these learning AIs to their games and ditched the classic CPU drivers and replaced them with these new AI. Issue was they had to learn every teack and cars by playing them multiple times, the second issue is they did train them ALONE which is why they are bad when they are crowded. The third issue is they tried to make them slightly scripted but still this didn't work. And the final issue they rushed the game.
So yeah if a new racing game arrives its better that the other drivers be on the old CPU system and not AI, because the CPU is more flexible and can be modified easily. The AI is a better choice but it will take so much time and power until the AI learned how to react to every situation (which can take years).
Im not saying this as if people don't know what is the difference between them, i said this just so we can be clearer.
Also forza should next time put a label on how much (in percentage) is "built from the ground up".

I’ve been always a Forza fan, but this… Jesus. Forza is a legit joke.
I play GT7, I can’t stand the AI in GT7. They just don’t make sense and when they try to be cautious, it _causes_ collisions, like when I’m behind them they get scared a slam on the brakes. So far Forza has been somewhat crashy sometimes, but they go completely off track to avoid you which is funny 😂 I would say they are easier to predict and therefore easier to race with. It’s also much easier to get the level of challenge you want whereas in GT7, you usually need to drive a slow car to get challenge.
no.. in FM they go out of track it's not to avoid you, it's because they're completely STUPID, believe me, i've been playing it since day one!!

A couple observations, FM car physics are awesome! Their AI don't know how to avoid collisions but they take multiple lines around the track, Gt cars follow single file around the track so no real racing there at all but they do a great job of slowing down and mostly avoiding a collision from a stopped car.(also why do you purposely move the FM car into the racing line and keep the gt car stationary after hit and keep it away from the racing line? Looks a little sus to me)

In many of the GT clips, the ai is slowing down well before a real human would even see you. They also are overly cautious and don’t even seem to be behaving like they are racing. In cases where it’s a blind corner (like when you are on the bottom of the Laguna Seca corkscrew) I think forza is actually more realistic since the cars appear to actually be racing and wouldn’t reasonably know you’re parked around a blind corner

@@Emb4Prezthe thing is on that part on the nürburgring you have to break down to like 30 anyway cause of the tight turn. So breaking down a bit is easier then you think even at a blind spot.
Look at that stupid Gran Turismo AI slowing down and ruining their lap times. Meanwhile the hyper intelligent Forza Ai sacrifices 1 maybe 2 cars to shunt you out of the way while the rest can stay at full speed.

In all honesty yes its a new game, turn 10 has never had excellent ai, but i will give them some time to work in this ai system, i would like to see ai being punished for ramming as well, even get rid of that weird fake shadow underneath the car

They wouldn't but cars break down and get stuck in irl motorsports all the time. In GT7 there is a flag system and the ai is getting a yellow flag meaning to watch for road hazards or stuck car. In FM23 no such system exists and they should have programmed in some sort of collision detection system to avoid this wild occurrence.
