I rarely watched these game shows but now I'm imagining myself laying on a thick gold shag carpet watching Matchgame on a giant floor model tv. I woulda been 11, but I should change my decor now!
I had mentioned in an earlier episode that Kaye Ballard and Betty White were the only survivors of the show that were over 90...didn't know that Orson Bean turns 90 this year!
Dawson was awesome the first several seasons of Match Game. He was Match Game. It was no surprise the daytime version tanked after he was let go. What a grueling schedule the last two years taping two shows. Match Game and Family Feud. Those bags under his eyes by 1978 were not from partying. Lack of sleep and over worked.
Dawson had been lobbying for his own show for some time. In addition to appearing on Match Game, he was the host of the revived syndicated game show Masquerade Party, which ran weekly in 1974-75.
UGH disagree. She tries to be so witty and charming, but everything she says is so dull. She actually quoted the entire children’s poem “sticks and stones…..” when Brett was making fun of her. And her faux southern belle schtick grows tired quickly…..”while I was fanning myself on the veranda….”
Every time we went to Texas in Houston, we always went to Papa steakhouse, or to steak and ale. And we met this man because he wanted to sit privately to talk about the things that we do which we were doing bad. And we met this man very rich. And my ex-husband told him he said I sure love your town. And the man said thank you very much because it is my town! his last name was Houston! So when he leaves, we bless him, she can and say goodbye. He end up paying for all of our meals. There was five of us who should’ve been around $250. And, every time we went there, we always ran into him! And we thanked him every time because he always paid for our dinner. At one time we were leaving the next day he invited us out to his ranch. But we couldn’t go. But he understood and we seen him many times after that. My ex-husband always told him he did not have to pay for a meals And it was no man ever tells me what to do! With a big smile on his face!
Thank you, didn't know if any of his earlier work was still around. Love to see it.. ;0) Found his Kukla, Fran and Ollie appearance the other day.. ;0)
Who isn’t? She is nothing but an insulting b_ _ ch. She thought she was it. She should of taken a good look at herself. Not a pretty sight. She was so jealous of every woman star on show.
Free spirit flying. ;0) ROFL! Another fine after dinner episode! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Gene! :0) ROFL! Love ya Charles! :0) ROFL! Brett tied with Richard with 13 matches for the regulars..
MAM really had NOTHING to work with on DS...jesus I know she had to BE dixie carter but still...she's vibrant here but by that time...I guess just wasn't young anymore?

If a "nympomaniac" isn't willing I don't know who is
10:48 What a line.
that answer matched! Willing and nympho? Match to me - who would be MORE willing?
I was surprised they didn't match that
I had mentioned in an earlier episode that Kaye Ballard and Betty White were the only survivors of the show that were over 90...didn't know that Orson Bean turns 90 this year!
So sad when he tried to cross a busy street late at night😢😢

On this date in 1964, the tv show The Alfred Hitchcock Hour episode Anyone For Murder with Richard Dawson as Robert Johnson aired.
I started with 76...but going back from the beginning Richard wasn't always the one picked for super match... no wonder he got his own show.
Dawson had been lobbying for his own show for some time. In addition to appearing on Match Game, he was the host of the revived syndicated game show Masquerade Party, which ran weekly in 1974-75.
Mary Ann Mobley is absolutely adorable.

@@thomasmagnum3588she's insufferable
This is two straight episodes where the challenger was down 5-0 going into the second round, gets to a 5-5 tie, then wins the tiebreaker!
Justice for the willing nymphomaniac!
MG did a female version of how to get a man/woman to propose. The majority answer was show them the size of you bank account.
Richard said show her "my technique," which was not only clever but made me want to hop into a time machine and lose my innocence all over again.

Genes face when she said “sailor” was funny! 😄
Then my face 😮 when she got matches!!
Gene was the announcer from 1954-57 when it was called "Tonight Starring Steve Allen" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tonight_Starring_Steve_Allen)
And here is the first episode of that show....ua-cam.com/video/CW4GXtJ_VgY/v-deo.html

⭐episode if there ever were one!
3:43 Not a bad joke from Betty White.
Kris got some nice legs
That's one good thing about 70's fashion, girls(and women) were really in to showing off their legs!
How to get a man to propose? Tell him your. RICH!!!
I love that laugh thing Charles does at 13:43!
You wonder what the stars are really thinking
I always wonder what Charles says to Brett when his mic isn't on!
Mary Ann is getting tired of Brett.

se.
Charles Nelson Riley made his fortune being a barely closeted homosexual and it was HILARIOUS!
People weren't obsessed with it. He was just himself.

Dumb question who is Kakie??
I still don't know.
Hmm just realize that Gene has settle down latly.. ;0) Hmm nevermind.. :0)
BRETT always has to copy someone. Very rarely does she come up with her own answer.
BRETT is already pretty drunk! And she think she’s been so funny, when instead she looks like a blank!
