I've had acrylic paint chip off some older paintings where graphite was applied. I've been using gel pens lately. The trick to gel pens is to draw then wipe off with a almost wet cloth. Doing this removes excess gel (a mess when picked up with paint). What is left is a clearly usable drawing that can just be seen through most paint.
Hi, I fortunately have not run into any paint chipping after using a pencil for my base drawing. I usually only do a simple outline with very little area covered by the graphite, so there hasn't been any issues for me. The suggestion you have given is good, thanks for sharing! Absolutely beautiful! I would love to see a Victorian painting of flowers in a basket if you desire. I love the 1800's and how women were always picking flowers for their houses.
I used to have this color hibiscus bush outside my bedroom window. It would bloom big dinner plate sized flowers. I've also seen a hummingbird show up on rare occasions. My husband attempted to transplant part of it to another area of the yard and it died. This is so pretty! It's on my list of many of yours I would eventually like to paint. Thank you!!
