Really do appreciate this. I'm in that middle phase of learning something like Blender where I know what I wanna do and sorta know how to do it, but stuff like topology just stops me immediately. Seeing you work through the stages of blocking out -> subD -> modifying -> subD is super helpful, and really helps with not getting in my head. tyvm!
This tutorial is one of the best about SubD workflow, the multiple edge flow strategies and how to simply create any kind of shape and bring it to where you want to. I am still struggling to master this freedom of creating anything you want/need without having weird pinching or bad shading etc. I love this channel, theoretical concepts applied live in front of my eyes and simply explained, is like amazing. Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to share it with everyone else.
you remind me of Mr. Scott Robetson back in my photoshop rendering tutorial days. your very thorough and easy to listen to and learn from. thank you for all of your lessons. 100% ELITE .
@@pzthree there can be more than one legend and you don't have to claim to be, it'll just be. lol I know flow state when I see it. cheers dude. keep goin.
I really liked your advice at the end when you talked about starting with clean quad topology as a beginner. I started in the opposite way, wirh some sort of ngon hard surfwce technique and as result all my shapes were really blocky and i had 0 control over more sophisticated shapes and objects. The old achool way of learning things sounds much better.
Again, awesome video dude, you're helping so much !! You manage to bring everything together somehow. There are lots of very good tuts online, but it's hard to find some that actually help with grasping the workflow for creating game assets while still using all the fancy techniques for designing cool stuff. But you do exactly that ! Working on my Portfolio atm. and hoping to get an internship or Jr. Job soon. Your videos make me feel confident about my Workflow so that I can show I have the basic knowledge to get in. Keep on going man, you're great
Getting started with this is not easy. This Video helped a lot tho! So thank you! From what i understood so far, I think I just gotta practice more, understand Edgeflow and Topology. Keep up the great work :)
Great tips! Do you think you could make a tut on how to proper tackle the modeling of a Su-27 or Su-35 (jets). They have the most beautiful lines but im having a hard time with it. Cheers
It's interesting that working on the mesh at 21:00, you've let the extruded surfaces evaluate to n-gons. Is that OK since you have the inset/bevel which ensures the corner edges are quads? If so that might help me a lot with resolving topology.
This guy made random slightly rotated, undefined object with better topology than me that was supposed to have an object with a cube as the base shape.
I don't know what it is about topology videos, but they start off great and then somewhere in the middle get lost in the weeds. Very hard for new people to 3D modeling to understand.
Ah, I forgot to add. Do you have any tips or guides on time management? I always feel like I'm way too slow with finishing assets. Most likely cause I can't stop iterating when I should be moving on, but I haven't figured out how to stop myself from doing that.. Is anyone else experiencing that?

So underrated channel, maybe one of the most useful channels out there
Yeah, Pz is killing it here
For sure, I've lost count how many people I've sent to this channel
I think Arijan, ThomasColin 3d and Pzthree are the best blender creators right now, they drop an insane amount of knowledge every video.
@@gabrielegagliardi3956 agreed. I would also add ChamferZone to this list. PZ is still one of my top favorites!
only channel that really explains topology
"Sometimes you have to make triangles. Its unfortunate, but its true"
- A wise man
Loving the creative narration style, I feel like I'm watching the Bob Ross of Blender.. Happy little quads!
My thoughts exactly ❤️

I really want to say thank you, I'm not usually put comments but you're a such talented person surprise me with amazing free information.

I won't ever claim to be that much of an expert. Scott is a legend.

New fav channel

Great stuff!! First steps on modeling here, and you kind of answered a lot basic questions I was running into. Thanks!
Damn. Wish I’ve seen this video years ago.

love these videos please continue to make them!

If you are doing highs to bake. As long as the shading works, otherwise you keep working it out to quads.
thank you for sharing
Exquisite stuff as always Pz
Knife Tool and Inset Tool and (Korean) Bevel Tool are the three keys for Subdeez
Tip ; Boolean Intersect also works great to quickly add support loops around a shape
Thank you for this amazing content!!

Really helpful video
hello! nice tutorial! your interface is really awesome. Is that a theme or plugin we can install ourself?
This is great. How do you get that angle indicator when putting points? That's really cool!
Preferences > key map > knife (k) change settings even if they are grey.
C'est passionnant !!!
What's the son you use for setting the flow of a loop?

Not yet. Sooner or later I'll get to it.
This so interesting, like movie😂😂
