Tears roll down my eyes when I see this video. I am 34 years now. I had traveled in steam engine in 1991 in non ac first class. It remanded me of those days.

I am now 55 years old , when i was a child and afterwards teenaged,,used to travel long journey with parents pulled by steam engine , loved those memories of it's hiss sounds and different whistle , although speed was not able to match with modern electric engine but still love those sweet memories which made me nostalgic .

I like your videos & way of explaining things . I remember my childhood days when my whole family used travel in steam engine locomotives. Those days it used to take about 36 hours by train to reach from mumbai (cst) to lucknow. We used to enjoy a lot in these steam engine trains.
Unclejiis interview part was the best.. He possess an ocean of memories, from his childhood to till date, only his mind and his facial happiness can tell how happy he is to re explore his bygone days...
A very nice video . Iam 57 years old and steam locomotives were a huge part of my early to non too early days. The shriek of a WP in the dead of the night is still something I can recall and still never fails to give me goose bumps , plus the coal particles that used to get into our eyes .. the clanking of the connecting rods , the hissing from the cylinders .... a big THANKS for this video ..

Very nostalgic. My father was in the railways. I have travelled on.nany occasions in my childhood in the trains pulled by steam locomotives. Sipping tea especially during winter mornings along with the pleasant smell of burning coal of the locomotive, in the air used to be a treat.
My Mother native is Sultanpur Kaliyawas..Somany times I travelled in those great childhood days.Early days it was started from Sadar Bazar.! Thank You for making so nice video by sandeep bhai for being reminding me those sweet memories..Salutes You.!

Gyan G. Well done sir. Today I am 50 years old. Still remember those old days when use to travel from Kanpur to Lucknow with dad & mom by gomti express then pulled by steam loco. On this section. Later diesel loco now electric loco.

I had the pleasure of travelling in a WP steam locomotive hauling a passenger train in the early 1960s. It was from Mathura to Agra at night, which was even more magical. I am an old man now, but the memory lingers. As a boy, it was something I have never experienced since. The men and the engine have faded into time, but India should be proud of these machines that once hauled India's future!
This brings back fond memories of travel in trains. Up until the late 90's steam engines were used, Diesel locomotives were earlier installed on premium trains in the early 70's and 80's which slowly made way for diesel locomotives and now those diesel locomotives are making way for electric. This is progress. Steam engines did not have that speed of engines of today and train journey's took many days in some cases travelling long distances.
