It’s probably not installed from the factory for a reason. Could be a safety concern if a child has their hands by it when closing or something being so low to the ground. Maybe it wont allow the car to sleep or something. All in all cool feature.
Do you have a model y? It has a good size frunk that is extremely useful. It is hard for me to close the frunk 🤷♂️. My ICE was is a Honda S2000 and Acura NSX, tiny tiny space and not even the trunk is auto close. 😅. I am spoiled, indeed!

I love using the Frunk. I use it all the time when we are bringing anything back that might "spill" or "smells", such as left over food and certain grocery items. For me, it is totally worth the cost to modify my frunk. But it doesn't seem like it make sense for you :)

@@MrSlotracer maybe I haven't tried any good HUD, I've seen the ones in the VinFast VF8 and it was hard to read for me. HUD = the display that is projected on to the windshield, right?
I drive a Mazda CX5 and the HUD on that is perfect. Easy to read and easy to ignore. It includes GPS info and traffic sign recognition and smart cruise control data.
It's all good , thank you for not getting defensive. I wasn't trying to be rude. You explained so it makes sense. I know lots of people prefer shorter videos , I do too. But the video that showed the whole process was interesting. In the future maybe keep to around 20 min maybe 30 - 35 min max. Yeah the process was interesting so I didn't mind watching the whole video. 20 min seems about right in my opinion. Good content. I appreciate your energy. Aaron
I think *maybe* because people tried to install it themselves and run into issues? 🤷♂️ I am BEYOND happy with mine, which was obviously professionally installed. Nothing a single thing to complain about.
Dont install this piece of crap. There are tons and tons oh yeah, tons of complaints about these kits breaking. You're then left with a locked frunk and have to break into the car later.
Yeah I was looking into this also but after seeing the reviews from these kits decided against it. You have to do some modifying for the soft close doors to your wiring I think.
Geez, really? I guess all Porsche owners must be furious after decades of mechanical “frunks”. The Model Y is not a luxury vehicle. If you want the doors to close like a Luxury vehicle, go buy one. Go get yourself a Lexus or something. The guy is such a baby.
Wah waaaah. 😅 It is really more of a “I wanna mod it this way… to fit my needs”. But I think the way i said it in the video, it does sound like I am a baby. 😅👍
This sounds lame. Too lazy to physically open and close a “frunk”? Don’t get a blister on your thumb pressing the button on remote. Grow some muscles. I guess you need a push button to wash your car?
So you are upset that you have to manually shut a drunk. Overpriced vehicle for things that it should have standard in it. They still have a lot to learn in the world of manufacturing vehicles. I think I would still take the Audi or Mercedes over the Tesla. Overall great video keep up the great work!
I totally agree, Tesla is overpriced for standard feature, at least the prices are dropping now, (finally!!). Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! 👊👍

Excellent video. Tes takes pride in his work, something I pay close attention to. It’s too bad he’s not on the east coast.
TES studio is awesome. I am 330 miles away from TES studio, but still much closer than for you. I hope you find a local shop with the same quality. 👍
I don’t even use my frunk. But it’s definitely not that hard to close. Just thought I’d add that 2 cents 😅
Do you have to use two hands, or can you close it with just one hand?
It’s probably not installed from the factory for a reason. Could be a safety concern if a child has their hands by it when closing or something being so low to the ground. Maybe it wont allow the car to sleep or something. All in all cool feature.
Could be many reasons. I do person like the mod and have no regrets (so far).
You skipped the part where he puts the spring back in to the factory part
The external pull-cord to open the frunk is not a smart idea and not an upgrade. It makes it super easy for thieves to open your frunk.
Shhhh 🤫🤐
There is something wrong with your Y's hood, mine is a simple, gentle press, either side of the T zero issue to close.
Wow, maybe you are right! I never compared it with any other model Y!
I hardly use frunk so if the car is cheaper without it I am for it and leave it as after market install.
fair enough! Keep the Model Y prices down! 👍
Wait a minute .. is that a NSX sitting in the garage too 👀
Hehehe, yep! 1998 Acura NSX with dealer installed Comptech supercharger pushing 420hp, the car has 38k miles on it, I barely drive it. 😅

@@MonteWeaverofficialwow!!! Nice M6! Enjoy it more. My mechanic told me I need to drive the NSX more otherwise it will start to rot, literally.
As an NSX owner I would not expect you to be a left lane cruiser....
Hi Chris! I love driving, but when I am in the Tesla Model Y, I use autopilot a lot and let it cruise with the flow of traffic. :)
Lots of acting on closing the frunk. I rarely use it. When I do super easy closing it. My ice vehicles don't have auto close. Nor auto open.

Is it void warranty?
Not for unrelated parts, but if you have trouble with any related parts, you should return it to stock first

I wonder if the "project juniper" model y update will make soft/auto close standard?
I don’t think they would, it is a feature that is usually reserved for luxury vehicles.
no
The highland model 3 even been redesigned to take away the possibility to install aftermarket powerfrunk, I think tesla would do it to juniper too.

Nope. But they have screens, which I think are easier to read than HUDs.
