    First reviewer I've watched, that are able to clearly convey to whom the intended audience of this camera is for.
    S9 is the perfect dad cam for me. I'm not a professional, I'm just an enthusiast with a lot of know how. When I'm out with my kids, my family, or I'm at family events, or most importantly, during traveling, I'm the sole photographer/videographer for the whole gang. I this fast paced day and age, a quick turnaround is what expected of me from my big family. Especially my parents who know little about editing process.
    During this time, usually with my Canon r6, I had to dump the files to my laptop (got to carry one as a necessity, I hate this tbh) AFTER the event/Itinerary, edit while everyone is taking their rest, and send it late at night when everyone is already asleep. They'll look and happy in the morning, but often what I found out was that, some was so impatient that they already posted the inferior (skewed angle, unflattering pose, cut off body parts, etc) images/videos, and it rendered my "work" less meaningful. Also, I'm sleep deprived while they are in a great mood thanks to the abundance of rest time 😅
    With this s9, imagine what I'd do now?
    For photos: I took a Pic and it immediately transfered to my phone without looking at my phone once, with the LUT that I already handpicked. Once there's a break/eating time, I just looked at the transferred images and do some cropping/image positioning, and send to all member. That's it.
    For videos: I'll just edit the videos timelines, add some effects/transitions, and export from the lumix lab/other mobile editor. Saying goodbye to color grading and most importantly, bringing my damn heavy laptop to a trip.
    It's gonna be perfect for me and a lot of parents alike. Those limitations are nothing for me. As long as I can attach a rode mic, it'll be fine already.
    Oh and since it can also transfer raw images at a fast speed as well, I'll do my "fun" editing at my own time, for my own pleasure another time.. Without any immediate pressure!
    Cheers!

    It’s the first camera I grab for everything aside from work now. I’m so happy with it that I sold my q3 a few weeks ago!
    I’ve been adapting my glass on to it and it feels like a mini m10!

    I ended up returning mine. Sucks cause I REALLY liked it. I think a V2 will be the best version though. It just needs an EVF for photography especially in the summer it's hard to use outside, an extra custom button or 2, and a few good pancake/small primes like Nikon made for the Zf. Then it's be perfect

      For sure! I actually haven't had much issues using this camera outside in San Diego mid day, it just drains batteries when the brightness is at +3

      @@loganwebb5449 got the Zf instead. No compromises and ya it's a little bigger body but considering the great small primes it fits in a bag way nicer. More expensive but when I'm spending over $1500 might as well spend a little more to get a full experience

      @@MatthewDangyou Feel you on that, I actually have no issues w/ the screen visibility, sun or not, I see it all. I keep it on max +5 even, and it doesn't drain battery too fast. I also have my camera set to sleep after 2min of non-usage AND I consciously shut the camera off when I'm not shooting. I get thru most days on 1 battery.

    We need more reviewers that review the camera based on a POV of the product's intended audience instead of professional POV all the time.
    Obviously not for pros, but for the intended audience, S9 could pave the way for more people to go full frame, especially content creator demographic.

    • @MatthewDangyou
      @MatthewDangyou  2 місяці тому

      Yeah there was other creators who were at the event but the issue is they don’t review cameras😂 so the intended audience wouldn’t review the camera😅🤷🏼‍♂️

    Nice video Matt! S9 uses the G100 style control, which I also feel is weird as all the latest cameras use the "s5II" style control instead.
    I'm going back to Japan soon, and yes I'm probably just bringing the S9 only and leaving my S5II, A7CR, XH2...etc at home!

    • @MatthewDangyou
      @MatthewDangyou  2 місяці тому +1

      Yeah for sure! It is the small details that matter, but 100% S9 would be the only travel camera for me (minus apart from video production work)

    You're the first reviewer to mention that the back dial doesn't cycle through the photos! As an S5II owner, that will def take some time getting used to. Good to know! Did a lot of other people on the Japan trip have an issue with it?

    perfect video of yours, as usual. This camera is indeed great! I am just thinking how people diffentiate themselves (for a good reason). I am faithful and proud Lumix user since G1 (2008). Never looked back. But i shoot only photos. I love photography ONLY and i hate video. Every time i open Premier pro dna try to work on that i feel nausea!!! On the contrary, every time i use Lightroom i feel i am in heaven! Anyway, perfect camera and prefect job of yours.

    Pancake lens vlogging options aren’t out so it’s a hard pass when the lens makes it big still

    I strongly disagree with you about the price. Its not more expensive than many fuji apsc cameras and no one complains about fujis prices. Sony a7 c is even more expensive, same kind of camera but it can do less and no one complains about sonys price either.

    • @MatthewDangyou
      @MatthewDangyou  2 місяці тому +3

      I think the price would be more reasonable the moment they get rid of the record limits. It is hard to try to tell someone to spend $1500 on a camera with a 15-minute record limit in 4K

    • @andersistbesser
      @andersistbesser 2 місяці тому +4

      @@MatthewDangyou no one other than professionals cares about record limits. This is a camera for private and social media stuff. Reels are 15 seconds... Most people who buy such a Lifestyle camera don't even film at all.again this is a full frame camera for the price of an apsc camera! It can do much more than a canon r8 at the same price and it can do much more than a more expensive sony a7c . I do professional fetish and boudoir videos and i could work within a 15 minute record limit using the s9 as b camera . For my kind of work no long takes are required at all and this is the case for most guys. . SoTo me the price is justified very much. I dont even know a full frame camera at this price as capable as the s9 for this kind of money.

    • @MatthewDangyou
      @MatthewDangyou  2 місяці тому +2

      @@andersistbesser For sure, but I guess if it had a 30 minute record limit that would at least make it a solid UA-cam talking head camera. Most of my videos take around 15-30 minutes to record. But besides that for sure you don't need more than 15 minutes to record broll and such

    • @andersistbesser
      @andersistbesser 2 місяці тому

      @@MatthewDangyou you said its not a pro cam and its true . Its not designed to be a youtube podcast camera. Tiktok, instagram, private stuff, short-form content, high quality stills. a beautiful lifestyle camera to carry everywhere. A youtuber buys other stuff and no one will film whole concerts with it. Just like the sony a7c and some fujis. Most reviewers judge this little thing like gh7 and co, i never saw a comparison video with a7c which is the closest competitor but i saw lots of comparisons with sonys 12mp video only camera , comparing video specs only not the photo features to make the sony look good..🤣. People dont talk enough about the realtime lut feature and the great app as well which proves to me that these guys dont understand the nature of this cam. People who buy this cam dont need mechanical shutter nor viewfinder, they dont monitor their audio the just run and gun, document what they arw doing while having fun.

    • @TopshelfJunior

      I feel you on this. I think it's priced perfectly ! Especially when you think about the Sigma FP-L is like $2500 lol. Heck, a used A7iii is $1300 lol.. And a used Nikon Z6ii are like $1300.. And the cameras I named don't do what the S9 can. (and vice versa on a few things, obvs but) I think the price is spot on. And if people dont like that, they can wait for an open-box or a used one, no biggie.
