I Hope The Lumix S1H Mark ii Is Not a Disappointment I Would Like It To Be 8K But Mostly If They Could Have 8K To 4K Downsample And If It Has Internal ND Filters That Would Be 🔥We Can Dream
If you set expectations like that, prepare to be disappointed... don't listen to any so called "Leaks", just take it as it from Panasonic when it gets announced
Lumix is doing a great job with their cameras but they really need to improve their marketing and communication with their customers. One of the reason that people have been so negative towards the S9 and S5D is that Lumix didn't communicate their intentions with those cameras and people got really mad because they had other expectations.
Waiting on that S1H Mk II (or a box camera variant of the MK II) if Pyxis doesn't get me first. I started out on Fuji XT3/XT4 but either my video needs have outgrown Fuji or Fuji have not taken advantage of the momentum of those cameras in the video space (beyond image quality) and I've been impressed with Panasonic/Lumix's dedication to their devices and not only improving them but packing them to the gills with video features. Its as if Lumix want to please their customer base. That said the market is in need of next generation cameras and there's a S1H MKII hole waiting to be filled.
Mon Camera from Panasonic M 3000, Panasonic NV-GS300,Panasonic AG-AC 90,I'm going to continue on Lumix,But they still have 4K Professional Camcorder HC-X20
Till S5II grow to R6II in 2 specs(FF4k and PDAF in high frame rates) they always be like "ehh, my broke cinematographer friend once mentioned that Lumix is great camera, but all youtubers choose Sony or Canon"
I will never go back to sony, unless lumix stops making cameras. As a former a7iv user, i love how i bought the s5ii cheap so it doesn't lose value like crazy each time a new camera gets announced. Also, lumix actually adding features and improvements with firmware.
I actually have both systems. Overall I love my Panasonics, ever since the original G9 which I still use. However, Sony AI AF and eye AF in general is so good. Panny has better stabilization and colors though. Anyway, how would you compare the eye autofocus between Sony and Panasonic?
@@Princeton_James After the lumix autofocus firmware update they are close. But the sony keeps track of focus better still. I've had my s5ii losing eye and face focus walking backwards while filming a host making hand gestures in front of his face. This was with higher focus sensitivity though. Also the a7iv touch to track focus mode is great but unusable on the s5ii
honestly all we need is s1h ii that's all, the s1h but with better autofocus such as they did on the s5ii/x or even better if possible, internal ND would be nice but honestly don't care that much for it, perhaps internal memory, which is something that no other major brand is doing, lumix really has the potential to be a powerhouse in the market, I switched from canon to lumix once the s5ii came out and I am so happy with it.
@@moojoo1972 I actually like checking false colors mid recording for commercial stuff. But it is for sure a nice tool to have when I don't have my monitor set up
I want an S2H asap, the lack of info gives me pause for the longevity of Panasonic cameras and wider adoption. Also, agreed with having a higher end cam like Eva-1, even if many don’t get it, I think one of the advantages of a Sony is the ecosystem of cameras, producers and Directors know an fx3 can cut with Sony’s other stuff easy, so it’s a better sell for DPs.. the arri log does help with that tho. Lastly, although L mount is great, the primes and sigma is specifically doing an amazing job, I want more lenses from Panasonic themselves, I may be old school but a good 16-35 f2.8 , these variable aperture lenses are just not my style…
well the 28-45 F1.8 might get you covered, but also the 16-28mm F2.8 is pretty solid option as well. For sure having the 16-35 would be nice, but I have been loving the 16-28 from sigma!
😂most people just be taking photos on their phones these days. We all know we get asked to take photos with video cameras these days. But on a real note, Sean mentioned on Lumix Live that it would cost more to take all the video features out of the cameras for a photo-centric camera. I mean they are still powerful photo cameras though but for sure I only use them really for video
By like literally 1% plus remember a lot of people (at least in the USA) shot on the GH5 because it was one of the first cameras (technically GH4) that has 4K and log
so you guys think lumix is better than canon? i ask that because canon is dominating the industry not sony...can any of the l mount lenses except from leica be even compared to the canon ones?
Well yes and no. Obviously canon has way more cinema cameras, and a whole range of different cameras. But one thing Lumix does different is they don’t limit certain features to protect the higher end models. For example the different clogs. I personally after working with a Canon for a few shoots prefer the more natural vlog look. And then for lenses there is a bunch of pro lenses for the L Mount plus including Leica because it is called an L Mount Alliance kinda for a reason😅🤷🏼♂️ But if you compared lumix cameras where they are to similar cameras in the same price point then I would say I prefer Lumix / find them better. They are just missing more higher end cameras right now
@@MatthewDangyou i exclude leica lenses cause they are way too expensive... someone that buys a 2000 camera don't think could buy a lens that cost 3 times that value.... anyway in my experience only the lumix lenses work good with the s5iix ....the whole L mount alliance is a marketing trick .... and i m not the only one that has experienced it .... but my question has not to do with the expensive canon cameras ....just the r6 ii that is in most ways far better than the s5iix .... better af, 4k 50 no crop, natural colors... and please don't start talking about open gate :D
I don't necessarily think it's about "better" it's about what camera is right for YOU (or ME) - for me over the years I've shot professionally on pretty much every camera / brand out there - I've always chosen to purchase LUMIX cameras for a reason - a combination of great image quality and video centric features. I didn't rate the R5 / 6 cameras - although I did come close to picking up the C70 - I went for the Komodo instead. For the mirrorless side I don't think there's anything out there that offers the same IQ / features for the price that LUMIX does. I also tend to adapt PL / EF glass anyway so whether Canon has better lenses or not doesn't really matter (their rf lenses are just too expensive for me - I own the Komodo too). The LUMIX S primes have won me over though - I own several of those.
@@EdProsser well i think the basic problem here is that we are talking about much different markets and jobs probably .... you are probably on another level since i guess you work in the US .... where i live most people that work on events etc would never use PL lens ... i am talking about simple jobs that 2 bodies and a 24-70 and a 70-200 would do the job .... that's i think the problem in groups also and in most UA-cam videos, people are talking about things maybe a small percent uses .... anamorphic or pro res raw.... i would need to get paid double in order to store a live music show with 3 angles on raw :D .... all i m saying is that even though i love lumix the issues with the s5iix are too many to call it the best at that price ...maybe as you said the best for you .... a friend of mine went bought it because he saw some youtubers calling it "the best" and now he cant sell it cause no-one here even knows the lumix brand, people on youtube dont understand their words have impact and there people out there that believe anything they see ...as when i had the s1 and couldn't get rid of it till it just died, hehe
Yeah for the lenses I feel like they are really comparable and the L Mount as a whole is still new but the nice part is RF just started letting other companies making those type of lenses. L Mount has a lot more development with Sigma, DJI, Black Magic. So many more companies use this Mount so the Mount as a whole will continue to grow over time. For the S5iiX I would argue the colors are much more natural and easier to grade than the canon colors. To me canon is nice but just a little to contrasty right out the bat. I prefer the UI of lumix, features like shutter angle, real time lut, proxy recording, camera to cloud, waveform. These are just much more professional video tools in a camera body that you wouldn’t see from canon since they need to protect the cinema line
Most of these ideas suggested in this interview are pretty bad from a business standpoint. Panasonic needs to stick with full frame AND micro43. Nothing else. Give us a small m43 camera with all the modern codecs and features at a low pricepoint as well as the S2H with the capabilities of the GH7 and Panasonic is #1 in the market. They just need to execute on those two cameras really well.
We mentioned the S1Hii😅🤷🏼♂️ but honestly I think the L Mount APSC sub $1000 or heck $800 would be perfect for beginners over a smal MFT. Think about the high schoolers who are getting into cameras eventually moving onto more expensive cameras. Sure you can get an MFT but then you can switch to full frame l mount without investing into a whole different ecosystem of lenses🤌🏼
Lumix is the only camera brand that values its customers. So much camera, for amount of money bigger brands sell you striped down budget models. Bigest Lumix problem is this video platform, they often get very unfair revues, and for using contrast focus they got su much BS from UA-camrs its a discrase. And this manufactored "debate" some UA-camrs have in their own heads m4/3 vs FF it seem to me desinged to further denegrate Lumix brand, and if you look m4/3 Lumix models, they are unbelivebly good. My oppinion is that Lumix haves a policy not to pay for rewies and UA-camrs obvously want to get paid for "Their honest unbiased opinions" and are behaving like vultures, delibratly making questanble reviews in order to force Lumix to pay. And when you listen to reviews of other brands it's obvious that espacialy Fuji and Sony, pay like crazy, Canon and Nikon as well and so "honest" reviewers somehowe always menage to overlook or miss the problems in cameras belonging to those brands.
if they put 5.8 k 50/60 in my gh7 or at least good 4k open gate 4k50 i am more than happy with lumix. when i have more money i would love to buy a s1h2 if it can match what a nikon z9 can do but the lumix way and with open gate recording. i am a classic gh user for me foto and video are equally important so no box camera for me. and they should update their mft lense firmware for gh7/g9 they did nothing to make them work better with phase detect af, and new innovative lenses for mft, the do nothing in this regard also
Lumix isn’t even 5 percent of the market. Pie charts showing market shares of different companies don’t even have Panasonic named, they’re literally in the “all other” slice lol,

a GH7 with swappable lens mount, maybe with a speedbooster, would be amazing! That would open the doors to use all the L mount apsc lenses sigma makes
alas, speedboosters occupy the space where the mirrorbox of a DSLR sat. there's no space for a speedbooster between two mirrorless mounts. MFT flange is 0.75mm shorter than the L mount flange distance.
@@video-carl if you could swap the mount like you can with Kinefinity cameras it might be possible
Camera is dead to me if they go for 8K over good rolling shutter performance.
I wouldn’t like an 8k camera with horrible rolling shutter performance. If they double or more the performance on a 6k sensor I’m very happy
Why don’t they let you put L mount lenses on GH7. And make a sigma type adapter for the GH7 to use EF glass?
0:44 I'm not sure that's how you say his name lmao
honestly all we need is s1h ii
that's all, the s1h but with better autofocus such as they did on the s5ii/x or even better if possible, internal ND would be nice but honestly don't care that much for it, perhaps internal memory, which is something that no other major brand is doing, lumix really has the potential to be a powerhouse in the market, I switched from canon to lumix once the s5ii came out and I am so happy with it.
There are false-color monitor LUTs for V-Log. I have one from Driftwood for free.
Yeah! I have one, but I don't believe you can turn that on mid recording though
@@MatthewDangyou Does one with 50% opacity work for you?
“Sony is dominant because of their marketing” 😅 that seems a bit reductionist even to someone who loves Panasonic like myself. 😅
Well they have completely abandoned photography. They just make giant video cameras that happen to do photos at this point.
Lumix is behid Fujifilm how can it take over the market? Even in the hottest dreams this is not possible.
By like literally 1% plus remember a lot of people (at least in the USA) shot on the GH5 because it was one of the first cameras (technically GH4) that has 4K and log
Fuji sucks though.
By giving better autofocus and ibis. Thank you!
Where do I get that t from :)
so you guys think lumix is better than canon? i ask that because canon is dominating the industry not sony...can any of the l mount lenses except from leica be even compared to the canon ones?
Well yes and no. Obviously canon has way more cinema cameras, and a whole range of different cameras. But one thing Lumix does different is they don’t limit certain features to protect the higher end models. For example the different clogs. I personally after working with a Canon for a few shoots prefer the more natural vlog look. And then for lenses there is a bunch of pro lenses for the L Mount plus including Leica because it is called an L Mount Alliance kinda for a reason😅🤷🏼♂️
But if you compared lumix cameras where they are to similar cameras in the same price point then I would say I prefer Lumix / find them better.
Lumix creator, please ask Lumix about S1Hii
🫡
Make S1r ii not so bulky and “ITS ALL OVERRRRRRR” Joe Rogon voice
Lumix is the only camera brand that values its customers. So much camera, for amount of money bigger brands sell you striped down budget models. Bigest Lumix problem is this video
platform, they often get very unfair revues, and for using contrast focus they got su much BS from UA-camrs its a discrase. And this manufactored "debate" some UA-camrs have in their own heads m4/3 vs FF it seem to me desinged to further denegrate Lumix brand, and if you look m4/3 Lumix models, they are unbelivebly good. My oppinion is that Lumix haves a policy not
to pay for rewies and UA-camrs obvously want to get paid for "Their honest unbiased opinions" and are behaving like vultures, delibratly making questanble reviews in order to
force Lumix to pay. And when you listen to reviews of other brands it's obvious that espacialy Fuji and Sony, pay like crazy, Canon and Nikon as well and so "honest" reviewers somehowe
always menage to overlook or miss the problems in cameras belonging to those brands.
s1h ii !!!!!!!
Behind Sony, Nikon, canon, Olympus, and Fuji ffs.
Lumix made a ton of mistakes. Lumix can’t compete unfortunately
if they put 5.8 k 50/60 in my gh7 or at least good 4k open gate 4k50 i am more than happy with lumix. when i have more money i would love to buy a s1h2 if it can match what a nikon z9 can do but the lumix way and with open gate recording. i am a classic gh user for me foto and video are equally important so no box camera for me. and they should update their mft lense firmware for gh7/g9 they did nothing to make them work better with phase detect af, and new innovative lenses for mft, the do nothing in this regard also
Lumix isn’t even 5 percent of the market. Pie charts showing market shares of different companies don’t even have Panasonic named, they’re literally in the “all other” slice lol,
Yet they have some of the best cameras on the market. The s5iix is better than 90% of sony cameras and the best camera in its price range.
