Your hay is looking good this year. I like the look of your Normande cows. I considered using them as a cross for our dairy cows when we had them. The two things that concern me with them is udders and size. They are a lot of cow to maintain, have you ever considered crossing them with NZ jersey.
Most of our Normandes are pure bred. We do have a couple crosses. We haven’t had the best luck with crossing them. We do like their large size more cow to feed but they are more valuable when they’re done milking.
I'm doing sq bale dry here here. It's becoming almost 9:44 impossible now to get 3 good days in a row. I can see why a lot of farmers wap there hay. Unfortunately we sell to a lot of horse people who still want sm dry squares.
You two make a wonderful team!! I appreciate how well you treat your animals and Mother Earth.
some good looking hay
Some nice hay. I wouldn't get too close to Heather when she is spearing hay. She was on a mission. 😂😂
I’ve learned to keep out of her way when she’s set on getting stuff done!

It was a happy day when we sold our last square baler! I do like the ease of feeding square bales in the winter though.
What did you call the stuff that was 4 foot tall in the field, and what is it?
Vetch. The cows love it.
