Daily life on a 100 acre organic dairy and farmstead creamery in Central Maine. We milk Normamde cows and transform the milk into raw milk aged cheeses right at the farm. We also raise pigs for pork and chickens for eggs.

A lot of work putting in the cold smoker. It is going to be interesting to see how the cheese turns out. I laughed at the pig looking over the stall at the new piglets. 😂 Did you lose your coffee mug? I see you had a jar instead. So many behind the scenes jobs that people have no idea about.

Do you bull bred only or do you AI Any? I mostly AI here. Have ever thought about putting any locking feed panels in the cow barn for working animals?
How about naming the new smoker Big Mamma or Chubster? This sure was an interesting video! Loved it all!

Welcome home. It always amazes me how the animals know exactly what is around them. The milker girls knew the camera was something different as they walked past and had to explore it. haha.
It is amazing how they can find a tiny camera then have to play with it!
Have you ever considered filling in the middle of your milking barn. It would make milking those lower uttered cows better i believe.
We have thought about changing it up. Our cows used to be trained to stand up on the platform over time bad habits have spread.

Do the cows only get molasses in the winter?
Yes. We only feed when they’re getting stored hay/feed and not on pasture
Are you going to remove the horns on those heifers that have them?
Yes!! They where actually dehorned as calves and the vet somehow didn’t get them all! Would call the vet back but they’ve gotten out of large animals.
