Already did... got a guy named Segura as assistant, he was Head of youth somewhere and we won SERIA A in the first season with Milan... second season and won the italian super cup and we are tied with Juventus in first place with 10 games to go and in the 16th of UCL against Atletico Madrid
Great video Jake, I hope you have fun playing this way, it's been a blast for me. I'd recommend also adding your chosen assistant's tactical preferences on the tactics screen to make sure they're training between matches for the right style of play, and absolutely get rid of your director of football when you start this kind of save as well - having two is cheating! I personally find it much more enjoyable to do this without the editor, its huge fun to tie yourself to the success or failure of your assistant manager. Who will I start with as DoF? Worthing, then Birmingham, then Everton. Going pretty well so far 😊
I literally just wrote a comment recommending your DOF series then saw you had already commented. Anyone looking for another great DOF series to watch check out 'Games Tell Stories'!
I have been doing something like this since forever. In one of the previous FMs I've got Galtier (he used to be an assistant) as an assistant coach, but I made him do it all, and he did great.
If SI added this to FM24 I think it would stop many people getting bored halfway through a save. I’d much rather have this option. Can we get it trending on Twitter and copy in Miles?
I've been asking for this kind of thing for years. I was thinking more like a chairman mode? hire and fire managers staff and dof? Be involved in negotiations, sponsorships, stadiums, etc. build a club up and sell it on, and then can buy another club depending on how much money you have.
So far Ive been doing pretty much the same thing except I'm using an OP downloaded tactic for matches. The assistant manager thing sounds a lot more realistic and challenging. Honestly this way of playing is a lot more fun than having to deal with the match engine and other FM bs, AND you can actually progress without having to devout entire days to FM lol.
A tip that Clayts has not fully grasped: you need to appoint an ass man that plays your favorite formation AND style of play. So, if you want to play 4231 Gegenpress, search for a candidate that fulfills both conditions.
I sort of play like this after my first 2 saves or so whenever a new FM comes out. Much less time consuming and still interesting enough to keep me hooked.
Thanks for the short wrap up. I was just wondering what Clayts has done futher, because he is also able to watch the games and has his assistant manager on the sideline in games, and has his ass.manager getting awards for manager of the month. So he just found a way so the game sees his ass.manager as the actual manager. I think to get this work makes the DoF saves way more enjoyable, because i dont want to sim a CL final. Any ideas how set this up?
This is what happens normally. I've been playing as DoF and my assistant always gets mentioned as manager on manager of the month awards, as I "go on holiday" for a day on match days.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think with the editor you can change staff members interest in certain roles. Couldn't you just make it so that Pep genuinely wants to be an assistant with no interest in regular management?
I kinda do a hybrid version of this, by doing instant result on many games. So, I pick the lineup and tactics, but let the assistant takes care of the in-game stuff. Is my assumption correct? Does the assistant manage subs and any other in-game adjustments, or not really?
This is a mode I would like to see. Oh, sack the current DOF, this will then get the Ass Man (manager) to suggest players and that can only be a good thing.
why dont just change your role to a DoF with the Ingame editor, sack your self, then rejoin the club. It should make you a DoF then instead of a Manager no? edit: i tried it. Its a bit scuffed but works tho. My official title is DoF when i go to my profile and i can still do stuff like contracts, transfers and change some staffs resposebilities. Only downside is you shouldnt go on holiday to much rather sim to the next match because if youre on holiday (not always) the club tries to buy new players on their own.
Fm does need to include this as well as Interim opportunity, stadium editor to make it more similar, player loyalty or player interested in playing for manager. We've not really seen changes that are good enough
For the last one, does that mean that you could find a world-beating wonderkid that costs £1, but had interest in playing under you, you could sign him for a random club in the 5th division of Poland?
That Clayts dude stole the idea off a channel called Games Tell Stories... Shame you never created the original creator, maybe there is some sort of brotherhood between some creators and not others, some sort of lodge based system..

@@joemakogaming2491 thank you!
FM should make all positions available, from player to chairman, and internationals!!! that would be an awesome improvement for FM25 or FM30

I have tried this and you can actually get some high profile managers to be assistances with the staff search, its rather good.

He must add a new manager and use them to view the match I think
This is what happens normally. I've been playing as DoF and my assistant always gets mentioned as manager on manager of the month awards, as I "go on holiday" for a day on match days.
DOF is great fun. I learned a lot from doing it that I just wouldn't from being a manager

Yes he does if you instant result. If you holiday then assistant picks lineup too, but you can set it so he uses your tactic if you want to.
I've been doing this forever it's much more fun
Well explained thanks jake 👍
i delgated everything and use match tactics was unticked , but don't think it worked as in october luis enrique was 17th with chelsea .....
Is assisstant manager is the same with assisstant coach? My Milan has no assisstant manager, but has assisstant coach. I'm new in soccer world, sorry.
Definitely should be added to next year's game. They need something big and new not a whole lot of changes in this year's compared to last year's game
Soon we’ll find out how to be like Gerard Houllier (R.I.P) and Roy Evans and see if there is a joint managers position.
can you use in game editor on demo version
ive been playing as manager since Championship Manager 93/94 lol... I could do with a new game mode😂
id love a mode like that in the game but i guess we will never get that even tho itd be super easy to implement...
This is a mode I would like to see. Oh, sack the current DOF, this will then get the Ass Man (manager) to suggest players and that can only be a good thing.

Did you played more in this role and have some additional feedback? Are you also able to sign actual Managers?
Can i do this on the mobile version

Not the only morally questionable thing Clayts has done, either.

If you take the job at Juve do you get a 30 month worldwide ban as well? 😂
