My technique is when the co pilot says minimum .. I press 'e' to idle my engine.. Then when I feel the plane is touching the ground I press 'delete' to toggle on the reverse thrust and then press and hold '9' to increase the reverse thrust Also speed brake is important too press shift+'}' to extend maximum speed brake capacity.. It is also worth noted that to descend according to the target altitude in the route manager.. For every checkpoint there is number indicating the target altitude at that checkpoint..also try to target 135 knots of airspeed before landing Because that's recommended from Google for 737 boeing
in the 787, when i turn on lnav, it just turns to the left and keeps going. ive tried ils on many planes, and they dont work for some reason. i need help

Use your Rudder to stay straight on the runway. Mouse should be in "+" mode and hold down left mouse button and "steer" to keep straight on track.
Helpful!
