This is an awesome video! I've been pulling my hair trying to get the autoland to work properly. Your explanations were very helpful. On a side note as of 2020.3.15 the VNAV is pretty awesome. 1. Ensure FD and AT are turned on, 2. Set you desired altitude, 3 press the FLCH (flight change) button, and check FD for FLCH on your ADI, 4. press AT Hold button, 5. Make sure your autopilot is spooling up N1 and N2 thrust levels. 6. Altitude will hold when desired FL is reached.
Man, thank you so much!! I managed to land in a few airports, Valletta in Malta and Fiumicino Rome before using automatic landing until minimums were called then disengaged autopilot and controlled descent with my mouse, but your method is perfect and I also love that you actually use the autopilot panel rather than FG's autopilot settings. Thanks a million!
I did the same thing at you, but LAND 3 didn't appear when I were near the airport (from Paris Charles de Gaulles to London Heathrow) 🥲. I did click on the LDG button. What happened to me? ☹️
BIG problem As soon as i Engage Auto-Pilot ,I get a message saying"Auto Pilot disengaged" and yes i on it only above 1 K feet but i still get the message ;C
You need to have your controls (almost) centered. Best option is to press 5 on the numpad with active "NumLock" to center them, then you should be able to engage the autopilot.
On the ceiling panel of the cockpit towards the front there should be lighting controls. If I recall, there is a storm light switch/dial that works rather well

Wow, thanks to your video, I actually landed a 777 in flightgear!
Not so Daily, Thanks for the FlightGear love!Always appreciate your content and look forward to more.
That was a semi butter landing considering that was a full out auto land
The localizer doesn't show up for me. Unless there's no ILS at the airport
I decided not to like your video because it was at 69 likes. Really like your vids
can someone please explain why my plane doesnt turn on autoland ? It is also not perfectly alligned
Quick question, is there a option to do a short landing immediadly?, to just practise landings
The launcher gives you a option to start of final for a runway. About 10 miles out should be fine
etting?
i just got one of this 777 so how did you get this panel
