What a useful video Mike showing what other carvers don`t show, Jordy Johnson shows burrs from Kutzall mostly aggressive, very helpful though!!!
I'm going to have to try, Kutzall, sometime. So far I have only used Sabur tooth. They look like really good aggressive bur type. Thanks John, It's always good to hear from you!
I just finished reading your book, this little video is the perfect addition to it. Thanks Mike!
Thank you for purchasing my book, Jay! I hope you have a lot of fun making a snake stick!

Oh i so wish i could own a stick like this... my grand father used to have a sticked with carved mini elephants and zebras in a tower kind of design... and i still have it.. although it was damaged a portion of the top was broken off when i got it.. but i love it and wish i could have a piece like that with me.. to pass it on to my grand children someday...
Thank you, Saadi! Your grandfathers stick sounds amazing! A great treasure! Sorry it has been broken.

Great video! I always wondered what types of tools you used. Thanks for sharing. God bless!
Thank you, Doug!
Thanks so much for sharing your choice of tools. I have already been using some for the carvings I'm doing inspired by your work but can see that there are a numbef tools I need/want that can help me move along further in my carving obsession! Again, thanks and give Pearl a pat from me.
Очень позновательный ролик. Благодарю. Дерево похоже на ясень. Я тоже работаю борфрезами " кутзал" и " сабур". Только они очень дорогие. Здоровья и творческих успехов.🤝
Thank you, Oleg! The wood is cedar. The Sabur tooth burrs are expensive, but they work very good.
Thanks Mike, very helpful information!!
Glad it was helpful, Jimmy!
Seu talento e único, você tem uma capacidade incrível de passar realismo em suas obras, admiro muito seu trabalho. Um 👍aqui do 🇧🇷

You are so welcome!
You are AMAZING! Thank you
Mr Stinnett, all your works are amazing. I love your videos... Inspired by your work, I even made a cane with a coiled rattlesnake... For being the first, I think it turned out really cool... The ones you make, the grade is 10... I did, note 6...
Thank you, Ivan, and congratulations on making your first rattlesnake stick!
You were and always will be my teacher!
Thank you, Mike, for the information on your carving tool selection. I do a lot of woodwork but have never done any significant carving work. This information will lead me to better choices in carving tools. I'm a photographer and would love to do some carvings of bird species I have caught on film.
Best regards to You, Pearl and your Family.
You're welcome, Rob! You will really enjoy carving birds and other wildlife, I'm sure!
Maravilloso trabajo. Lo haces parecer fácil.
Thanks for the valuable information.
My pleasure!
*Mike, Please give Pearl a pat from me. Gosh Mike, without all these wonderful modern tools of today, to make these great carvings... I have to wonder how long it would have taken, to make each of these carvings, like back in the day before these tools, were ever thought of.*
I gave Pearl her pat, Andrea! The tool definitely save me a lot of time!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge Sir 😃
You're very welcome!

Very enjoyable 😊👍
Thank you, Mark!
Extraordinary 👏
I could use the tool to take out the wood to size and the 1/2 “ sander . I got a little chainsaw like a drill that’s cordless that I use and my angle grinder with different attachments to widle away with .
I've thought about using a little cordless chainsaw, but I've been afraid I might make a mistake and cut too deep. Haha!
@@StinnettSticks I thought same but you go slow it works out just fine

Why is this channel not getting more followers?
What tool and bits do you use to burn the scales, is it just a soldering iron with a changeable end bit?
I use Razertip wood burner with a BPH pen and snake scale tips. You can find the burning tools and most of the other tools at Treeline. bit.ly/37mzHvC

God bless you too my friend!
One tool Mike has that can't be found online or made by his own hands though its in nearly every video is Pearl of course and is a multi tool like no other...
Do you make patterns for the snakes or free hand the drawings?
Thanks for a video! Sorry, the link "TOOLS I USE" in a description is not clickable. It redirects to Amazon, but I see a "Page not found" message.
