I miss when Enduring countered all the stuns no matter what. It was so satisfying countering DS and Head on with it or catching up super fast if someone dropped a pallet on you if you were carrying someone. You really felt like an absolute tank.
Yeah, it used to prevent pallet stuns when I was picking up survivors! But now pallet stuns still make me drop them even if I have Enduring equipped. :(

While trapper was weaker back then in many regards I’d argue he did have a really good benefit from under hooked traps allowing him to patrol further and still prevent an unhook or at least prevent a not trade unhook
Ive been binging your videos, brings me back memories of the good old days. Or rather the not so good days when it comes to dbd. Please make more of these types of videos as long as you have ideas!
@@youtube-kit9450 It was less competetive then and was a unique idea everyone loved. But still, BEHV did almost take to long. It was about Legion update that the number of passionate players dwindled and the more annoyed ones came about.
even tho i dont play the game anymore its still intriguing and fun to watch these videos so great work on making them, by the way you ever consider making a video on other popular yet less controversial perks like BBQ and chili since they were not exactly game breaking but still provided a massive buff to the killers that used them
It still works really well with Freddy's dream pallets as survivors are really greedy about pallet stuns. It never fails to amuse me when they teabag behind a pallet and it breaks in their face.
I think pain resonance would be a video worthy perk to go over, while not being super old it has lots of meta use and doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon even after it has gotten changed and nerfed. Pain resonance is used as a “must have” perk slot in our current day just like ruin, enduring, and brutal.
Yoooo the rayman arena soundtrack is finally getting its recognition. Also Jesus I’m happy that we got newer killers even if I’m not using them sense I’m a legion main it’s still good that we now have more
Anyone else remember the machine gun meta unelenting before it's Nerf and save the best for last Don't even get me started when there was a duplication per glitch where you could have four unrelentings equipped
I’m kind of glad I started playing when I did (5 months ago). I’ve been hearing a lot of players say the game is at its strongest and best nowadays. Seeing a video like this I feel like confirms it
oh yes the glory days of dbd , but tbh as much as it improved much more i would love if there was something along lines of dbd classic so u could play on older patches, but thats just me
You know, in hindsight, I finally understand how DBD got a following given how disgusting it used to be. It was a haven for the kinds of people who think kicking babies is funny.
A couple of things: 1) the Wraith had basically an insta-down combo using the Windstorm addon and Enduring perk that worked pretty reliably against survivors who would wait to drop pallets. The idea was that you uncloaked and hit the survivor on the far side of a pallet right after the survivor started to drop the pallet, but before it lowered to the point at which it stunned the killer. The stun animation would override the weapon-clean animation, and Enduring would mean that the stun animation lasted less than a second, leaving the Wraith free to land a second hit pretty much immediately. The idea of the weakest killer in the game using pallet vaccuum against the survivors is just delicious to me, even now. This was about the highest-skill thing Wraith could do, and as an OG Wraith "main" I pretty much had the timing of the technique perfected. I miss it. 2) The Trapper may be weaker than he is now, but he was still the strongest killer in the game by a massive margin not long after release, and the reason is simple: he could put traps directly under hooks to catch any survivor trying to save, or a survivor trying to escape (which few did because "luck perks" weren't a thing back then either) resulting in a pretty much guaranteed kill if the Trapper just stuck around the hook for long enough. I remember playing survivor not long after the game was released, and I had something like six or seven games in a row spent with a killer just camping a hook with a trap directly underneath it. Killers literally wouldn't use traps for anything else but this. It was... not fun. Yes, Hillbilly might be "objectively" better at getting four kills, but here's the thing - you rarely saw him. I'd actually be interested to see the stats on this one because this may be a case of "false memory" syndrome, but back then it seemed like the only killer you always encountered was Trapper.
I agree trapper was so common back then not to mention the kobe animation was slower and camping was much stronger because you could just stand in front of the hook and other survivors couldn’t save i also remember trappers somtimes trapping infinite on maps but also a lot survivors weren’t good which made down’s incredibly easy most players hid all game I remember just getting trapper endlessly and maybe an occasional billy with insta saw not to mention you could mori after first downs forcing the game into 3v1s which were actually how most games went back in the day
I've never been able to tell if it's the dev team that's scared of killers being lethal or the higher ups? The fear of strong killers has led to some insane choices. The continual nerf of killer slow down perks ignores the reason why those perks were run in the first place.
You know every time people addresses Hillbilly being weak because of his overheat mechanic it straight out confuses me 🤷🏻♂️ he’s weak because behavior changed his turn rate drastically, useless add-ons, and map design. (Clutter everywhere)
hey, i love all your videos and look forward to you putting them out, and i think a cool video idea would be going over the strongest state of every killer. I saw karq do this video with overwatch and it was really interesting.
IMO, Enduring is still one of hillbillys best perks today, its not as powerful as it was, but it still is valuable. Tinkerer is alright in certain situations, and lightborn is very situational and you dont even know to when bring nowadays since you never know if that meg has blast mine or flashbang.
Oh, and let's not forget that Update 1.7.0 was the same update that came with The Cannibal, AKA: The same update that came with Bubba and the best perk in the game for literal years, as from Patch 1.7.0 until Patch 6.1.0, it could double bloodpoint gain on every killer whilst also providing some great information on survivor locations. Saw auras? Chase them down. Don't see auras? Start patrolling the local area, they are close by. They took Brutal Strength out of the Meta but threw BBQ&C right back in to fill the slot. You didn't need it to win, but if you were opting to level any character, having BBQ&C on your main was basically halving the time it took for you to get them to P3 and thus get all their perks. I will say though, whilst I do reminisce about the days where BBQ&C was giving me enough BP to finish a whole level of my Bloodweb from a single match, a lot of the changes they have made to some of the older killers were needed and I think that it's good they got changed. From what I can remember of my time playing Bubba, he wasn't really the greatest and playing Billy would have been much better, but now that he has an actually decent kit? I enjoyed going back to him for Adept Cannibal. Is Bubba a pain in the ass anymore where you see one person get stuck in Basement and know that they are fucked? No, and that's wonderful!
I ran BRUTAL STRENGTH with ENDURING on trapper. STILL VIABLE IN 2023😊 mainly because once you force them to use the pallet they are forced to rotate to other loops that most likely had my traps on them.
