I was searching for a video on how to attach a Magpul sling clip to a Magpul MOE stock and came across your video. I like your format; no background video, no b.s. intro for several minutes. Just straight to it with great camera work. For covering the serial numbers and license plates, maybe get a thick non adhesive vinyl sticker with your channel logo on it so you can put it over the parts of the car/rifle you want to hide. Request: could you make a video on how to attach a sling to a Magpul MOE stock using their clip without a QD mount. I was thinking of paracord or a bit of webbing with a d-ring but both are a bit clunky.
Tsuchida, Ok, I made a License Plate similar to a Regular State Plate, but instead of the number I put my Logo. That is a great idea! As for your Magpul MOE Stock, a D-Ring or other metal ring would have metal on metal noise, but I have a Metal Back Plate / Sling Mount on my Lower Receiver so this may be ok. The 550 cord would be ok, if you use several strands, but I'm not sure I like the idea. Your Magpul stock does have 2 or 3 Slots for webbing, this is probably best used if you are not going to make it Quick Disconnect. Let me know how it goes! Thanks for the comment. - Stiles
E5C, You are welcome! Slings are a matter of your preference, how you carry the rifle and what you are using it for. I want to sling and carry my rifle "at the ready", and also renegade it across my back. I appreciate the feedback. - Stiles
Well have most of the items for my rifle . Magpul sling is the choice but didn't realize the list was as attentive to implementation as to weapon execution. So the / this video has me re-looking at the mounts - location attachment- position hang relief - thanks for the help very informative. A friend did tell me people end up with a couple of slings as the go. Magpul is it, it's just the set up I'll be looking at with more attention. Thank you sir. Be safe.
Uginn, You are very welcome! Yep, Sling setup is a preference thing, how and what you will use your rifle for. A great thing about the Magpul Sling that I'm using with the Quick Disconnects is that you can easily remove it for cleaning and you can use it on another Rifle, if you choose to. I like to have a Sling on each Rifle, but you don't have to. - Stiles
FGM, yep, Sling position and style is a matter of preference. I do use a One Point Sling on just one of my Rifles, but I don't like the lack of control and I don't like my Rifle pointed at my Foot. I don't mind it pointed near my Foot, but not at my Foot. Anyway, I think the Magpul Sling is made so you can use it, try it, and change it if you want to. - Stiles
If you attach the back of a sling on the opposite side of your butt stuck in the back, you’ll have way more adjustability, it’s way more comfortable, and it won’t be hitting stuff when you’re maneuvering or trying to be quiet or whatever so it would be on outside of the stock where it touches your right forearm not where the stock touches your chest
Thanks for the great video, very informative. What are your thoughts about using a QDM on the buttstock rather than a Paraclip on the rear of the receiver?
Skbid, Yes I did, but didn't think I would like the sling mounting location moving with the movement of the Stock. It may not be a big issue. And this Stock has a plastic QD Hole, some of my Stocks have a metal insert, I may try it on the metal insert. - Stiles
Solid video! Could I loctite the screws on the QD mount to the hand guard? Or not a good idea? I have bad luck with sling mount screws walking out. Thanks 🤙🏽
Wade, the Magpul QD Mount Screws already have a Thread Sealer on them. I would not use the Red Loctite unless I had to. If the Screw loose with the Magpul Loctite on them, Yep, I would clean them up with the Wire Brush and Loctite them. I appreciate the feedback! - Stiles
Thank you for the video. What I am still confused about is how much do you tighten the T-nuts before placing the accessory on the rail/hand guard, I can't seem to get it right.
Baba, It seems simple, I show the Direction Sheet from Magpul in the video at about 9:15. You do need to be careful, the T-Nuts have little ears on them and you're mounting on Aluminum. Are yours coming loose? - Stiles
Jay, No, not at all. The padding is very long and is where you need it at any adjustment length of the sling. I do know what you mean, I have had Slings with short Pads and they didn't end up where you need them. These MAGPUL Slings are very good, I like them! - Stiles
I still have a sling in the box and I now can not find it I hide it somewhere because I didn't know how to install it and a for grip for picany rail and I have the slotted hand guards are not compatible
Hey does this sling come with all the attachments or just the sling? I was trying to order it from magpul but it looks like it just comes with the sling part
Aaron, the Padded Slings (same Sling, just different colors) come without Attachments and just with the MS1 Slider. I purchased the Attachments separately. - Stiles
I’m an AK and M1A guy. I’m really starting to regret buying an AR-10. You can’t even mount a sling to it. I haven’t even shot it yet and maybe I never will.
TDK, I'm not sure what your issue is. The AR-10 has a number of different Hand Guards and Stocks, both of which you can mount a Sling Swivel to. - Stiles

I like the "one-point" adapter. Better to have and not need than to need and not have😉

Great video, thanks for the info and being very detailed. Wish all gun tubers did videos like this.

Thank so much this Vidoe is very helpful

Thanks for this video - I may have missed it, but where did you end up using the second paraclip? I'm only seeing the one paraclip in use
Dolfan, Nope, you didn't miss it, I ended up not using it. I appreciate the comment! - Stiles

Tank, (I'm an Abrams guys, myself), there are a number of companies that make picatinny rail mounts, you should be able to find something! - Stiles
Thank you .

Insane how much talking can be done about a sling attachment
Bing, Tru-that, since setting up a Sling is a preference thing, I'm sure many, many more things could be said. - Stiles

Literally what🤦🏼♂️

That’s a very intelligent post. (Sarcasm)
Dude never heard of paracord and duct tape
