- Previously Abandoned, to supercharged, to burnt, to...re-revived? I don't know - but I'm about to attempt a 700+ mile trip in this Corvette through a winter storm! Why? Because it makes no sense. Also, I traded this for another car Sight Unseen!

This channel has grown by 300,000 subscribers since I discovered her during the shutter-DOWN. Way to go, Derek!
Thanks for the support
I really look forward to the day Derek and the family hit 1 million subs, can't come soon enough as they really deserve it. A few Cleetus events this year should go a long way towards helping that number, I admit to name dropping the channel often in other channels comment sections, best UA-camr by miles for me.
I sub'd Derek's channel when he was still under 250K it's grown Alllllot since then.... Well I'll be DIPPED!
Oh and Derek... I figured out what's Under that Car Cover that you traded for... My Birth Year and one of my Fav Car's... You can tell the difference by the Grill
Subbed in the 50K range, first episode I watched, I remember thinking this guy is going to connect with many. So happy for him and his family.
@Kommie Watch id like to imagine the bought vs built analogy/metaphor between the two guys. Derek being the built guy.
I love the attempt to clap off the annoying tape sound. 🤣
Yeah, he needs to get his clapper fixed !
Most underrated channel on UA-cam.
Thanks

I am 55 years old here.
Watching your kid work with you there brought back some great old memories of crawling around under the hood with my dad. I was smiling like a Cheshire Cat seeing him pulling the cover uppers. The it got really dusty in here. Must be the heavy pollen down here in Tennessee. I'm not crying, you're crying. Hush.
it is not like this hobby is going away. I am 48.. my sbc is at 387k miles still rowing the hurst. Quit ur crying. ;)
I believe it's the pollen. It's bad here in my hermetically sealed work/ play shop. I'm 58. I watch my two grandsons 4yr and 5yr olds 3 or 4 day's a week 8hrs a day .growing up my dad built stock cars in a small shop in the back yard. The boy's and I spend 99.9% of the time in my shop doing all sorts of stuff. That I'm sure will become wonderful memories for all of us. PEACE
@@bgd73im 26 i dont know what sbc is but if you mean a c3 at 350k miles!? Im buying one
It’s so nice seeing Derek teaching his son. Reminds me of when I was a kid always tinkering on cars with my dad. I’m 38 now and my dad is 74 and we’re still tinkering in the garage just like we always did.
I could think in fractions before I could read, thanks to working on cars with my Dad from the time I could walk. I think of him every time I fix a car, which is quite a lot these days. Every time I find a socket on the ground, I recall when I was convinced my name was 'Goddamn it, Bolton!' as in where is my 9/16 socket again?!
Reminds me of my Dad teaching me how to work on vehicles sure miss working with him
Sameasidid, but with motorcycles
That's great, lost my dad suddenly five years ago at Christmas,he took my heart with him but we had a great relationship, spend as much time together as you can 👍👍👍
Yeah he's even got his kid using those stupid ass names that ain't even funny
I was crying real tears when he said not sure if you can hear that. But that tape is whippin pretty good now.
BEEN THERE.
Derek never fails,to impress, with his knowledge, that together with his on camera personality he is a by far the best thing going ...
It's that 4w 30 flavour we all love
I don't know how you do it, but ya make a guy feel like he's along for the ride. 👍🇺🇲
“You’d think that would be refreshing, but no” slayed me. Thanks for brightening up our days bud.
Me too, mostly I'm just grinning but this time I broke out in laughter I had to hear it twice!! Totally worth the hour of playtime.
If there were more fathers like Derek the world would be a better place.
Well there are, don’t forget it’s now normal to use dads as nothing more than a cash cow for bitter exes.
Amen. My dad didn't do anything like this and he disapproved my love of working on and driving old cars.
@@Vile-Flesh I know plenty of dads out there who would love to do this, instead they make sure kids are fed and have clothes on their back, teach them fishing, life skills, and love them kids the best they can while they have them.

Dude this is one of your best videos. I almost died laughing at 43 minutes when that noise started. There's nothing like driving junk on long trips. Brings back so many memories. 👍

The noise that the duct tape was making and then the resultant yelling “stop!” and then Derek’s facial expressions had me bawling with laughter. Wife’s like, “What’s that noise?” I reply through tears and laughter, “ my favorite UA-cam channel. This guy is hysterical.”

I respect Derek for not wanting to be “that guy” in a deal. I’ve been on the short end of the stick a time or two on some motorcycles and I’m glad theres still people out there that care about a fair trade.

Absolutely love your road trip videos! I love the music, the timing of them, the updates on issues, the duct tape. I think they feel so right because it's up here in the north on roads I have traveled. Keep up the awesome work!
Derek reminds me of my dad. I remember as a kid helping him sneak old motorcycles past our house into the yard so my mom wouldn't see and then 'helping' him clean and repair them in the hope of getting to go on adventures with him when they were fixed. Only in later life did I relaise that mom knew perfectly well but she liked the excitement it caused in her kids espescially the big one she married.

Hell yeah brother, don't cause ur self an injury
Always check your lugs on aluminum rims after putting them on and driving a short distance and it's a good idea to check them regularly. They are notorious for coming loose and it doesn't matter if you have 4 5 6 or 8 lugnuts. I found that out i guess the easy way when driving a 3/4 ton truck with side racks and a load of mulch taller than the cab when luckily I felt one weird sway coming out of a corner and started slowly down. At around forty my driver side back tire passed me and somehow didn't hurt the bed of the truck. Had one heck of a flat spot on my brake drum though.
