சமணர் கோவிலாக இருக்க வாய்ப்பு இல்லை. விமான வடிவம் சோழர் கால சிவன் கோயில் வடிவமே. நிச்சயம் பல கட்டுக்கதைகளை அவிழ்த்துவிடும் உள்ளூர் ஆசாமிகள் தான் உள்ளே இருந்த மூலவர், உற்சவர், நந்தி சிலைகளை களவாடியவர்களாக இருக்க கூடும்.
It's good that the lake was renovated..... So everyone have put some effort in saving the Sundareshwar temple...... Atleast in the near future this temple has to be renovated.......
This temple should have been built before the period of Chola king Kandar Aadiththanaar....... The architecture seems to be a mixture of bricks & granite stones.......
Though the inscriptions might be 13th Century, the architecture seems to be very old....... After 1000AD(Rajaraja Sozhan - Cholaa), Chola's started building temples with Granites alone with the latest technologies as to the availability in their period..... We could see Jain's(Samanar padugai) presence here which means that temple might be very old....... Carbon dating will give clear picture......
Yes might be. But based on architecture only we concluded at 13th century. There were no inscriptions found. It may have destroyed earlier. We are looking for it in the British records

We can't make our own story based on imagination, No one would burry the temple consciously. There must be a reason for not maintaining the temple. Raised Soil (Karai) may be done to stop the water coming out of the lake, again to safeguard the village. You want temple or safety of village? If someone ask this kind of question, I probably go with Village, because safety of village is utmost important that anything else. Ohm namasivaya
So many hundred acres of land should be there for this temple which the residents of the village will be doing agriculture by paying annual tax. Kindly probe. Only after the DK fellows came all such things happen and no fear of GOD in the society.
