I was very fortunate when I picked this up as SA was having a magazine promotion at the time. Since then, I've got very comfortable with this platform and happy with the groups at self defense distances. It's been my Wed-Thurs carry. IMO, excellent value for the package! Great video!!
Amazes me how videos I watch on this gun that no one mentions the other mags springfield offers that not only up the capacity but make the grip a fullsize grip

Another thing I did to mine…
I struggled with the grip and holding onto the xdm when firing full bore underwood 10mm. I put a talon grip on it and it makes the gun much more locked into my hand. Give them a try
I haven’t had any issues with the grip, I do like talon grips but I didn’t notice a need for them on this one.
I think the xdm elite is the best 10mm made right now,
I agree. I loved my Fullsize from the start and the 3.8 will be taking winter carry role

I like that pistol a lot. You can never have too many 10mm's in my estimation.

Thanks for doing this video. I think the gun community in generally really sleeps on the Xdm elite, especially the 10mm options. Maybe it’s residual hating on Springfield Armory, I don’t know. I still think it’s the best polymer 10mm option out there right now and checks more boxes than the 20 and 29.
I have one with the red dot on and one without. The without I use for pocket carry. The red dot I use for ISW or outside waist. Excellent gun.

Do what we all did. Get the 15-round magazines. I have four different manufacturers for 10 mm. That XDM Elite is a laser beam shooter, seriously impressed. Have put everything through it. I can buy putting through some vicious loads . it never failed. Check out the turkeys opinion. He tortured want to the Max and it's still charge through. For the price. I don't think you can beat it. I have larger 10 mm and that XDM seems to soak up the recoil better than any gun that I own
I have the full size too so I have some 15 rounders. I really like the xdm 10s
Love mine, it's my new hiking and camping gun here in east Tennessee. Great guns imo. I love my g20 but I've gotten better ballistics out of this than it.
3.8 vs G29. Looking forward to that. My 3.8 retired my G20 to the rear of the safe.
I may have to take the 10mm plunge soon, never have shot one but have been looking at them recently.

I bought the 4.5" first and then the 3.8" and I to took the mag well off the 3.8 also and it's a lot easier to handle that way. And I really like my Springfield handguns all six of them.

Did I miss ambidextrous controls & the extended mag that holds 15+ 1? And they punch out hot Underwood & Buffalo Bore 220 grain WFNs @ 1200 FPS. And that they're taking over Alaska as THE bear/ moose attack backup pistol. Or that they're THE best ergonomic design natural POINT shooters yet made when you won't have TIME to aim w a bear or other hostile critter in your face. With the way you can bong the steel at thoes short ranges you'd have NO PROBLEM stopping a charging Kodiac.
The 5.2” should be out by fall time, a good option as well
I have this same pistol and also took the mag well off, much better that way. Good shooter. I do wish there was more (200gr, 1200fps) standard 10mm offerings out there.
Yeah the mag well on the short grip was a miss for me but easily enough removed. If I didn’t handload, I wouldn’t be near as much of a 10mm fan because the real 10mm loads are all boutique brands and expensive. I’d recommend reloading if you don’t already.
Grizzly 200 grain....but sig v-crown 180 grain has great performance...but still need to try out G9 95 grain EHP...Buffalo bore is also great

Foreign firearms are imported into the U.S. with a minimum point requirement. More safety features equals a higher point total, which then makes the importation process potentially easier.
Example: Those weird thumb rest "dips" on the frame satisfy a "target pistol" designation, therefore, 1 point. That's probably why you have the redundant combo of a grip safety, plus a loaded chamber and cocked indicators on these particular guns.
I use the extend magazine with 11 rounds. Hides just a easy and gives at extra round.

I have that gun and love it, even though I prefer the extra level of safety you can get with hammer-fired guns. My only complaint is that when you buy a spare mag it doesn't come with the flush/10-round plate.

I like this gun a lot. But my Hex optic (came with gun) died after to range visits and it doesn't co-witness. I'm likely going to replace it with a Holosun. I have the XDM in 10mm in 5.25" and this XDM Elite in 10mm in 3.8"
I can see that cocked indicator getting gunked up with junk and starting to have issues.
Definitely something to take a peek at every now and then

There is some "cheap" basic 10mm(target) ammo popping up that has gotten down to 19$ a box and while it's not cheap as 9mm it's not terrible especially if you reload , sell or turn in the brass back to the ammo manufacturers

Yes. I have the full-size as well and they fit and function.
I hate the high bore axis on the Springfield
I shoot a lot of da/sa guns so I don’t even really notice it.
It doesn’t have high bore axis. Only Sigs and hammer fired guns have that.
