Thanks for not being afraid to expose John Deer's bullshit. You do it without even saying it. Replacing something like that every 2 years is a joke. Thanks for sharing.
As a deere tech yes. The fan drives themselves suck. But they do work very well when they are in good shape. But also rember that he puts a lot of hrs on that tractor. The years doesnt matter. The mechanical hours the tractor works is what matters.
HA HA HA ...Overpriced designed to fail JUNK!@@pistonringfarms8107
@@pistonringfarms8107So, you think it's ok then, 3 times in 10k. Pfft. The design is horrible.
@@MarvUSA didnt listen to what i said. The fan drives themselves suck. But the concept is great.
@@pistonringfarms8107anything with a variable speed sheave is junk
Haven’t noticed an audio problem with your videos. Keep on keeping on!
It’s amazing how complicated these fan drives have gotten. It really adds a lot to your cost of operation over the life of the tractor
The new 9R tractors all use a hydraulic driven fan now. Thank god.
Thanks for sharing Andy. I haven't noticed any problems with the audio. All been good.
There’s a company here in Ontario close by Nuhn called Clean Fix that makes fan systems for those tractors
Your tracking information on your trucks and tractors is interesting. Keeps everything organized, easy reference, it's great when you're ready to sell or trade all information is logged.
Hi Andy !
Good job , good comment !
Thanks Andy for your time and everybody have a good day at the farm ! 🙋♂️
It’s great that you have a couple of Journeyman Mechanics on standby for all your ongoing projects.
All the changes that the AG business has gone through, not a fan of the new stuff of today but, it's amazing to see how much things have changed over the years. Think I'll still stick with the older equipment. No clutches for the fan belt/water pump assembly, just 4 bolts and were far easier to R&R.
Who said the audio was bad bud, it sounds absolutely fine to me as usual 👍👍👍
I think the mic was a little screwed up from back when the camera got hit with shit
I watch every video you put out here in NORTH WEST OHIO haven't seen or heard any problems here with that.TELL Jarrett he did an AWESOME JOB EXPLAINING TOOL BOXES IN HIS VIDEO he should carry his own Camera and Explain some of his Jobs just an Idea KEEP VIDEOS COMING!!!
Thanks for showing us how u keep track of the parts u replace pretty kool that job did not look fun to do but as always u got the job done keep up the great work Andy
Many heavy equipment manufacturers use hydraulic fan drives to operate variable speed fans. It also allows for the fan to be reversed to self clean. That requires a hydraulic pump, motor and valve. We didn't have many problems with them.
Thanks for sharing your maintenance software - I always wanted to know how you kept track of all the equipment your farm has. Very interesting!
i dont comit alot but YOURE VIDEOS ARE GREAT!! thanks for the content, Jareds video of the tool box was awesom!! great vids. thanks
Andy, I bought VEVOR Automotive Topside Creeper, with Adjustable Height 48" to 76", 400 LBS Capacity High Creeper, 4 Swivel Caster Wheels, Heavy Duty Foldable Creeper for Auto Repair and Maintenance for working on our tractors
Great maintenance program. Love to see it especially with that amount of equipment and Iron 😊
At least you found the fan before it ate the radiator too!
Good work on getting the 9410r back to going again, be spreading and back on the pottinger for the spring
Nice job Andy talk about tight quarters what a job I would even struggle with
Great video Andy. Got to be frustrated with doing the fan belt and clutch that many times.
Classic road pop video, you don't know unless you've done it extensively. Much respect and funny to watch knowing the state you were in!
There's a reason they stopped using the Vari-cool system on all the new equipment, they have been trouble from day one.
The next time you remove a fan drive if you pull back the rubber boot the inner sheave will pull right off and it will be lighter and slip out of there easier.
Hello Andy and everyone on the farm thank you for the videos Andy
Smooth running operation at FFF PM's are organized and well done....Great Vid 👍👍👍👍🍺🍺
Glad you got both clutchs they are very heavy😊. Awesome.
Nice work Andy. Jared, have a great day.
Very interesting video, thanks Andy !
Nice behind the scenes, Thanks,
Great video Andy as always. I watch alot of your videos and have not noticed any problems with the audio. Good on my end. Have a Blessed day.
Great teamwork fellas 👍🏻
Another great video Thanks Andy. 👍👍
Nice video. Andy love to see the videos. I can't wait to see the new tracker when it comes. Tack it easy and have fun.❤
Thanks for the video Andy! I have no idea how you always seem to have a positive attitude doing some of these jobs. I really liked Jared's toolbox tour as well, he seems like a natural.
Great video, and the sound…..has always sounded good to me!
Thank you for another great video. Stay safe out there. Cheers
Love the videos thanks for taking the time to make them have a good on.❤
Thank you
I grew up on a farm just like Junior driving tractors and now I write softare like your truk program - but I would rather be driving tractors 😆
Thank you for the content Andy.
Another very interesting video Thank you Andy 😊😊😊😊😊
Sound and video clear ,interesting work, good u understand computer information to keep equipment running well.
Great video buddy thanks for sharing
Your audio is perfect keep up the amazing videos thank u
Very good Andy
Great video. I would conclude the JD fan clutch design is a complete failure. Four replacements in 10k hours is insane.
Good video Andy. That's pretty involved work. Technology strikes again! My pickup doesn't have direct drive fan on it. Enjoyed the vid!
Holy Crap Andy, I don't know how you do this seven days a week.
Awesome video thanks for your time and consideration Andy much appreciated 👍🇬🇧🇺🇲🇬🇧🔧🚜🛠️🚛😎
That's quite the project replacing those clutches
Hi Andy, I’m a house painter and I’ve got a little warner mini staging with folding legs that you might find handy the one that way I can describe. It is a tall, wide stepstool I find it way handier than a step ladder.
I enjoy your videos. Thanks.
Hello Andy,
The next time you have to do a job like this one, you can use that mobile chain falls, one on each side of the tractor run one chain through the open space and the other one as normal. That way, the chain falls are doing the heavy lifting. The one through the open space you lift up and the other one let out the chain, should be able to set it right in.
Love the videos.
It is amazing how much engineering goes in to make the fan variable speed. Also I watched a video from ZK MasterTech replace this and its not an easy job no matter how much equipment you have.
Sound has been fine
After having to pull a radiator and replacing it while replacing a fan clutch I always put a thin piece of plywood on the back side or the radiator. With the cost of parts nowadays I think its the smart thing to do.
This is the reason why the current generation 8r and 9r don't have Vari-cool, great video.
I was watching trying to help lift too , lol
Great job!
Amazing job 👏
Great video and zk mastertech tracking system on all your equipment 👍🚜
ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO ANDY 😊
I find it much easier to muscle the fan driver onto the engine if you take the sheaves off first. It makes it smaller and lighter so it is easier to handle and easier to fit between the fan shroud and the engine. Then you can just slide the sheaves on after installing the driver on the engine.
Hi Andy you need plenty of grunt for that job, it was like watching a wrestling match well done
Always interesting videos. Thanks
Easy Job, not as easy as you make it look. But I need to know where the strip of metal came from. That would educational, and there’s your dinner!
Wow! Haven't seen the shop office before. Andy probably doesn't give written warnings/ write-ups to problematic employees 😂
Great video
Thanks!
Thank you
Becareful
I remember seeing, I believe, Larson Farms doing this a while back on one of their tractors. It was a bear of a job for them as well.
Good Vidja
Great work....Dont think I'm strong enough to do that job.....maybe 20 yrs ago @ 55...with help.
Another good one Andy I setting here watching you lift the part and I was trying to help you 😀 🚜🐄🇺🇲👏
Good another good job done
Great video Andy. Nice to see the pulling down and rebuilding footage occasionally. I don't know why tractor manufacturers don't make the fan cowlings in sections so we can remove part of them for access. They're so awkward to work around. I'd love to see the rebuilding of those fan clutches. I'm interested to know what that strip of metal wound round the shaft was
Iv had Tatems 3 years now I think. Its excellent, best Iv found for trucks/forklifts and equipment and I have tried a few
Good to hear
What a tough job. Those clutches look very difficult to work on.
Audio has been good on my end
Shout out to ZK MasterTech...
Andy hangs on the wrench to torque the bolts to spec, makes my day!
They will for sure need an overhead crane if Andy retires.
No one is that strong
Farmers don’t really retire we love what we do, we just do less😊
@@joelhumphreys915 Or have a cemetery plot picked out... 👍🤣
was just thinking about how strong Andy must be. But, he will pay for that as he ages!
When you grease these fan drives annually or at 500 hrs you can put a lot of hours on them, I put 5000 hrs on one
Sounds good to me Andy
That clutch must be a close replica of the old Horton fan clutch off of a silver 92 Detroit. It had to be replaced ever 5 to 6 month faithfully regardless. One winter we just ran it without the clutch completely. The front assembly of the clutch always had attendance to leak air. That is till Detroit finally put new or different seals in. That’s how the 92 got the name silver bullet [to the head] Detroit.
everything sounds good to me
the audio has been fine
Great video from the jaw jackn muscle man😂
Hey Andy I know of a 9360 that has happened 2 times in three years started on fire first time
I too never had a problem with the Audio Andy...
Seams like an over engineered system for the Fan. Just rip it all out and use an Electric Fan LOL....
Thanks.
Mike M.
Andy I suggest buying a half ton come-a-long from hobo freight. Their compact and would be the cats meow for jobs like this.
No complaints from me for the videos.
Have you ever thought about getting a mobile set of steps or a platform, much safer than a ladder. The correct platform might also make life easier and I am not talking about a pallet on a forklift. Medical bills can also be expensive.
There is a video on the ZK MasterTech site that was posted 2 years ago where he rebuilds the drive and driven assemblies. I am not sure if its the same as yours but if it is it may help you.
Keep lookin for the New Tractor Vid going Big
I haven't had any problems with audio Andy. Andy have you ever had anythin go through the radiator while working on the front of the tractor motors?
Surprises me that JD doesn't provide a fleet maintenance program for their 'hardware'. I mean they can tell you where and when you planted a grain of corn and its yield.
Putting basically CVT-clutches in a dirty environment, like on the front of a farm tractor is the worst possible design choice they could have gone with..
The fan on the JD forwarder i maintain is hydraulically driven and therefore variable speed and also reversible and has now run for 17000 hours without any maintenance in a very dirty enviroment. Plus it moves the fan in front of the radiator so the front of the engine is open and roomy and accessing the belt is easy.
Should rename it to the Rube Goldberg most expensive fan drive possible.
The only sound issues I notice with your channel is that it is louder than others. I set the volume at about 1/4 when there are some channels that need full volume.
Hey Andy do you and your brothers and Dad have a weekly meeting. So one hand knows what the other is doing and how you plan future expansion? Also do the wives do the bookkeeping. As big as you are managing has to be a big part. Will Jared be your replacement and a brothers kid for the dairy? You are Irreplaceable my friend.
We just roll with it…end goal is all the same
Do you know how strong you are Andy??lol 💪
I don’t
It's all about maintaining proper engine temperature for more complete combustion.
