+ Just had a genius idea 💡 for Opie's up and down the truck ; instead of stairs; a ramp ; four 2' X 3' sliding panels: when closed you carry them like a bag when in use you open them to form a ramp that the dog would just walk it up or down, no more jumping. Glued on fabric for traction. 😊
Opie is showing signs of dysplasia in his right front leg. My GSD had signs in her hind legs. I've been giving her NOOTIE brand ADVANCED HIP & JOINT SOFT CHEWS from Amazon. I doubled the recommended amount and it was like magic how she responded. She plays with my younger GSD now, climbs the stairs to the deck and jumps into and out of the car. Losing some weight would help him to. My Vet says its best to show some waistline behind their rib cage. He's your buddy. Keep him healthy as he ages.
I’m late again, nice to see you guys together, opie looks like he is still hurting, give him a hug for all of us we feel like we know him to,so keep our adventure going, be safe
FYI-in the Truck Paper from Dec. 22 2023 there was an ad for a 1954 International 405-Cummins power-4speed main with a 4 speed aux-4.63 rears. He did adapt air leaf to it. It's down there in Iowa. Gorgeous ol girl.
Really good video! I retired in 2015 from 38 years cross country…3 time owner operator until I finally woke up the third time to the fact I could make a really good living driving for a company and not have all the financial headaches. Been a long time since I was able to gander down a long hood, so, I thank you! Safe travels my friend and God bless! ~Jim in Houston,Texas~
Nice recovery Kurt. The Warden better be the highlight of your day, week, month, year and life. You qualified by saying the international was your highlight of the day on the road.
When I see a rig like that International still working, it always brings a smile to my face. I cut my teeth in a 66 Mack B-81 Thermodyne ten wheel dump with a quad box at 18yrs old. You knew you were driving a truck. Everything after that was a step up. 😂
@ Robert clark9 one of the first trucks I drove was a b81 concrete mixer definitely not like today’s trucks. I hadn’t seen that truck in 30 years or more but last year my son and I were chasing down parts for my fathers ltl 9000 and the guy had her inside getting ready for restoration still had the number 15 on it was like seeing an old friend
@@rogerwestgate4724 Great story. And most of those mixers had 12:00 rubber on them as well. Big lug logger tread to get in and out of those holes. They were beasts. It’ll be nice seeing that old girl restored.
The reason the morning commute is crazier then evening because American people are always running late for work. A Japanese fellow told me that long ago. I tend to believe that as well. Enjoy your videos and the company you get from the dog. Im long retired from the road, 1993 and had a small dog with me a couple times. The company of a dog is the best therapy. Mans best friend. That international that you seen was nice but not quite as old as you speculated. I have some black and white photos of a couple dad drove right after WWII. Be safe out there and hope your dog treats you well.
The question of the day is "How does Opie feel about a moon lander being named after him? I think he might get a swelled head and will have to start signing autographs
I've driven 55 Brockway and the last one I drove was a 88 mack cabover before I started driving garbage truck and trailer it was a 2010 Pete great video keep up the good work God bless from GA stay safe
First visits to the channel, Love your rig, love your dog, That truck at 18:55 is quite the looker for sure, even the classics still have to work ya know? Or that was a custom order build, either way it is a very cool and unique rig for sure.
I lived 55 miles from the headquarters of Arbuckle pies for 22years and went by it for many more years I have eaten every pie they make except chocolate which I don’t care for. You Have driv By it before it is near Davis Ok and you would think it is a big factory but it just a small store. It really gets crowded during the summer You and yours havagudun and stay safe.
Kurt You know any leather workers…they can sew that rip in stairs back up easy in a few minutes. Stop by great falls, Montana and I can fix it for you. Enjoying the video have a safe day!
Man he is a loyal dog. He's doing what he can and he'll keep doing what he can for you cuz he loves you you treated him well! I love that! Keep being you!!
I'm thing the Freight shaker is some where prior to 68 more near 65 or a little prior to it because of the twin bedroom, kenworth come out with a twin sleeper that you could order i'm thinking 63, 64, or 65,, then went to a stand up sleeper, for a special order,, didn't last long do to the length laws,, i'm thinking 40 ft trailer was all you could pull,, what's pulling my chain is the steel bumper on the front,, Mac truck had one up a till 56 on a B model, the fenders are original, along with the cowling & radiator cap i'd have to see the interior to make a proper guess,,, one thing for sure those trucks where made of wood & the men that drove them where made of steel !!!!!!!!!
Deliver down here in the day time mon. and tue. it's supposed to be in the mid 70's unfortunately 30's to 40 at night a reminder it's still winter, brrrr...
Definitely morning people. They scare me to death. They are so incredibly aggressive, impatient and sometimes reckless, especially the guys in pickup trucks if you get in their way. Not to mention four cups of coffee deep and bad time management. I avoid mornings like the plaque. At night they are all chill. As I get older I feel an uptick of anxiety in traffic, almost like they could give me a heart attack. I’m naturally a calm person like you, so it’s very uncomfortable to be in a massive rush
Does that kitty kat need oil or an oil change she sounded a bit rattly when you started her .and what a beautiful old international I'd laugh if a woman got out of it 😂😂😂🤣
OPIY looks like he injured his foot or leg getting in and out of the truck. Our dachshund has the same issues and he is not allowed to use the stairs or jump off the count. Of course Schroeder is a lot lighter than OPIY. Dogs can be heart breaking when they are injured They do not know not to jump. 😓❤️
The fast tweeting you called ain’t working for me. One great thing about your channel is your relaxing tone and relaxed speed. It’s just enjoyable to listen.
I loved seeing all those Kansas towns in the middle of the night. It's nice that there are still places where people sleep at night instead of being out getting into trouble.
The first time I saw that truck was out near Utah. I actually thought it was some kind of custom b model Mack. I saw the fella driving it and he made me think of a Santa Claus who was able to still kick my butt! I believe he said it is a 55 but for sure an international. He also told me he built that truck from a junk yard and he did every bit of the work himself! Pretty amazing piece of work. Wasn’t to long later I saw him out around Tennessee. Keep a look out because that fella don’t mind working!
Kurt thanks you for showing us the old International, what a cool old truck. The first truck I drove in 1980 when I was just learning was a 1959 International, it had a 220 Cummins with a 5 speed main and a 3 speed browny. The seat was spring ride, when you hit a bump the springs would compress then try to eject you out through the cab. I will never forget that old truck, and the hood on it seemed like it was 50 feet long.
I have a 1973 long nose Kenworth (dump truck/pup/belly dump/and on the weekends I hauled a walking floor trailer hauling peat moss from Canada to Oregon). I have since converted her to haul my LQ Horsetrailer. There is something special about these old girls loping down the road taking care of us. She still purrs;). Be safe and Love your truck! Classic at her best!
First time viewing a video from this channel. Makes me miss even more my best friend Duke who ran the road with me for 5 1/2 years of his six year life. He died way too young. He was truly the best 😞
Thoroughly enjoy your quiet windshield time. 👍 Listening to the whirl of the turbo, hum of the tires- and looking out at the road and countryside. Thank you for sharing. 😃
Thanks for the ride along. Glad your CB is working.... Hope Opie is feeling better. Safe travels & 🙏✌️❤️ to you both & the family & other critters. Pam
Mr. Schmidt, have you ever considered becoming a movie director?
Your video camera placements (compositions) are pretty darn good.

That Blue International as others have mentioned is a 1955 and in addition is known as a Westcoaster RD 405 Custom.
Man I love to see this man's love for dogs ! Somebody who feels strong about dogs and animals. Is somebody who I can stand with! Thank you man!!!
I’m late again, nice to see you guys together, opie looks like he is still hurting, give him a hug for all of us we feel like we know him to,so keep our adventure going, be safe
That 1955 international is all over Reddit and TikTok 😮
Yes we love Opie mainly when he talks lol thanks for the ride Kurt and holding the camera for Opie

1961 IH West Coaster I had one with a Detroit 12V71. I Used it a gin truck in the oil fields Great truck, wore the old sucker plumb out LONG time ago.
Gosh dang hear that turbo? Like music to the ears
Nice recovery Kurt. The Warden better be the highlight of your day, week, month, year and life. You qualified by saying the international was your highlight of the day on the road.
2 LARGECAR K-DUBBS @ the Picnic Park was EPIC
A other awesome video again.

Hello from Quebec Canada
Thanks for putting awesome content out. I look forward to seeing them.

Hi from central Texas, luv yr video.
that international is a 1955. it has made an appearance on youtube before. look up the channel Death Row Trucking about 9 months ago.

Going to work their always in a rush because they can't seem to get on the road on time .late & boss is furious !!!
I wonder if maybe you could find some kind of fitted cover for Opie's bed so you wouldn't have to make it up so often.
That's antique trucking out of Albuquerque nm I see it alot here in New mexico I'll ask around see if I can get you some info about that truck
You know that driver had a cigarette hanging from the corner of his mouth. Lol
Or a toothpick if he was a ol cow hauler ..
Deliver down here in the day time mon. and tue. it's supposed to be in the mid 70's unfortunately 30's to 40 at night a reminder it's still winter, brrrr...

Saw a pic on reddit, the 55 on the air intake represents the year, lucky the hood was open and appears to be inline 6 kitty cat. 4206?
👉🇺🇸👈👉⚰👈
Does that kitty kat need oil or an oil change she sounded a bit rattly when you started her .and what a beautiful old international I'd laugh if a woman got out of it 😂😂😂🤣
Sorry Kurt wasn't thinking all diesles start like that our hilux 4x4 did that
In dog miles, 60 miles is the equivalent of three days. My Australian shepherd has to pee a gallon every time I set the brakes
My guess International 1960's era with a custom sleeper
Would you do an overview of your dashboard and all those gauges? Thank you.
OPIY looks like he injured his foot or leg getting in and out of the truck. Our dachshund has the same issues and he is not allowed to use the stairs or jump off the count. wonder what that sleeper looks like, looks big from the outside
I bet the only thing old about that international is the body, I bet it's got new frame rails and modern engine and transmission
Your young yet bud you have time to see a lot more!
keep it between the ditches.
Whens the 447 getting fixed??? What happened to it?
The fast tweeting you called ain’t working for me. One great thing about your channel is your relaxing tone and relaxed speed. It’s just enjoyable to listen.
OLD IRON 💪🏻👍✌️
How many gears are you working with?
The shape of that bed spread doesn't matter, leave that dog alone
hr is a pretty dog
Is that JBS packing
Hey Kurt have you herd any thing from Martin and Alice
that international might be from the 70's or 80's ive got a 1966 and it looks nothing like that
Where is Offerle Kansa?????
That's what your video said.
On 56 highway just northeast of Dodge City
What's up with Opie he's limping
Getting old

That truck could sniff you a mile away

1055 international west coast road tractor
Some zip ties will temporarily fix the Germans step.

Nah , I would say Built in the 60's / 70's !
Please tell me it has power steering omg

That's why we ride on the floor now, it's safer lol
Just wondering if you considered getting meloxicam for Opie. It's an arthritis medicine and just might take care of his painful joints.
Opie had the same look I give my better half when she tries kicking me out of bed lol.
As others have notated, it looks like the Internet says it’s a 1955 truck. You and Mr. Opie have a safe trip and great trucking.
I owned a 57 West Coaster logging truck many, many years go. Looked just like that one. The 220 Cummins was replaced with a 335 Cummins. 5X4 trans.
I have a 1973 long nose Kenworth (dump truck/pup/belly dump/and on the weekends I hauled a walking floor trailer hauling peat moss from Canada to Oregon). I don’t believe that Pete was a long hood? International was a 50’s model.
You know what they say about combines to fast for the corn fields to slow for the interstate
Thanks for the ride along. Glad your CB is working.... Hope Opie is feeling better. Safe travels & 🙏✌️❤️ to you both & the family & other critters. Pam
He seems like a very special puppy. Good people are animal friendly. You have great content, but your puppy is a bonus.
Schmidt I hit the like button as normal, but today it doesn’t give us a number on the thumbs up.
