Well, arts is subjective. Anyone who thinks otherwise has no business in appreciating arts.

It's hated because it goes against the narrative that unedited vanilla music is the best. Or that the artists original interpretation of the song is perfect. Both of which is just people screaming max COPE.
Try listening to "Take a Hint" by Victoria Justice and Elizabeth Gillies. It comes off as a slow feminist song. It deserves it's paltry viewership. Now listen to the nightcore version. It comes off as a couple of cute Tsundere princesses. It completely reshaped the song simply by changing the pitch and speeding it up a little.
Haven't you noticed that people like the subtitle versions of an anime better than the dubs in 99% of cases? That's because Japan edits the voices by default. They don't use boring human voices. But you don't care about that because you don't realize it's happening. And it's not clashing with one of your core philosophies. In nightcore, IT'S OBVIOUS that something is different. Do a little research and NOW YOU CARE.
