While the popularity of the Big 3 is not as enormous as in their peak, I find it fascinating how much the Big 3 is still active today. They are still making Im@s games, Vocaloid songs are still being made, Touhou 19 just released not too long ago. I seem to recall something about Kantai Collection taking one of the spots of the Big 3 in the past but maybe i misremembered. Nowadays the big fandom that influence the japanese internet culture seems to be Gatcha games. Blue Archive, Fate/GO, and Umamusume could be considered the Big 3 of the present day, though including Fate in there seems out of place since the series is quite old compared to the two. Japanese internet fandom culture is very interesting to me, Great video!
Interesting you mention gacha since all the big three have created their own gacha games with varying degrees of success (Touhou Lostworld is nowhere near as successful as the others). It does still feel like the Big 3 are all extremely popular, but I'd agree that they no longer dominate Japanese internet culture like they used to. If I recall correctly, Kancolle isn't part of the Big 3, but was arguably just as popular and influential as the others at its peak.
Honestly, i think both Vocaloid and Touhou became the "Two Gods of Internet". Why is that? Because both IPs have gone so far, that there's references that only a touhou/vocaloid fan can notice, and now they are EVERYWHERE.
