    All these years cutting my own hair, I've never used trimming shears before. Now I don't know why I didn't start sooner! I prefer my hair really long, but have always struggled with the weight, flatness and thickness of it, and now I no longer have to compromise the length of my hair anymore. This was an absolute game changer for me - thank you 😊

    Sooo, this might seem like a silly question, but you seem pretty good with hair stuff. Why does my hair kinda bunch up in the back when I put it up in a ponytail? Would thinning it more in the back help or is there something else I'm doing wrong?

    • @KeraMiya
      @KeraMiya  7 місяців тому

      Hmm I can’t really visualize how that looks. Does it bunch up at the top near the roots, or more at the bottom?
      Thinning out hair makes it lighter, so it will bounce up a bit when it’s down. So I’m not sure if it will help with your problem 😕

      It depends how close to your scalp you start cutting. If you don’t want it to have shorter pieces, you can start cutting closer to the ends! For me, it doesn’t make it that much shorter, it just thins! Hope that helps!

      Unfortunately, normal scissors won’t have the same effect - it’ll be much more blunt. You can get thinning shears for less than $20 at your local Walmart or Target! Or you can order them on Amazon, that’s where I got mine :)

  • @sammartin2592
    @sammartin2592 Рік тому +1

    I’m thinking about doing this cause I also get head aches from putting my hair up I’m just trying to figure out the technique. When you use the shears to cut do you close them all the way down on the teeth or just do it lightly?

    • @KeraMiya
      @KeraMiya  Рік тому +2

      When I first started out, I only closed the shears about halfway. I wanted to be more conservative bc I was afraid of messing up. But once I did this process a few times, I started closing the shears all the way which cut off much more hair. By that point, I knew how much I wanted to cut off to feel like it was light enough. So you just have to get used to it! 😊

  • @SeattleRaindrop206
    @SeattleRaindrop206 8 місяців тому

    Rather than holding the shears completely horizontal, angling them (just point the end of the shears downward)… For example, at a 45 degree angle 📐works. It blends it a little better. Just a recommendation ladies! 🤍❣️🤍
