As much as I'd love for this series to come back, I feel like we have a spiritual successor to it (although a bit watered down) in the way OutsideXbox and WhatCulture do their videos.
The police in the game are much more incompetent. Team rocket held a large corporation hostage. Meanwhile, the police were still screwing around in cerulean. In fact, cerulean is the only town in kanto with any police force at all.

From what I remember from one of the earlier Unreal games; the mining corp. started the Tournaments to settle the unrest among the miners. Sooooo, the games wouldn't really have anything to do with the corporation's day-to-day operations.
I'll have to agree with the other guys here, Shinra totally should've been somewhere on this list. It almost seems like it was ACCIDENTALLY left out, as there's no way anyone would purposely do so, unless they've somehow never heard of it.

@k4in1zere Comepared to these companies, Ultor were rather favourable. Really they were very useful. They made malls which everyone wanted and managed to use gangs in order to defeat all the other gangs in the City therefore reducing crime. Quite good i'd say. Whereas something like 'Umbrella' causing between two and four genetic apocolypses which only like 16 recorded survivors got out.

Plus Black Mesa's problem got stopped by someone inside the company, Gordon Freeman, a physicist, Umbrella Corps's got cleaned by someone outside- wait, did the resident evil series end yet? i forgot, all i know is the people inside that are trying to fix it (if any are) are failing.

I've played Portal for like 15 mins, but i've never actually played Half Life. Although some guys in gamestation did try convincing me to buy the orange box when i asked for 'A game with lots of story, character creation and several game-effective choices'. Is it really as good as they say?

@geckomaster25x GladOS was awesome... but Aperture Science was killed off (presumably) by their own creation. Play through the game with Developer Commentary on, there's a good amount of backstory you can miss if you don't.
You totally forgot Ryan Industries from Bioshock! And don't forget Megacorp from Ratchet and Clank Going Commando! Though... thats not too well known. Glad about Aperture Science though. Totally EVILLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally, I found the Audacity of Blaarglb to be an insightful and inspirational book, with many jubilant digressions on the tastiness of brains and chewiness of Republican voters.

What about Ultor? They antagonized both the people from saints row, and lasted long enough to be the antagonist in Red Faction. Personally, i think they trump saty puft.

I did an internship for Umbrella last summer, they have free health spray in the cafeteria and shotguns right next to the toilets
