Coalitions are just a major waste of time. If there is a coalition that's going to form, it's better to declare on all then nations that are going to join separately. This way you would be able to separate peace them, and you won't have to deal with insane war enthusiasm modifier
@@CoolBonobo This works well, true. But i agree with the op. You can also just scare the little guys from forming a coalition. For that you need to be strong and have multiple strong allies. With this strat i conquered Germany as Brandenburg by going over 300 AE on the german minors without a coalition forming. Key was to ally guys like Denmark, Austria and Poland first. They re close to the starting expansion so having the ally reduction on AE was crucial. After i ve grown to their borders or pissed them off by like snatching Prussia from Polands face i dropped them for new allies like France, Ottomans and England. And after i ve eaten all of Germany in 1526, France was nowhere near coalition level of AE when i dropped them for Spain. Had 450 on Switzerland and around 100 on Denmark and Poland. Only had to go sure that i had truces with such mid sized nations i wasnt allied with. But thats far more relaxing than keeping over 30 minors in check all the time. Didnt have to care about relations and truces with the small guys. They were just too scared.
I didn't think about save-scumming the event. I used to just restart unitl I got a game where Austria rivalled Bohemia, RM them and bired until I could claim their thorne once they selected an heir from my dynasty. Getting it for free is SO much easier xD
The tooltip didn't say anything about that so its quite unexpected. I was able to get them + Hungary for free after dismantling the HRE and removing the rivalry. But it did a LOT of birding
