Today is David Lindley's birthday and I was today year's old when I saw two of my musical heroes playing one of my favorite songs from one of the best things to happen in the eighties.
Lindley is unfortunately very ill ---- the effects of long Covid and pneumonia ---- and hasn't been able to gig for several years. I'd love to hear him play again, even if only on a livestream. Sending best wishes his way!

This song (an electric version, with horns too) was on the very first El Rayo-X album, for those who are inspired to go search it out. somebody with Spanish skills should translate it and put the lyrics up in English for the rest of us. Gee, I'd love to hear David and Jackson play La Petit Fleur (My Little Flower), from the same record, which was sung in French, and originally written by Nancy Lindley and Solomon Feldthouse of Kaleidoscope. it is also so weird to see Lindley finger-picking an ordinary Spanish style acoustic guitar, not that he isn't phenomenally capable, it's just something we so rarely see.
