Lord Huron: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert

Lord Huron is a band for just about anyone: The rich harmonies are welcoming, the lyrics relatable and the live performances thrilling. The group started out as a solo project for singer Ben Schneider, but is now a full assortment of terrific musicians, all based in Los Angeles.
The band's first album, Lonesome Dreams, just came out - you might have seen the Western-style film that accompanied the first single, "Time to Run," which Scheider describes as, "A tragic tale of the foolish things a man might find himself doing for a woman, and the consequences that foolishness may bring upon him and those around him."
Dig into this Tiny Desk Concert, and pay no mind to the fact that, like me, Schneider showed up in the office wearing a hat and bolo tie - and, like me, plays the same black Martin guitar. We aren't in any way related, just kindred spirits.
Set List
"She Lit A Fire"
"Time To Run"
"Lonesome Dreams"
"Ends Of The Earth"

@NPR Can y'all PLEASE get Lord Huron to do a 10 year later Tiny Desk?? Can't believe it's almost been 10 years since this! And Lord Huron has released so much awesome music since.
I second this!! Yes please!!
Yesssssss
This is a necessity!!
I'll be 69 years old in three weeks and Lord Huron is my new favorite band!
Ellen Bales lol, 69
And how old are you, Frank Franklin? 12?
+Ellen Bales huh. she said 69.
Frank got buuuuuuuuuuuuurned
Ellen, you are awesome in my book for this!
Learned about these guys back in 2014, and they never fail to impress even in 2023. Most underrated band on the entire planet.
Since I couldn't fin em elsewhere, here are the names of the musicians:
Ben Schneider - Vocals/Guitar
Tom Renaud - Guitar in the back
Karl Kerfoot - Guitar up front
Mark Barry - Percussion
And Miguel Briseño!!
"Lonesome Dreams" is one of those rare albums where every track is amazing. Not a dud on the entire thing.
that moment you found a new cool band at youtube, and then you realize they have been to the tiny desk nearly ten years earlier. :-D
Went to Colorado, and Lord Huron was the soundtrack for two weeks. We made a baby whilst there and she's beautiful.
ted duncan well damn!
congrats on the sex
Wow, congratulations on the baby. You created life on excellent music.
to think that Ted Bundy took life in Colorado while humming along to radio tunes
Well that took a turn. Congrats and hope for a happy couple.
They stole my heart the first time I heard them.
I forget how I stumbled on to these guys but they are one of those rare finds. Something you don't want to lose, something you want to pull out of your hidden place and listen to to reflect.
Exactly
I can't take my eyes off their percussionist. The guy completely stole the show. Throughout the whole set, different guys kept looking back like "Dude! You're killing it back there! Keep it up!"
their lyrics are amazing, he really paints a picture.
LOVE this. Ends of the Earth is my spirit's song. Brings tears.
Ditto. Introduced to me by my son and has become my sound of yearning. It was already poignant as he and his partner had parted ways. Now it's mine as well.
Never knew my favorite band did am NPR desk show, so psyched I found this today needed something to brighten up my day
The artwork for the lonesome dreams album captures exactly how the music feels to me.
Phenomenally awesome music. I am so excited about finding this band. Better late than never at 61.
MY favorite moment is at 13:30 when the two guitar players trade guitars for the last song...those guys are team players, the best kind of band mates
I keep coming back to this video after so many years... Imagine the magic!!
Just found this today. I’ll be coming back as well.
@@annieforet4467 you have a great music taste and a colorful playlist collection.
Bring these guys back! They've changed a lot since this in the best way possible
I like them...their songs make me smile.
"She left no trace but I know her.. fail" Always make that error when singing along in the car
Same, every single time!!!
This is definitely in my top ten bands!
I swear NPR has everyone
From the Lonesome Dreams Album: She Lite a Fire 0:00; Time to Run 4:40; Lonesome Dreams 8:50; Ends of the Earth 13:35.
Great way to promote your band.
I can’t tell you how happy I was when I found this. This band is amazing!!
Take your egos and put them aside.
Bringing it all together
is how you make a good band.
"Out theres a land that time don't command"
Brilliant!
Best band in the entire world.
I FINALLY managed to get concert tickets for these guys, I can rest easy now!
I saw them in concert back in June and has to be one of my top five concerts. It was even at a venue I don't like much but my gosh, I cried for most of it. Truly amazing music.
love their acoustic live sound :-) love tiny desk concerts...thanks NPR!
truth2happiness
Agreed! NPR Tiny Desk Concerts are the best! Love them!
These guys are blessed!!!!
I love that man! Such a beautiful voice!
+Liz Dickinson I find it remarkably unspectacular. Sounds like almost every other white guy
+Irrelevance it's the way he portrays emotion through his voice, it sets him apart from other artists.
+Irrelevance Why does it have to be about race?
It's not exclusively about race... I did say "white GUY"
+GuyBigRed +Irrelevance's comments are irrelevant.
Percussion! I've been listening to them for about a year and a half. My son turned me on to them. I cook dinner and say, "Alexa, play songs by Lord Huron". Watching them now shows how integral and important their drummer is. That guy adds so much to their sound. I love the writing, harmony, and guitar, but their drummer really completes the sound.
It's actually Moby...
@@mtbbikeco It "actually" isn't Moby. The drummer was either Andrés Echeverri, or Miguel Briseño according to a list of names of former and current Lord Huron members. The drummer for this concert looks similar to Moby, but there are discernible differences in his face.
@@detectivekornfed Welcome to my undetected sarcasm detective!
@@mtbbikeco what you wrote about Moby reflects all sorts of comments on YT. Welcome to my applause and salute, good sir. :)
@@detectivekornfed Don't worry, I understood it and thought it was hilarious hahah. Wish there was a laugh react button :(
This should have millions of views!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Talk about playing in the pocket, these guys know how to groove. awesome
64 yr old and they are my new favorite too
I wish I could give this hundreds of thumbs up!
I love this band so much
Thrilled to have found these guys in NPR Tiny Desk..fell in love with them about a year or so ago and continue to be very impressed. Such raw, beautiful talents.

absolute perfection, I adore this band, loved seeing them in such an early stage of their career
Lord Huron makes me ridiculously happy.
Love this band. Nice to see them playing live. The sound isn't so great but they were amazing in spite of that.
Beautiful. Simply beautiful.

Tambour ON my troubadours
ooh child The back section in this __ bongo, rattle, claps, this mans got soul i can see it in his belly there aren't words for how much this makes my liver smile
🌻
Nice riff
I thought I was the only one doing that
Saw em in Vegas May 17th. Amazing of course. Quickly became one of my favorite bands. I tell my girl Buddy Holly and Elvis would be proud. They have a modernized pre-60s country rock sound with a touch of Twin Peaks and Pulp Fiction flavor, especially the album Long Lost.
I miss this, a lot.
One of my favorite bands today and didn't know they played in NPR. Thank you for this. 💕
I've heard some of their songs before in the background, but this is the first time I've really listened to them. As always, Tiny Desk has great music!
Favorite moment: 12:02 - 13:12. This song is beautiful, and I LOVE the building action in the last minute! :D

SO GOOD.
Saw them live last month at the Greek! My new favorite band!

I’m not crying, you’re crying!
There's some great albums coming up in 2013, but I see this one definitely staying in the top 5 for 2013!
such good stuff +++
My obsession!
We don't always need a critic in the room; music is art, an emotion, an opinion. Not always meant to be judged.
