Thanks for addressing this. It might seem ridiculous to some of the commentators below, as per their smartAlec comments. But, as a mechanic of more complex engines; i was thinking through this simple system. And its obvious the gas cap has a lot to do with aspiration. Just as a car, will throw a code for faulty gas cap... so too can it effect a small engine. After all, there is such a small limited amount of components in this system. So the cap is a huge aspect. It helps to hear some open dialogue. I was thinking that the cap wasn't tight enough, and hadn't accepted that loosening it might help. Thanks.

Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. What’s your update? It’s very possible that you have an imbalance with fuel-Air within engine. How old is fuel? Weak/contaminated fuel or an imbalance fuel-to-air mixture can bog engine down during load. Fresh new gas should hopefully fix issue. Please keep us posted. Us fellow DIY’ers need to stick together! 😎👍🔧🔩
Thank you! I’ll try that now. It otherwise looks like a design flaw . Shouldn’t the cap be mounted higher? Also if running the machine during heavy snow-sleet, wouldn’t it build up on top of the tank the same way?
Ice keeps blocking my Husqvarna snow blower from spinning , its making the rotor blades get stuck on the ice buildup and the motor stops. its so annoying , i thought these machines would be designed a better way so they would not struggle with getting blocked by ice forming, totally reticules design on these blowers , no space for the rotor blades to spin if there is ice buildup
Thanks for watching, that can definitely happen given the right circumstances. Ariens machines do a great job at preventing ice buildup however every now and then…again, when the right circumstances arise…ice can buildup and be annoying.
Im currently trying to make my snowblower engine work! I have a couple shorts if anyone is interested, id also be extremely grateful. But hopefully this or the other video helps!
@@Nebraskakarts Good morning ☕️ Any update? Have you replaced spark plug and spark plug boot in recent years? How is the overall quality of your fuel…is it old and possibly contaminated or is it fresh new fuel?
@DIYwithMichaelBorders good morning! I've been looking around and she is absolutely filthy inside. I actually bought a differnt engine so I can just use her as a work in progress motor!
Prepare for Short Term Storage!

Hey thanks appreciate the quick help !
Mine was because the gas was filled too high so I emptied some gas with a Turkey baster and it worked again 😅
Awesome, that will definitely do it. Well done removing a bit of fuel to get it back up and running properly again.

A good running snow blower is definitely important. 😎👍
Thank you Sir! I wish all fixes were this easy!
Didn’t seem like mine was frozen over or anything, but I made sure to not have the cap on super tight and that seemed to work. Thanks !

I'll try it today let's see
My Ariens snowblower turns off when I run the auger. If I leave it alone it'll run idle until it runs out of gas.
Its snowing out and having the same problem Feb 2nd 2021 lol. Bucks county Pennsylvania.
@@jaydrider8871 same I'm in CT and we got 15 inches. Read manual can't figure it out

@@DIYwithMichaelBorders I bought fuel back in Dec 2020. Would a gas stabilizer help prevent this?

Thanks for watching, great questions and we definitely understand your thoughts. The newer models are designed very similar.
Thank you for saving my ass.... It was the gas cap. Should have known... Thanks again...
Very cool & you are very welcome. Thanks for watching & sharing this Darrell.

We appreciate the reply, that’s pretty cool you have a backup engine. Cleaning the current engine will help.
😁👍
$2400 for this piece of garbage. King of the Snow lol. It’s lies. I’ve seen other machines perform so much better.
I’ve never seen a machine that needed is butt kissed so much for it to work lol
basically a video telling you to look at your owners manual. Useless!
