Will the UFC 257 performances be enough for Khabib to come out of retirement??
EDIT: 4:45, I mispoke in the moment, these are NOT dermatomes. Those are related to nerve root levels and not peripheral sensory nerves, which is what I am actually showing in the video. Just a difference of describing the cutaneous innervation from the sensory nerve (pictured) or the nerve root (L4, L5, etc)
Also, bonus points for those that caught my orange/green background colors

I, personally, don’t think so. He’s already said he wants someone new which Oliviera and Chandler would only be the new fighters for him. But he’s on such a high level, is there a reason to bring him back if he wants to sit back and watch? If we keep him, it log jams the division with 6 active contenders and a champ who can’t be stopped.
I think if he goes, it’ll help clear up the division a little. There’s 6 or 7 fighters all within 1-3 fights for a title shot with lots of different styles. I like Khabib, but if he fights, we know who wins

@iSpeakFacts Bruh I think that's what the old man in the bar that he beat will feel in this moment not some random fan of the sport on the internet. I do respect Conor but no one runs his mouth quite like him, he claimed he was gonna knock Dustin out in 60 seconds. He calls out an old 39 years unranked Diego Sanchez instead of the elite's in the game and still insists that Khabib is the one dodging fights.so I think its pretty fair buddy. It's just a joke, chill.

Shows cutaneous innervation (i.e., after the plexus) map, calls them dermatomes. Definitely a PMR doc.
For those of you who are not physicians: Sensory nerves leave the level of the spine, generally one per vertebrae. This is how you get pain in a "dermatomal" pattern, and if you look up "dermatome map", you'll see the body sliced into more or less regular levels, correspondent with vertebrae. These single dorsal nerves (which provide sensory information) almost immediately combine with ventral nerves (which provide motor innervation) to form spinal nerves, which then braid (in the limbs, especially) into what are known as "plexuses", forming the nerves you are most familiar with (e.g., median nerve, sciatic nerve, radial nerve, etc.). Of the body's plexuses, the brachial plexus is the most ready example, and you should look up an image of that to note how the nerves we work with in the limbs are formed from contributions of multiple spinal nerves. It is NOT the case that these nerves represent a specific spinal level. The effect from plexus formation is that a single nerve (such as the common peroneal nerve) receives innervation from multiple spinal levels, which is why you get a "patch" of skin rather than a "level" associated with those cutaneous nerves. Thus because of plexuses, you no longer get sensory skin innervation ("cutaneous innervation") from a single spinal level, which is why the cutaneous innervation body map looks so different from the dermatomal body map. The only way to get a dermatomal distribution is if you have damage at the level of the spinal nerve or earlier. Poirier was not kicking McGregor in the back in this footage, so...do the math.
To give some perspective, this was literally the first thing I ever learned in medical school. This is the most basic of all basics. You really have to wonder about a physician who gets something like that wrong. Be careful out there.

That was beyond informative. Like I knew from watching for so long how those leg kicks could be damaging but all it took was a 5 minute video to really understand where exactly they are placing those kicks and why it can be so damaging. Like I'm almost blown away. That was really good and so very well explained.

Curious how the kicker is able to basically kick, but not break his foot in the process of hitting all of those hard areas on the leg he's aiming for. That's why they're trained athletes of course, but when you see the anatomy of the nerve area in question, makes it even more impressive. Fast, awesome video, as always.

I had a left knee injury in 1981, which stretched my peroneal nerve. As a result, I could not lift my left foot. The nerve didn't regenerate and I had to have a second surgery (tendon transfer) so that I was able to lift my left foot again and function without a leg brace.

I was pulling for the Cajun boy from Lafayette, Louisiana but hated to see Connor nailed with his first TKO. Up to now his 4 previous losses were tap outs. Dustin Poirier deadened Connor’s leg then took advantage of him being off balanced giving Connor his first stop by punches. Good fight.

I once suffered from the same injury many years ago and it was due to a soccer match. Some novice footballer took a swipe at my calf and that's when I knew something was wrong. My calf swelled up twice its size, to the point where I couldn't walk for at least a month, and it healed within two months.

Dude, no joke but you should really consider offering your services to Connor and explain to him the benefits of studying the human anatomy more in depth and it’s weaknesses. This can be super beneficial to his career and your pockets. I’m sure if you explained this to him in depth before his fights and other areas of the human body like this and how aiming for these parts during a fight can give him an advantage over his opponents, it would be a game changer. I feel like now a days fighters are solely focused on the fighting aspect of the game and not so much on studying the human body and it’s weakness. You should really consider it. You have have nothing to lose and everything to gain! I believe you can do it! Don’t let anyone tell you differently 💪🏽🙏
