I'm an anime only, but when I was watching this episode, I was honestly more scared for Yuji than anything. As someone who loved Yuji's kind heart and compassionate spirit and really felt that speech he gave about "killing would make the lives of those I love less valuable", I just felt afraid of what he could turn into if he kept going down this path. Like, this isn't really a win to me, at least not until I can verify that he hasn't become completely dead inside. Gojo wasn't able to see what Geto was becoming, and now he's raising a new generation to have stronger moral values than those who came before. Yuji, Yuta, even Megumi all seem to have strong morals of their own and strive to do the right thing because they care about what happens to innocents. More than anything, I hope that Yuji doesn't lose that part of himself to this emptiness. Time will tell, I guess.

that's defiantly the right way to look at his character in the show itself, I just like to take the mentality's to their positives for bringing it into your own life

Honestly, I really liked the way that you explained it while still acknowledging the potential faults with taking that mindset to the extreme, but a lot of the fans (who I guess are manga readers) seem to think that this is Yuji's endgame, that this was the lesson Akutami was trying to teach, and hearing that so much just makes me worry about how he'll end up because he clearly still needs a lot of help, even if he did strengthen his resolve.@@collateral8920

The thing is, Yuji believes he's already killed people. He experiences what Sukuna does as him doing it himself, so has experienced killing people, and he also holds himself responsible anyway. This is why he feels like he has to fight "otherwise I'll be nothing but a murderer". In his mind, he's already a murderer and just has to try and do what he can to make up for it.
Before, he was so caught up with "not killing" that he couldn't accept what Mahito was saying and couldn't put his all into fights. Now, that doesn't matter cause it's over. Now, he can just kill Mahito and accept that side of himself.

That's certainly a pretty good way of explaining it, thanks. Clears a lot up. Still though, if he's going to keep his promise to Yaga about "not regretting the way that I lived." He's gonna need to reevaluate some things. Like, I'm hoping someone can give him a pep talk or at least a hug or something. I mean, I wouldn't blame him for Sukuna's actions, so I hope he can learn to stop blaming himself. Maybe it's already happened in the manga, I don't read it, but a lot of manga readers seem to talk like this is Yuji's big realization of how he should live his life for the rest of the series, and that's what scares me the most. Just gonna hope that the next arc addresses some of this stuff. @@huxleybennett4732

BRO I ALSO NOTICED YUJIS GRANDPA CURSING HIM WHICH IS WHY YUJI SAYS HE NEVER SAW A CURSED SPIRIT BEFORE THAT DAY OR FELT CURSED ENERGY UNTIL GOING BACK TO THE SCHOOL WITH MEGUMI AFTER HIS GRANDPAS DEATH. I THINK HIS GRANDPA PUT A BINDING VOW ON HIM THAT ACTIVATED HIS CE AS A VESSEL OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT

I do believe that Yuji's philosophy is flawed though, because a cog has no individuality since it's just another part of the machine.
Individuality is strongly associated with power in jjk, shown most obviously through mahito's moments of growth (example: he achieves his final form by percieving the true shape of his soul) but also through quotes like "a sorcerer has to be a little crazy" (the opposite of crazy is normal).
In many moments throughout the series a sorcerer grows through knowing and accepting one's self, and so I believe that Yuji will grow once he breaks his cog mentality and accepts his own individuality. He will probably discover his innate cursed technique in that moment as well, a cursed technique is a large part of what makes a sorcerer unique after all.
Edit: another thing I thought of that supports individuality=power is that a domain expansion, the pinnacle of sorcery, is a technique where you construct your innate domain (your inner world essentially) in the real world, and so doing that neccessitates knowing one's self in the truest sense. Consider that Mahito achieves his domain expansion through facing death, since as Jogo says, "death is a mirror".

Although... having a part of a story resonate with you too much can also "backfire".
After listening to Zeke Jäger and letting these thoughts marinade, it in many ways made me lose all belief in value of myself and life as a whole to an extent, since he based it on very simple logic.
    "Jokes" aside, great video! :D

Don’t forget Armin’s response, and also it is important to explore negative mindsets because you will quickly discover how pointless it is to have no hope, you will inevitably find purpose and meaning in your life, you just have to keep moving forward, even if it all seems futile, be a cog

I like this conceptual approach. I like the idea that being a cog can serve your individuality and not kill it. I disagree with Yuji's pragmatism but do feel the essence can help everyday struggles
